With a shaky breath I nod, feeling dazed as I continue to look into his eyes. "Yes."

He smiles then, slow and sincere. The look of love shining from him at this moment takes my breath away and makes me feel like the only other person on earth. In this moment we ourselves were Adam and Eve, alone in the world and so content with each other we did not realize the lack of anyone else.

I could feel him shift above me, preparing to lower himself on top of me so that he could reward me for my answer, his lips now brushing my own.

With the last of my self control I extract my wrist from his grasp and press it to his chest, delighting in the moment of stunned confusion in his gaze as I smile as well, willing all of the love and trust that I felt for this man to show in my own gaze.
