an  affectionate  giggle   bubbles   from   the   lips   of   the   blonde   as   she   beholds   the   expression   dominating   her   boyfriend's   countenance .   the   cacophonous  roar   of   the   food   court   around   them   battles   her   voice   in   volume   as   she   twirls   some   fast   food   lo   mein   around   her   fork .   ❝   babe   ,   it's   mall   food   ;   you   can't   possibly   have   expected   it   to   be   five stars .   ❞   cassie   sometimes   finds   herself   forgetting   that   @ruinedmyself   and   his   brother   don't   take   much   time   to   do   normal things  like this .   they're   on   the   road   so   much   ,   there   can't   be   much   time   for   trips   to   the   mall   or   the   movie   theatre .   ❝   you're   supposed   to   choke   it   down   as   fast   as   you   can   so   you   can   get  back   to   wasting   money   on   everything   else   in   the   building .   ❞

up  until  this  point   ,   cass   has   made   a   conscious   effort   not   to   get   involved   with   her   boyfriend's   work   life.   she   knows   he   puts   himself   in   danger   every   day   ,   knows   he's   good at  what  he does   -   and   that   people   are   better   off   for   it .   but   the   blonde   can't   decide   which   part   of   tonight's   debacle   is   worse   :   how   dangerous   the   job   truly   is   ,   .   .   .   or   the   fact   that   this   case   involves   her   childhood   home .

she   glances   nervously   up   at   @ruinedmyself   ,   doe   eyes   wide   as   saucers   as   it   continues   to   hit   her   that   the   man   she'd   seen   in   there   .   .   .   that's   an   entire   part   of   who   sam   is.   he's   her   sweet   ,   goofy   ,   fiercely   loving   partner   ;   and   he's   also   lethal.   watching   him   work   had   felt   like   a   trance   -   he   and   dean   had   been   a   solid unit   ,   identifying   and   eliminating   the   creature   with   hardly   a   bead   of   sweat   to   show   for   it.   it   was   methodical   ,   and   efficient   ,   and   terrifying.
