"Elise!" Corrin runs over to his little sister, and instantly pulls her into a giant spinning hug. He gently kisses her forehead, care and love behind his every action, before setting her back down to the ground with a smile across his face.
From who knows where, he produces a rather squishy looking (and crudely wrapped) present, opening her hands gently and placing it in them, "It's not much, but I wanted to make you something! The eyes might be a little uh... lopsided," He cringes at the thought of the poor little stuffed dragon inside of the package, one eye hanging far below the other, "But happy birthday anyway! It's the thought that counted I suppose!"
“Brother!” Elise giggles happily as he spins her around, continuing to squeeze him in a hug for a few seconds even after her feet find the ground again. She tilts her head a bit as she steps back, watching as he takes the present, her face lighting up when she realizes it’s for her.
She takes the present into her hands as carefully as she can, eagerly unwrapping it before he even has a chance to finish his explanation.
“I wanted to make you something!”
Elise stares into the little plush dragon’s lopsided eyes as the words sink in. She would’ve loved it no matter what— stuffed animals are adorable and she loves all of them (plus it would hurt their little plushie feelings if she didn’t like them and she doesn’t want that)— but the fact that Corrin made it. For her…
“WAAAAHHHH THIS IS THE BEST PLUSHIE TO EVER EXIST IN THE HISTORY OF EVERRRRR!!” She launches herself back at her brother, hugging both him and the dragon almost painfully tightly. Not the most mature adult look, but she gave up on trying not to cry after about 5 seconds.
“ITS AMAZING AND I LOVE IT AND I LOVE YOU AND IM SO HAPPY IM YOUR SISTERRRRR!!!!”

“Another impressive outcome,” Hubert says, though he is not surprised that someone like Elise would get such positive reviews. He hands her a button that says ‘exceptional model of behavior.’ “You have done well, and provided us ample data to move onto the next phase of the experiment. We thank you.”
“It has been noted that you are incredibly sweet, if only to hide some of your sadness. You also are intriguing to those who wish to study animals alongside you.”
Elise gasped, clapping her hands in happiness as she looks between the button and it’s creator. “I did?! Really?!” She was hoping everyone would like her (especially since she liked them all too), but to hear she did so well it was impressive??
“Hehe, thank you!!” She reaches out quickly and practically snatches the award out of his hand, taking the button so excitedly it’s impressive she managed to not accidentally stab herself while fixing it to her uniform. It’s a little crooked, but that’s okay! She’s still a winner. She won friendship. Yippee!
Kinda weird someone thought she was ‘sad’ though. Was she sad? She doesn’t remember being sad. Did her being sad make them sad??? She hopes not. That would make her sad for sure. Oh well, at least she’s still friends with whoever it was! This was a very productive experiment. Probably.
“Thank you! This was super fun! I’m happy I was able to help you, too! Whatever it is you’re doing. Good luck with that, by the way. I hope the ‘next phase’ thing works out!”

[Water ] - The liquid of life, the quencher of thirst. Served in crystalline glasses. And what’s more dramatic than throwing water at someone’s face!
"Don't forget to drink some water while you're having fun!" She gave her littlest sister a warm smile.
Elise beams back at her sister as she’s handed a cold glass of water. She has to hold herself back from launching herself into a hug, but she doesn’t wanna spill water on the both of them. It would ruin her sister’s pretty outfit, she can’t do that! Though Camilla’s outfits are always pretty, in her opinion. Camilla’s just pretty in general. She’s lucky she loves her too much to be jealous.
Their moms had enough jealousy for about a hundred of them anyway.
The cool drink is exactly what she needs after all her running around, dancing, and yelling. She hadn’t even realized her throat had been starting to feel dry until the feeling was already gone. Along with the water. “Hehe, thank you! That feels a LOT better, seriously. You’re the best big sister ever, Camilla!”
…How does Camilla always seem to know when she needs something anyway? And how does she always know exactly what she needs?? Huh. Spooky.

[ approval ] -  "i commend thee, lady elise, for your choice is as a rare gem unearthed from the depths of antiquity, a treasure that glimmers with the radiance of thy discerning soul!"
Ask Meme from Here!
Elise can’t help but immediately break out into giggles. She’s always entertained by how Odin can manage to say the simplest things in the most complicated way. It’s fun. She’s glad he still does it, even here.
Though at this point it would probably be really weird to hear him talk normally.
“Thank you! Your selection is as… um… as astounding as the gleaming nights star, brighter than the rest in its splendor of darkness!” She nods confidently as she finishes, beaming up at her brother’s retainer. She’s a little out of practice in speaking Odin-talk ‘the dark tongue’, but she thinks she got it close enough! She’s pretty sure! She hopes! Only Odin would really know if that was true or not though.

[Sweet Bun Trio] [Tea] It was the ball where Niamh was first introduced to the complexities of tea. The kind, the way it is brewed, even the atmosphere determined the outcome of the tea. It was here that she was taught that.
And more recently, she was provided tea and treats for her birthday - testing the combinations had been fruitful. But, perhaps more than that, she noticed another factor that was key to having enjoyable tea.
So, when she finds a set of pastries to try, and notices the array of teas being offered, Niamh surveys the room. Through the sea of faces, one in particular stands out - one she recalls meeting not so long ago.
"You're here too..." Niamh softly voices, showing the tray of treats to Elise. "Would you like to try these? There's lots of tea to pick from, too..."
The other person is immediately recognizable to her, despite the brief nature of their initial meeting. The mask probably helps in that. Ironic, considering the nature of the ball.
Though if the point of a masquerade is to hide one’s identity for the night, wouldn’t it be more effective if she didn’t wear a mask? Would it even count if she hadn’t worn a mask?? Could she layer masks???
Eh, it’s not that important. Especially if there are sweets present. That takes priority.
“Niamh! Niamh, right? Oh my gosh, it’s so good to see you again! Your dress is so pretty!” Elise takes a moment to look over the other’s outfit before acknowledging the tray or the offer of its contents, as is polite. She wouldn’t want Niamh to think that she’s only in the conversation for food, after all! Their friendship is just as important, even if it hasn’t existed for long! No, more important! It goes masks < sweets < friendship. As it should.
She makes sure to gasp as if she’s just seen the tray before reaching for a bun. Because she has not been eyeing it. She is a mature and polite adult. She would never. “Really? Thank you, hehe!”
She tries to take a small bite, but as soon as the sweetness hits one ‘small bite’ turns to two ‘small bites’, resulting in a less-than-refined princess talking with her mouth full. “Mmm! It’s so good! Niamh, have you tried this?!” It is good. Too good. A gift this great deserves a gift back… but all she has is the weird bell thing from when she got here…
…OH RIGHT SHE HAS THE BELL. She unclips one from her brooch, (gently) slamming it down on the try where the sweet had once been. Resulting in an accidentally-sugar-coated bell but that’s okay “Hm… here! You take this! Now I’ve given you something too, so it’s fair, right?”

[ Wish ] “Woah, look at the stars…” Forde says to no one in particular, gazing up at the night’s sky. He notices a young girl nearby, in a beautiful dress. “My brother and I used to make wishes on shooting stars, back when we were kids…” These days Forde was so content with life, he didn’t have anything big to wish for.
“They say wishes don’t come true if you tell someone…” And for some reason, Forde wants to test that. He holds out a white feather to the girl. “What if I said my wish was for you to take my brooch?”
Nohr doesn’t have stars. At least, as far as Elise has ever known. The most she’s ever seen from her room’s window has been the moon — and the most she’d ever seen of the sky from outside the castle had been the underside of the city streets above the real city of Nohr, and then only on the occasions she would manage to sneak out.
Even though the stars above the ball now are only a magic-based creation, they’re about as real as it gets. To her, at least. They’re as mesmerizing as she assumes the real thing must be, considering how distracted they made her to not even notice the other person nearby until he began to speak.
“Really?” She doesn’t know much about wishing on stars, despite their common prominence in stories. But one would think she’d at least hear of it if there was some sort of ‘rule’ like that. It doesn’t even make sense! Why would telling people about your dreams or whatever make them less likely to happen?! There’s no way that’s true.
Elise smiles brightly, removing a small bell from her brooch to offer in return. “Then I’d say my wish is for you to take mine, hehe! I’m Elise, by the way. It’s nice to meet you!”

[ Cue the Music ] - Dancing's what tonight's all about, is it not? Grab a friend or a stranger and get to twirling (or whatever it is the kids call it nowadays).
He's been wanting to talk to her more, since their pairing at the experiment. Time, nerves, and general busyness have gotten in his way, but he sees her on the dancefloor and vows this time! This time will be their reunion.
"Hey, hi! Remember me?" Tormod waves, eyes widening as he properly takes in her outfit. Her fashion sense really is awesome, all the flowers are so pretty and suit her well! "I, uh, was wondering if you'd like to dance maybe? And talk?"
Gah, why is this so hard! She's just a classmate. Well, from a different class, but, still. It's usually way easier to just strike up conversation, but he can feel his tongue get a little jumbled and it's really annoying!
"I really like your dress!" That's an easy one. And you know what, calling back to their old conversation, he spins around, showing off his whole ensemble, cape and all. "Balls are so fun for dressing up, don't you think?"
It takes her a few seconds in the new environment, but it isn’t long before her face lights up in recognition. Her hands clap together as she nods, smiling brightly. “Of course I remember! Tormod, right? It’s so good to see you again!”
She giggles at the compliment, doing a little spin just like she had done their prior conversation — though thankfully with less hair-face-slapping this time. “Hehe, thank you! I—“ Her own eyes widen as he spins, her voice cutting off as she finally takes in his own attire. “That. Is. The best outfit I have ever seen in my entire life.”
Her eyes practically sparkle in awe as she stares at it, finding it cooler and cooler by the second as she takes longer to look at it. No offense to the rest of the outfits she’s seen today (or in general) — they’re all great in their own way! But this one has flames. AND it still has the cool cape?!
And she thought the way he wore his uniform was cool before!
She feels like she was just on the dance floor a second ago, but she doesn’t mind. She nods with a large smile, grabbing his wrist so she can lead him over to a clearer area of the dance floor so they wouldn’t bump into anyone on accident. “You look amazing! And sure, of course I’d love to! It’ll be fun to talk again, hehe.”

[ Cue the Music ]
Gallant, he holds a hand out to his baby sister, adopting a mock serious expression. "Elise, may I have this dance?"
Few people can pull him away from his favored observational position by the wall; especially now that he has to keep an eye on their brother.
"Your dress is beautiful; like something out of a fairy tale."
She giggles at the formality, hands lifting her dress just enough for her to curtsy back in a slightly awkward manner. Funny how years of practice can amount to nothing if you don’t practice outside of class. Maybe her teachers are onto something with the whole homework thing….
…nah it’s still terrible.
She suppresses her giggles (though not her smile) in attempt to return the mock seriousness, taking his hand as she straightens again. “Thank you, Mr Prince of Nohr sir. Yes, you may. And I love your outfit too! It’s so…” She can’t say ‘cute’. That’s probably not the right compliment. ‘Pretty’ doesn’t seem right either. ‘Handsome’? Ew, no, saying that to her brother feels wrong for some reason.
The dam breaks as she finally comes to a conclusion mid-dance-beginning, giggling uncontrollably at her own words before she can even get it out. It’s not even necessarily funny, it’s just the fact she’s saying it to him that’s making her laugh. “…sophisticated. It’s so fancy. The.. uh…. Perfect… uh… picture… of….… fanciest fancy I’ve ever seen! And also not inside-out, great job, we love to see it, hehe.”

"Auntie Elise!!!" It is his father's little sister that Forrest throws himself at with the most force, sweeping the princess into as tight of a hug as he can manage. (It is not truly very tight, but it's the thought that counts.)
"Now that I am here, there are so many things that we simply must do! So many shopping trips that we have missed out on! Don't worry, I shall make up for it in tenfold! Shall we start with tea first? You have to tell me what you've been up to. You're my favourite aunt after all!"
Dramatic gasps and joyful squealing is the only thing she can manage for the first few moments as she returns the hug with equal (if not greater) enthusiasm.
She doesn’t let go of his arms even after she pulls back, looking over her nephew with a pout on her face that falters under the force of her own smile even as she tries to look disapproving. “Who do you think you are, not telling me you’re coming?! You gotta give me time to prepare for these things! I mean, look at me! I’m giftless here! What kinda aunt doesn’t have a gift for her nephew at the ready?! Jeez.”
She tries to hold her glare for a few more seconds, but the act quickly shatters. She hurts into giggles as she pulls him back into a hug. She’s never been good at the ‘strict’ thing. “I’m just kidding, ya meanie! I can’t stay mad at you. Now, about that shopping… I hope you’re free for the next few hours, ‘cause I saw just THE BEST place last week! Super sparkly. You’re gonna love it!”

🧃"Oh Elise you aren't too hurt are you!? Do you need me to take care of you? Is there anything you need? I'm always here to kiss your boo boos! You're never too old for that, despite what Leo pretends."
“I’m okay, don’t worry! Sakura healed me earlier. Oh yay apple-” Elise smiles up at her sister, but being okay doesn’t stop her from taking a juice box. Adults can have juice boxes too. Juice boxes are for everyone.
She swings her legs a little as she stabs the straw into the juice box, taking a quick sip before she returns her attention to her sister. “Did you see me out there? It was SOOOO super close! We almost won!”
She hopes that if Camilla saw any of it, it was the nearly successful parts that stuck out more than her own failures, at least.
“Oh! And Selena was really strong! She took out this HUGE armored guy, all by herself! It was amazing! She’s the real reason we made it as far as we did.”

"Oh Elise! A happy birthday to you!" Camilla gives the youngest Nohrian a one armed side hug. Her other arm is carrying a basket full of wonderful treats for the birthday girl; pretty hair ribbons, yummy chocolates, pretty flowers, and plenty of sweet treats!
Elise gasps, trying to focus on hugging her sister first and foremost, but very clearly distracted by the basket and its contents. As soon as the hug is let go, she wastes no time in inspecting it. “Is all this for me? Seriously??”
She beams back up at her big sister as she pulls her back into yet another hug, tighter this time. She has to make up for her earlier hug, after all! She can’t have her sister start thinking she only appreciates the gift and not her! That’s just not true at all.
“Thank you so so so so soooo much, Camilla! You’re the best! Oh— do you wanna share some with me? I don’t know if I can eat all this myself, hehe…” That’s a lie. She totally could. But she’d happily trade any sweets for more time with her sister, especially on her birthday.

topic: lady edelgard (and other esteemed leaders).
"O-oh, this is - I'm not sure this is the right - ?" Dimitri twisted about in his seat, ready to flag down whoever might have mistakenly left such a card on their table. It must have been a placecard, meant for Edelgard or someone on her behalf, but as he looked around the room, he found he could not find either sight of the Imperial heir nor anyone from her court.
Sheepishly, he turned back to his new partner - another princess, from another foreign country (Goddess, this really did feel like soirees in Fhirdiad, didn't it, to be presented with princess after princess?) - and he cleared his throat. "I'm sorry, they must have, um, provided us with the wrong...card..."
He trailed off in a flutter of awkwardness, but met her eye with an attempt at a smile - it was fine, he thought, he could still play the charming prince.
"After all, I couldn't imagine they truly want us to talk about prominent political figures, considering, erm, that we are...them. It wouldn't be in good form to discuss someone else for a first conversation, I think."
‘Lady Edelgard’…? Why does that sound familiar? Elise squints down at the card, face scrunched up in concentration as she tries to remember. Edelgard… Lady… …leader… hmm…
She’s snapped out of it just before the answer reaches her by the person sitting beside her now. He seems uncomfortable. Weird. She wonders what that’s about, she’s having a great time so far.
Elise returns the awkward smile with her usual bright one, nodding in agreement and flipping the card over so the text couldn’t even be seen anymore. Maybe that’ll make him feel better? “That’s okay! I don’t really know who that is anyway, don’t think I’ve ever met her. Though if she’s someone political, I guess that makes sense. I don’t really pay a lot of attention to that kinda stuff.” She probably should though.
A little disappointing, honestly. If this ‘Edelgard’ is important enough to the organizers to be a topic all on her own, she’s probably super nice! Or she’s the worst. Political people always seem to be one of the two, in her experience.
“These are just suggestions anyway, right? I’m sure they won’t get mad if we talk about something else if we don’t like the topic! This is supposed to be fun, after all!”

[Sparkling Water]
With the amount of nohrian royalty he had spotted from afar, it shouldn’t surprise him that he’d spot the princess in here too- and yet he couldn’t help but be a little taken aback when he saw the slightly familiar sight of her blond hair with purple streaks among the crowd.
While Lutz aimed to become a knight for the royal nohrian army, he also knew that his father was one of the princess’ retainers- so by extension, Lutz should be extra loyal to her as well. It shouldn’t be too hard however, considering Lutz only ever heard good things about the princess, and of how she was a kind and strong person. To him that’s more than enough.
“Lady Elise! I’m glad to see you here!” He walked up to her, doing a quick salute with his free hand and offering her a glass of the funny drink he had come across earlier. “There, I got this for you! It tastes funny, like it’s somethin' crinklin'. It tickles your mouth!”
“You’re Pop’s liege, and I’m his sidekick, so I gotta answer to you too! Lutz at your service, ready to dish out justice!”
The Nohrian princess blinked, her mind taking a moment to connect with what her eyes were seeing. Huh. This guy kinda looks like Arthur. Sounds like him too, like they could be related or something.
…WAIT A SECOND.
“Lutz?! You’re here too?! Hehe, it’s so good to see you!” What is with people from back home she hasn’t seen in forever handing her sparkling water today?
She takes the water from the other with a smile and the habitual ‘thank you’, though her attention is immediately shifted to scanning the surrounding area for the others father. A little accidentally rude? Potentially. But a girl can hope for her retainers!
Though, of course he’s not here. If Arthur was here, a chandelier would probably be crashing down somewhere or something. Or a wyvern would be walking through the door. She giggles a little at the funny mental image of that — a wyvern in the ball? That’s just silly.
Hey actually that mental image looks kinda a little too real? Her imagination is good, but not that good. And the more she looks at it, it kinda looks like Ace…??? “Did you… bring your wyvern…??”
“…Aw, man! Nobody told me we were allowed to do that! You’re telling me I could’ve had my horse in here this whole time?!”

[ Sparkling Water ] - Fresh spring water that has been magically carbonated. Served with a squeeze of lime or a dash of one of the many fruit syrups available at the bartender’s disposal.
"Lady Elise...?"
So Princess Camilla was not lying to her...not that she'd have a reason to. Flora catches herself wanting to turn around and hide in the garden's bushes once more. But this is Elise, the kindest soul of the four nobles. It has always been somewhat fun to serve her...even if the fun was never truly genuine.
"Please help yourself to this fresh water. There's sides of fruit syrups to try as well," Flora holds forward a small platter of the sparkling water glass alongisde small cups of rainbow-colored syrups.
"Also...take one of my pearls for brooch exchange. Your own exchange...is not necessary if not desired," Flora places a pearl from her string in front of the beverage.
Elise gasps, very clearly surprised by the appearance of her sibling’s old retainer. “Flora! You’re here too?!” Though she’s less surprised to see her offering out a tray to her, and more surprised by the fact she’s here at all. The tray things pretty expected honestly. “It’s SO good to see you! It’s been forever!” She can’t even remember the last time she saw her. Was it that time with the Ice Tribe thing…?
…Did she ever apologize to her directly for that? It was kinda her fault they started fighting since she brought it up, even if it was an accident…
…Eh, she probably did if Flora’s not bringing it up. That seems like a thing that would be mentioned if she didn’t. She especially doesn’t think she would be offering her stuff if she never apologized, anyway.
“Of course I desire! Here, take mine too.” She quickly reaches for her own brooch, the little bell jingling in her hand as she removes it to swap places with the one on the tray. “You did so much for Corrin, this is the least I can give you as thanks, right?”
She smiles up at the familiar face for a moment before reaching towards the glass, but something stops her before she grabs it. Has Flora had one? No, probably not. That doesn’t seem fair. This is a ball! A party! She should be having fun too! It’s not fair if she’s not.
But she’s met Flora. She’s met all of the people who were assigned to her sibling at one point or another. If she offered something to them normally they’d probably just refuse it. Something about ‘professionalism’ or whatever.
…Best way to go about it is probably to make it seem like agreeing would be for her benefit, not Flora’s. Like a favor. Yeah. Then she’d be having fun, but still technically be doing her job! The perfect crime.
“Hm… I don’t really wanna be the only one having one. That feels awkward, you know? You should have one, too!”

“Oh, hold still for a second Elise. You’ve still got chocolate on your face.” Smiling, he reached over with a napkin to wipe the remainders of tonight’s dessert off her cheek.
Ask Meme from Here!
“Eeeehhhh…” Elise shrinks back in her chair, pouting a little as the napkin touches her face, though she of course makes no move to stop him. “Kamuiiiiii, I’m not a baby! I can do it myself!”
She remains pouting even after the napkin leaves her now-clean face, grumbling something about being an adult under her breath with crossed arms. Though even in her grumpy mumbling, there is a ‘thank you’ in there.
She’s still going to act upset for a little longer, but she could never actually be mad at him for more than a few seconds.

Late afternoon sunlight illuminates the monastery grounds by the time he finds her. "Happy birthday, Elise," he says warmly, holding up a hand to prevent the inevitable hug that will surely follow. "Please, save your hugs until after you open your gift. I'd hate for it to get crushed."
Leo extends the wrapped box held carefully in his free hand. The selection of chocolates inside will be fine; it's the folio of sheet music also tucked away he's worried about. Tracking down completed compositions of famous violinists--of which there are alarmingly few--in Fódlan was time consuming, but well worth his effort.
"Alright, now you may attack me," he teases, arms open wide. Defenseless, only for his baby sister.
Leo’s hand comes up just in time to stop her mid-run, causing her to instead awkwardly skidding to a halt in front of him with a slightly confused and disappointed pout. Though the pout doesn’t last long, immediately disappearing at the word ‘gift’. As was probably expected.
She struggles for a moment, trying her best to open it carefully like a normal person rather than just tearing at it like usual. If crushing it is enough of a concern to mean no hug, it’s gotta be super fragile! She’d feel awful if she broke it.
Her face lights up when she finally manages to defeat the packaging, only lighting up further when she actually sees what’s inside. “Oh my gosh, Leo! Where did you even find this?!”
Elise squeals as she flips through page after page of music excitedly, already itching to run back to her room to practice. But first, hug! Infinitely more important. She takes a moment to make sure she sets the box down in a safe place where nothing will happen to it, before finally allowing herself to launch herself at her big brother.
“Thank you thank you THANK YOU! I’m gonna memorize all this as fast as I can! Then I’m gonna put on a HUUUGE concert for you, Camilla, Xander— everyone! It’s gonna be the best, promise!”
