now listen to me, i know that the reason jack kelly doesn’t dance in livesies is because of jeremy jordan HOWEVER. i would like to speak on it making sense to his character.

jack kelly is a leader. jack kelly is the father and watcher-over of the manhattan boys. yes, jack kelly doesn’t dance bc jeremy jordan doesn’t dance BUT!! it’s so much better when you think about it as: jack kelly doesn’t dance because he doesn’t have time to dance. jack kelly doesn’t dance because he’s busy watching the other boys. jack kelly doesn’t dance because when someone inevitably gets hurt doing backflips, he will be the one to pick them up and dust them off while the others continue doing their thing

see also: jack kelly doesn’t dance because crutchie can’t dance. in the world will know, you can see jack & crutchie in the back sitting at the bottom of the stairs. they’re messing around; jack is smelling his shoe, shaking it, making sure its on tight. he’s sitting there, laughing with crutchie as they watch the others run around. jack kelly doesn’t dance because he doesn’t want crutchie to feel left out, so he stands there with him and opts to be a hype man instead. even when he does “dance” (which is more shaking his arms and doing some sort of joke), he’s always messing with crutchie. ex. him pretending to get hit by crutchie’s crutch, him and crutchie joke fighting during the “soakin’ every sucker that we can” line

i just think it makes it so much better to think jack doesn’t dance strictly because he doesn’t have time to AND because he cares too much about crutchie to!!

was anybody else apart of the outsiders fandom on instagram in like 2019 & one of the accounts you followed posted a spot conlon (92sies) edit & the intro was the scene where he says "any scab i see i soak em. PERIOD!!"

and you were like "wow what a cool character im in love with him" and then you lost the edit and never found what the movie was until you somehow discovered it on disney+ a year later & it became your new obsession, or is that just me? 😀

something about the newsboys being the cool varsity jocks in high school that are super sweet to everyone, like the schools’ own personal bodyguards 

like imagine some kid nervously inviting them to some party & all they give them is a short “okay” and a nod before turning back to whatever they’re doing. and then when they show up at the part they (very intamidatingly) ask the host “are you so-and-so?” and then say “cool, nice party” and start high fiving these random kids.

jack shoving some random bullies to the floor and scaring them off while david picks up all of the freshmans papers, while racetrack picks the kid up and dusts him off
