But one minute she was fine , and another minute one of her teacher snapping at her to pay attention , had sent her running from the classroom , and when that hall wasn't good enough , home seemed to be the only place that seemed safe.

Everything seemed , off from what was happening. But suddenly she though everyone was following her. Of course nobody was following her. But that wasn't quite as simple as it always worked.

She picked up the pace to get back to the house , finding comfort when nobody was home. Good. She knew Jamie was going to be at school still , but she had hoped nobody would be home so she could calm herself down unnoticed.

But large houses meant she couldn't be sure nobody was home.

Running for the stairs , she climbed them with earnest to get to her room , throwing the door open , and slamming it shut before crossing to the corner across from the door , and sinking to a sitting position. She pulled her knees up to her chest , holding them close to her before burying her head in her knees.

It still didn't change that she didn't know what to do when it came to any of the activities Kara had planned for her on the week of her birtday.
