Vologda Aviation Enterprise is a regional airline with its head office on the territory of Vologda Airport in Vologda, Russia. It operates scheduled domestic and regional passenger services, maintenance of commercial flights, transportation services for gas and oil pipelines, as well as provides search and rescue operations. Vologda Aviation Enterprise traces its history back to September 1, 1931, when the first aircraft landed on the new air-strip, flying on the route Moscow – Yaroslavl – Vologda – Arkhangelsk. In 1969, the airline received its first Yakovlev Yak-40 aircraft. In 1978 a new Vologda airport was built, it gave impetus to the development of aviation in the region. The current structure of the Vologda fleet includes Yakovlev Yak-40, Antonov An-2 and Mi-8 helicopters.

От "Яковлева" — Иркутску!

10 августа 1934 года, ровно 90 лет назад, на иркутском аэродроме в Боково звено самолетов АИР-6, разработанных А.С. Яковлевым, завершило первый этап (с 5 августа) большого спортивного перелета Москва-Иркутск-Москва, преодолев 4 471 км за 36 часов 55 минут без происшествий и поломок. Это был первый дальний групповой перелет легких самолетов СССР.

Yakovlev Yak-40 Aeroflot

Aeroflot is the common name for most of the civil aviation of the USSR with a lot of state–owned aviation enterprises and institutions. Founded in 1923, it is one of the oldest airline in the world. On the basis of Order No. 100 of the Volga Directorate of the Civil Air Fleet dated September 20, 1945, in the city of Ulyanovsk, a Separate Aviation Unit was formed, which included three Polikarpov-2 aircraft. Almost twenty years later, in August 1969, the Ulyanovsk Separate Aviation Unit was transformed into the 324th Joint Aviation Squadron. It also consisted of three aviation squadrons, which indicates its significant potential and importance for the country's civil aviation.
