can't reblog that poll about 'how do you boil water' still too traumatised by how many people default to using the microwave. i rarely even drink tea and i have an electric kettle for such occasions as a friend visiting or attempting to save energy by boiling water in the kettle before transferring it to the hob for pasta-making.

#of all the meaningless transatlantic disconnects this is the one that most shakes me in my innards. NO KETTLES.#but they drink coffee all the time! though i hear that the Starbucks drinks i thought were coffee are in fact mostly sugar?#and pumpkin spice lattes do NOT contain pumpkins. even though Americans eat pumpkins don't they? at Halloween.#i bet this is why they were upset about us taxing their tea - 18th century microwaves were shit and their tea wasn't worth the new price :(#i say 'microwave' i probably mean ben franklin with a glowing rock sent to him by his cousin in england; they had to make do in them days #“ah but if we attach the kite to the kettle -” “BENJAMIN NO.”
