small gripe but I think the one thing some people need to understand for us spaus shippers we enjoy more than the canon baseline and tend to be inclined for the history and even then it's the whole opposites attract that makes it so interesting because the two most unlikely people getting together makes for such a unique dynamic to explore
if it works for every other major and crack pair in existence of the fandom, why do I still see this observation targeting spaus from time to time
#This is just ranting on my end#like shut up#and also from my own personal fandom experience#i will say other austria ship spaces suck lol#like honest to god mischarasterization is one thing but the way austria is often written#is just some filler guy for the other person in the pairing to work out their shit#spaus is the only space for me where it's smaller and chiller and everyone has a tacit agreement#on how involved the two are in the pairing without discounting the other#sorry lol#that's why you are not seeing me ever engaging with other hetalia related content#1) i don't care.#2) ive seen and dealt with enough shit from my long years involved in the fandom#3) doesn't mean id be a public hater i know to keep it on the low and just block stuff#i have over 50+ ships and characters muted so i don't see any of it lmfao#im that bitter fandom veteran yeah#i just don't let it show as much 🫶#“ohhh but separate the source material and the fandom!!!”#have you considered engagement with said source material equates to opening up communication with the fandom#like ???#im here for my blorbos and that's it#im in my lane it stays that way thx

There's a spirit of yes-anding ideas and I think there's a lot of encouragement among fans
People really genuinely like the source material and are passionate about it
Lots of really talented creative people :)
2. a headcanon you weren't sure about at first but have come to like!
🤔 I had to think about this one... When I first saw the headcanon that Trapper had a brother who died in WWII I thought it was a bit random, but it has grown on me as an interesting background for some of his more pessimistic moments and helps differentiate him from Hawkeye.
16. a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate
Ohhh I had to think about this one too... Trapper providing medical care for the adjacent village, and specifically doing it separately from Hawkeye, is interesting to me and I think really under explored in fan works. I also think that Charlie and the black market subplot characters could be interesting!
