Yu blinks, staring at the fresh bouquet in his hands. Or... not-so-fresh, as it's already starting to wilt in his care...

"Huh? Wait, come back--"

He doesn't give chase, though. Instead he opts to look at the flowers.

"They're... quite nice, actually. I'll find an old vase for them and leave them in the guest room. Hopefully no one starts in a fight in there and breaks it..."

Iris sighs. He's swirling around a glass of what appears to be wine in his hand. Is that even allowed?

" Good evening. Have you seen Axel anywhere, by chance? ....I am asking because I heard Vanrouge stopped by. "

Iris sighs again, this time looking more exasperated. " It's none of your buisness, really, but I don't want that man to drag Axel into any mischievous hijinks again. Seriously, the lot of you youngsters are so easily influenced... Enough to drive me up the wall, I tell you. "

"Ah...?"

Yu seriously wants to question the alcohol, but it's scary talking back to someone so dignified and elegant... and someone so old-sounding... Not that that's a bad thing! It's just--okay, the more he tries to justify himself, the deeper of a grave he digs.

"Uh, I don't think so? Sorry that I'm not of much help..."

He laughs awkwardly.

"But isn't it good for him to get into a little bit of mischief? I mean, we're kids, this is the best time for us to cause some trouble... especially if there's people around to supervise... right?"

" Oh, so is that why you kids cause trouble? Because you know there's people like me to clean up after you? "

Iris says sarcastically. He tuts as he rolls his eyes lightheartedly.

" I suppose that is true..... No, nevermind. I remember when Axel told me that Floyd taught him how to craft a molotov cocktail. And he said it so casually, even.... "

Iris takes a long sip of his wine, as if merely thinking about it was enough to give him a headache. He then narrows his eyes at Yu, as if he suddenly remembered something.

" ...Hm. You seem vaguely familiar. Do you happen to be that first-year that stumbled in from another world and caused quite a scene, during the entrance ceremony this year? "

Iris asks with intrigue, looking him up and down.

The longer Iris looks at him, the more Yu feels himself (metaphorically) wilting. Curse the stupid mages here and their habits of looking him over like he's a dish on the holiday dinner table...! He really wishes Ace or Deuce were here as emotional support shields--actually, no, not them. Maybe Jack because he's so tall and strong...

"I'm... not technically a first-year student, but... yes, that's me."

He averts his gaze to the ground, afraid and unwilling to make eye contact.

"Sorry for, y'know, causing such a disturbance back then."

People still don't let him live that down. At least some, like Floyd, take a positive sort of interest in it. Anyway, he hopes Iris will just dismiss it and they can keep moving on with their lives...

There's a very long, drawn-out pause from Chrysos as he stares at your joined hands. And then he pulls it away like he's been burned, hiding his expression all the while.

"...Do you fancy yourself a comedian?"

That's probably a 40-60% from the touch-starved mer.

Santiago laughs and squeezes your hand playfully. Parrots are very physically affectionate, so this is probably tame for him. 20%, you tried. Not like he has more rizz, though.

Yu blinks slowly, unsure what to do. He doesn't let go, though.

"S...sure. When are you going to need it back?"

He took that a little too literally, the full realization will hit him in a few moments. Upwards of 40-60% for when it does.
