kai was already out the door with his little sister by the time athena texted him back. instead of responding, he got into the car and glances back to make sure his sister was all buckled in before proceeding to thena’s house. lately the more his brother hung out with his girlfriend, the more he wanted to hang out with athena. he wanted to make comments that causes her to laugh and all that. as he pulled up towards her house, he shoots her a quick message telling her that he was out front, if mari wasn’t in the car, he definitely would’ve knocked on her door. ‘please hurry, mari’s giving me the death stare because this isn’t the froyo place.’ he decides to send another message before chuckling as his eyes fling towards the front of the house.

after receiving a message from her best friend, she reluctantly got out of cieran’s cuddles and headed to the bathroom to get ready. after many distractions (most of the distractions coming from her boyfriend) she placed mochi on her leashed and kissed her boyfriend goodbye before heading out the door to her best friend’s house. when she pulled up, her dog’s tail began to wag already knowing that she’ll be playing with her best friend. kalani walks up to the front door and as always she steps right inside. “you know, you should really keep your door locked,” she teases as she enters the house, letting her dog loose of her leash, while smiling up at her friend.

lately, she haven’t been in a good place and it reflected. she was inactive on social media for a while, which wasn’t ideal since it was basically her job. she was on the verge of graduating college, she had to finalize her designs for her merch as well as have meetings with her manager regarding the makeup line she was coming out with and on top of that the one person she wanted to talk to her the most wasn’t. the stress was getting to her, so she did the one thing she knew that would make her feel better -- inviting athena over to have a girls night, she was lonely and her being lonely resulted in thinking about cieran. he still haven’t said a thing to her and it was slowly killing her. she missed him, a lot more than she was leading on. here they were in her bedroom, having a random show playing in the background, but it was completely disregarded. snacks were scattered everywhere and wine was served in their tall glasses. “thena... what does this even mean?” she frowns, “how is he going to send me all of this and still not talk to me?”

with her merch sells going skyrocket, finalizing her makeup palette colors, and school starting up once again, she felt busier than ever. using any available time with her boyfriend, she figured that it was time for a girls day with her best friend. after leaving her last class, she sent out a message to cier telling her that she was going to spend time with athena before coming back. despite everything being busy, she felt like she had everything on track compared to last semester where she felt like she was drowning everyday. a smile forms across her lips as she spots her best friend, “hey!” she exclaims, pulling her into a tight hug. “sorry, i’ve been so busy lately... and there’s also something big i wanna talk to you about, but before that how are you doing? how’s tink? any news for me?”

kalani had been spending most of her time with cieran and studying for her finals and with finals around the corner, she practically shut off the whole world to ensure she will pass. deciding she needed a break from studying, her and athena made plans to watch christmas movies together at her place and she found that it’ll be right to tell athena in person about her and cieran finally getting their shit together. dressed in her christmas pjs with one of cieran’s hoodies, she made way to the other’s house. hands full of junk food for the two to devour. without knocking, she enters the door, closing it shortly after with her leg. the items in hand were now scattered across the counter. “thena! i’m here!” the female calls.

the night was going, he tries his best to be social, but he was failing. he didn’t know how to be this social when the only person he wanted to talk to wasn’t actually talking to him. he catches her playing with her puppy every now and then. much like his brother who kept eyeing kalani the entire night, he was doing the same -- except instead of kalani it was towards athena. he wasn’t sure how to approach her, plus he doesn’t even know if she wanted to talk to him. sipping on the beer in hand, he takes a breath. moving towards the female as he licks his lips. “hey.” he simply says as he moves besides the other. “the taco casserole was great,” he adds.
