GET LOST.  ›  AUGUST ݃ 2023

SYNOPSIS.  is anyone really surprised? it runs in the family

STARRING.  hwang ‘aster’ haein .. zhou lanfen .. unnamed casting director

DURATION.  512 words

CW + NOTE.  threats of blackmail .. racism + in the distance, you see mindeulle and gyuri sharing a high five and proud smile 💗

“i’m not apologizing.” the leader announces, her stern tone effortlessly stunning the casting director.

a gasp belatedly slips out as he stares at aster, appalled by the younger girl’s behavior. he tries to look furious, but comes out constipated. “why not? i was merely teaching that hideous foreigner of yours to apologize after making me drop all my papers. though, given your interference, perhaps your whole group should be taught a lesson.”

“is that so?” she paints a smirk on her crimson lips, head tilted slightly to the side. aster scans the supposedly professional man, only to lightly tsk at what she sees. her blood was already boiling after she witnessed him berating kokomi, even though the idol was already picking up the documents (which, in fact, she didn’t have to do since it was the man who bumped into her). despite sending the younger off to their waiting room, he still wouldn’t shut his mouth, so now..

she’s going to do it for him.

“well i know you must learn that your position does not give you the right to look down on others, regardless of their status. we may be new to the music industry, but at least we own up to our mistakes and fix them.”

just as aster expected, the casting director’s visage turns even more sour. it’s no surprise that his voice rises too.. “how dare you speak to me like that? just wait until i get your names on the blacklist, let’s see if anyone will ever cast your pathetic group ever again!”

the cherry-dyed idol calmly shrugs her shoulders. without skipping a beat, she tells the disgusting man, “i’m not sure you’ll be able to do that after your boss hears how you treat your guests.. don’t you think so, lanfen?”

“i agree, unnie.” lo and behold, the second eldest moves away from the wall with a phone in her hand. but it isn’t the gadget that drains the confidence out of the casting director—it’s the video that contains the entire confrontation. “imagine that, just one click and woosh! it goes straight to your superiors.”

infuriated, the narcissist impulsively lunges at lanfen, only to grasp nothing after the latter smoothly steps to the side. she strides across the corridor to stand with her leader, satisfaction brushed upon their faces. they look at the phone and feign surprise at the notification displayed on the screen:

video has been sent!

“oopsy, my finger must have slipped~” lanfen giggles, absolutely unapologetic of her actions.

why should she? the man had to be knocked down his pedestal.

with the bow finally stuck on top of the present, the two idols link arms and turn around, ready to head back to their waiting room. but right after taking a few steps, aster stops and turns around. though she appears calm, the stare she directs at the once haughty director elicits chills sprinting down her spine.  

“remember, her name is kokomi. not hideous foreigner—kokomi. while you’re at it, go get your eyes fixed so you can admire the beauty she possesses.”

it might come as a shock to everyone but aster has never been in a relationship that’s lasted longer than a year :/ she came close before but that it turned sour after she found out something he’d done so she broke up with him and ended up back on square one..

mhhh.. water

aster used to have a fear of water- wait, that doesn’t sound right- she used to be scared of large bodies of water, like the ocean. which is why when the time came to film her solo debut m/v, she was worried since it involved swimming in a pool (something that she had suggested as that’s something one would associate with summer)..

but lanfen and kokomi were there to cheer her on, hype her up because she deserves it 👑 the support boosted her so much that by the end of the shoot, her fear was losing its grip on her < 33

"time"

back in 2016, aster was supposed to debut as a member of a girl group. this was it, after watching her friends debut, it was her turn. but she was taken off the lineup—told that it wasn’t her time yet.

as if she’d actually believe that; the company was so bad at lying. it was obvious; they didn’t believe was on par with the two girls who had just wrapped up their time as members of i.o.i 🙂
