anyway okay so sad people wip is a concept that floated into my brain a while ago and didn't get much development and ngl i almost scrapped it entirely,

BUT yes!!!!! so sad people wip can best be summed up as: a group of strangers, who have each reached rock bottom in various ways, end up becoming each other's closest friends and support system and help each other find reasons to keep going.

premise in more detail: four strangers come to the same building on the same day with the intent of ending their lives. however, none of them ended up going through with it, because in the end having other people there made them all reconsider. the group ends up keeping in touch and becoming friends, helping each other find reasons to live and cope with living in the hell world.

Angel De Santis - he/him

Angel has recently been dumped by his long-time girlfriend AJ, who he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Without her, he's lost his main support system, and he's been floundering. He's also slowly starting to realize that this relationship was not as healthy as it seemed to him at the time.

Phoebe Ross - she/her

Ross is a recovering drug addict who recently relapsed after a year and a half of sobriety. She feels as though she's let everyone down and is terrified to face her loved ones after, and part of her believes that she'll never be able to get back up again and that she's ruined everything for real this time.

Dr. Scott Wells - he/him

Scott is a successful surgeon at a local hospital whose life was recently upended by a traumatic car accident. Unfortunately, his wife and daughter did not survive the accident. Now, Scott is struggling to put his life back together without the people that were most important to him, all the while dealing with his own trauma following the incident.

Ezra Navarro Álvarez - they/them

Ezra is a recent widower whose wife passed away after a long battle with cancer, leaving them alone to raise their young son. Unfortunately, their wife's family has started a long, painful, drawn-out custody battle with them, insisting that Ezra is unfit to be a parent. Though Ezra is fighting for their son the best they can, they're starting to lose hope, and they've had no time to grieve their loss on top of everything.

Con la mesa “No se mata la verdad matando periodistas” dedicada a Javier Valdez y todos los periodistas que han sido asesinados a causa de su labor periodística, se dieron por clausuradas las actividades de la Feria internacional del Libro Nezahualcóyotl 2017, la cual se llevó a cabo por quinto año consecutivo y registró una asistencia total de más de 40 mil personas, así lo informó el presidente municipal Juan Hugo de la Rosa García.

El alcalde condenó la crisis que vive la libertad de expresión en México e indicó que el ejercicio del periodismo no debe ser motivo para perder la vida, por ello en la FIL Neza como un tributo a Javier Valdez se realizó una mesa delicada al tema del riesgo que implica ejercer el periodismo en México y el derecho a la población de estar bien informados.

Detalló que, en un ambiente reflexivo, los periodistas Pepe Reveles, Blanche Petrich y Paula Mora plantearon las dificultades de ejercer el periodismo en el país, pues no sólo se abordó la peligrosidad de ejercer el periodismo en México, sino que se plantearon diversas soluciones para evitar que ocurra un asesinato más en contra de periodistas, pues está claro que no se mata la verdad matando periodistas.

Señaló que durante la Feria se realizaron diversas actividades artísticas, destacando las presentaciones de los libros: “Patria” de Paco Ignacio Taibo II y “Corazón sicario” del joven escritor Gibrán Valle, además de las participaciones artísticas de Mario Iván Martínez, Calacas Jazz Band, Salario Mínimo y Gabino Palomares.

De la Rosa García dio a conocer que durante los cinco días que duró la FIL se regalaron 15 mil libros con diferentes temáticas a los más de 40 mil asistentes a la Feria, sumando un total histórico de más de 45 mil ejemplares obsequiados, incluyendo títulos de escritores originarios de Nezahualcóyotl.

Resaltó que luego de cinco años de realización, en la FIL Neza ha sido de suma importancia acercar a la población, no solo de Nezahualcóyotl, sino de otras delegaciones y municipios vecinos, libros a precios accesibles, pues en ella se ofertaron diferentes ejemplares de todos los géneros literarios a precios accesibles, pues hay ofertas que van desde 10 pesos.

Finalmente, el presidente municipal aseguró que la Feria ha cumplido desde su creación con el objetivo de impulsar el hábito de leer y la cultura a través de actividades artísticas y musicales, por lo que puntualizó continuarán los esfuerzos para lograr que cada vez sean más los nezatlenses que se adentren en el maravilloso mundo de la lectura y la FIL Neza sea una de las más importantes de México.

La FIL Neza 2017 contó con las participaciones de los escritores Raúl Argemí, David Brooks, Gerardo H. Porcayo, Alejandro Carrillo, Jorge Belarmino Fernández, Ezra Alcázar, Aarón Álvarez, Paula Mónaco, entre otros, los cuales compartieron con los asistentes sus puntos de vista y debatieron sobre diversos temas como economía, política, migración, entre otros de gran relevancia para el país.
