The mountain breeze chilled him and tousled his hair, but Toren didn't mind. He'd follow Bryn anywhere, anytime -- and this time, it had taken them to the top of a peak, with a view so breathtaking pictures would never compare.

He couldn't really enjoy it, though.

How was he supposed to tell Bryn that he was going to leave? His heart ached. But it had ached even more these past few years; this past decade, while he'd been pining after him like a lost dog for its master. He didn't want to ruin their friendship... so he'd take himself out of the picture, before he could make it any worse. "B, your hair's all over."

Okay I'm gonna kick a door down here.

Upon my research on "bad days" for Heinz to be born on I came across an article on "Hate Days."

Hear me out. This is the explanation of a Hate Day:

But okay, don't you guys think that Drusselstinians would indeed have a day where they hated everything on purpose? Kind of like The Purge movies, but you don't murder anyone; you just go off about how you hate someone to their face and it's perfectly normal to do.

Well, what if Heinz was born on that day?

It would perfectly explain why they hate him so much, and verbally / physically / emotionally destroy him. It would also explain why, no matter what we see in the show, he's generally unhappy on his birthday and/or assumes nobody wants to spend the day with him.

Anyway this is my headcanon now. Hate Day.

What a year!

I know I haven't known you a -- nevermind, I have known you for more than a year now! Yay! It's been a ride; I'm amazed that we have managed to create so much together, from little stories to a whole wedding experience.

I'm so glad to know you! You're kind, funny, beautiful inside and out, and you're one of the only people who can make me laugh. Thank you for being there for me and keeping my spirits up when I'm down. You're such a good friend!

I hope you enjoy my present to you and look back on it fondly, as I'm sure I will (after crying about it.) I wrote it with your happiness in mind and I hope to continue making you happy with my presence and my work.
