It's a tense kind of quiet, Fox doing his best with the meagre scraps of bindings they could find, or make. They haven't argued, but it wasn't far off - Hartley too concerned with beating herself up for getting hurt in the first place to think she deserved any sort of healing. At least not tonight - perhaps tomorrow, when the shame wasn't so raw.

What would her father say, after all?

The quiet stretches on, and finally Fox finishes fussing, seemingly satisfied. With that, at least.

Unwilling to let the discontent linger, Hartley reaches out before he can go too far, catching his hand in hers. "Thankyou, Fox."

Lottie is looking a little disappointed as she scrolls a few social media apps on her phone, letting out a sigh at the attempted homogenization of the UI for many different sites causing them to all look too similar but still somehow opposite. Not the most enjoyable thing to encounter in the modern realities.

THE SEER BREATHED A SIGH-- IN EQUAL PARTS RELIEF AND BOREDOM THAT STEMMED FROM A SIMILAR MANNER OF FINISHING THE LAST CHAPTER TO A HARROWING STORY. Not even the company of her guildmates’ nor the changes the Master had implemented stirred her interest. Since the new buildings completed construction, the Seer was tethered with distractions that divided her attention. Between her usual routine of drinking ( where she could indulge in her vice in peace and quiet ), of finding a solo job or one where she would occasionally partner with another, Cana had little free time to spare for anything else. Yet she found herself meandering near the entrance, obliged to wait and greet Natsu and his rag-tag group when they arrived. 

She was just as eager as the rest of the guild to introduce many of the changes that occurred during their absence. However, there was two very distinct changes that Cana felt compelled by curiosity to linger nearby for the Master to reveal: two very unexpected and rather controversial introduction of one Gajeel Redfox and @rainfollowed​--former members of their fallen enemy, Phantom Lord. It certainly explained the sudden spike of tension among most of the guild members to be sure. 

No answers were given by the Master, as she expected. Which left Cana to be the one to seek her own answers and determine if their new guildmate’s possessed redeemable merit-- and perhaps remorse for their part in the destruction of her home-- or if they were to be treated with exercised caution. 

Only one way to find out.

THE MOMENT THE LIGHTS WENT OUT AND THE GENTLE STRUM OF MIRAJANE’S GUITAR RANG THROUGHOUT THE GUILD, CANA TOOK THE CHANCE TO SEAT HERSELF BESIDE THE INFAMOUS WATER MAGE. Three tankards of brew that she had already acquired ( let’s not examine just how exactly she managed to procure the drinks shall we? ) were set upon the table and distributed between her intended: herself, Gajeel, and Juvia.
