Lilia frowned while holding that book, turning it up and down as if hoping doing that silly action would somehow give him all the intelligence and common sense in the world.

He wasn't sure how long he kept doing such a thing, trying to comprehend what it was saying in every way possible until it got to the point Lilia was sitting upside down on the sofa, holding the book vertically and squinting.

Maybe his old age was finally catching up to him. Maybe his eyes were finally starting to get bad. Maybe Lilia would even die tomorrow and oh no, who would take care of that human kid and Malleus then? Oh no.

Meleanor would fucking murder him the moment he crossed the gates of wherever it is she was.

"... What are you attempting to do? How intriguing." Malleus was staring at them, standing straight and still as a statue under the entrance door.

"Oh, Malleus! You're finally home!" Lilia flopped down from the sofa, almost as if sliding from it and quickly turning back up, rushing up to his side and shoving the book to his face. "So, you see. Your dad is smart and all and surely he can read, you know! He's smart! He was a strong guard and all! But! Apparently your dad cannot comprehend human literature and therefore is unable to understand anything written in this book about how to take care of human babies and celebrate their birthdays!"

Malleus was Lilias last hope. Please, tell poor innocent Lilia that he can understand the language.

"... Lilia. I am quite certain this is a book about human cooking, not a parenting guide. And you seem to be on the chapter that tackles the history of human meat." Malleus mumbled from behind the book still being shoved at his face.

Oh, how miserable. At least Silver wasn't awake already to see his dad committing such a small, tiny, insignificant mistake as this.

Thankfully, Lilia would continue to be the excellent parent he was with his other sons help, now.

"... You two are the worst friends I could have ever had." Allen frowned, arm raised as he sat on the floor of their supposedly shared kitchen, but that honestly? Only Hajun ever used it.

"Not like this is our fault though, you know?" Anne chuckled while cleaning the (hopefully) last one of Allen's bruises, ignoring the hiss he let out when putting the bandage over it.

"Mhm. I thought you'd maybe grow some braincells once we moved there, away from all that noise, but it's entertaining to see you'll stay the same hip-hop addict we grew up with." Hajun snickered, doing his magic on the oven.

Allen sighed, slowly bringing himself up from the floor and groaning once he knocked his head on one of the wall cabinets. Ouch.

It's not like that was his fault! Now that the three were away from all that noise in the city, Allen was getting inspiration for songs easier than ever before, and that's only the fourth day they've been around!

How was he supposed to know he was stepping into others farm grounds when that inspiration struck him?

Most importantly, how was Allen supposed to know it was around the time the chickens would be let out and most of them would run up to him?

Annoying...

"Oh, yeah, by the way." Anne's voice broke his train of thought, turning around after they arranged the table. "Congrats on the paternity, Allen. I wish you would have told me before, but... You have a child now."

He what.

"I what." His mouth instantly repeated after his brain, eyebrows furrowing at Anne.

And then, a chicken popped into the kitchen, running to Allen's legs.
