Moreso of the stalker variety rather than hackin' + slashin' (unlike some notable...others'). If push came to shove he could be moved to more violent measures, but for the time being, Eli views himself as a 'silent protector' of sorts rather than a killer.

oh...boy. where to begin with Sandy here - for starters, she's a Jack of all trades when it comes to her love for you. Killing, kidnapping, stalking; you name it, she's probably done it.

A big ol' identity crisis when it comes to Sandy in this au - rather than being her authentic self (much like she is in 'normal' hoco), Sandy picks and chooses aspects from those close to you to incorporate into herself - that way, there's no chance of you turning her down!

Any ideas for what a modern au would look like? Would the characters be any different do you think? If yes, how so?

I love modern au stuff, I definitely need to post some of the art I made for it at sum point :3c On to your question tho -

HENRY: Fairly similar for the most part, biggest change I can see is him being obsessed with modern technology, especially social media and the like. Big fan of tik tok for sure! For sure cried when One Direction broke up.

LYRA: I see Lyra staying the same personality wise, but instead of her trad goth look I can see her having a more mall goth look (definitely a prospect I wanna draw soon hehe). On that note, would absolutely adore Hot Topic and would probably work there!

ELIJAH: Barely any change at all if I'm being honest - still very down to earth, so much so that he'd still have a flip phone while all of his friends have smart phones. A hint of weeb - big fan of Dragon Ball Z.

SANDY: BIG GAMER - has a massive pc set up that she put together herself! Still runs DnD sessions but moreso over discord! Has a whole server for it and everything, one you definitely have a invitation too.

BONUS - NICO: Definitely a reddit lurker - always lurking in replies of anything and everything. Has sent you at least a few dozen 'kys' on twitter LOL. Would still work at a record store or something along those lines. If not that, I also see him being a bit of neet :3c

Definitely the type to 'pine' from very, very far away. On the outside, most others would assume he cannot stand you, that if he could do it, he'd kill you. And, maybe they're not wrong.

Nico despises his feelings for you - you make him sick, make him want to wring out your neck, your life within his grasp. He wants to stab you, wants to tear you apart (insert 'Tear You Apart' by She Wants Revenge ref here) , wants to watch the life leave your eyes.

And yet, Nico also wants to hold you, wants to bury his face into your shoulder, wants to pull you close, so close you could hear his heart, hear how it beats for you and only you. It's a soft, tender dream - one he doesn't want to think about.

A stalker in every sense of the word - closet walls covered from top to bottom in polaroids, old clippings from your school's newspaper, gum wrappers tossed aside, every movie, record, anything you've rented from Rewind Rental. He catalogues every item, every scrap from you - nothing gets forgotten.

Would Henwy ever be honest about his feelings(insecurities) if the MC knew they were hiding how they really felt and were hurt about it?

It would take a lot, and I mean a lot of reassurance from you for Henry to really open up in regards to their insecurities. Despite how close the two of you are, Henry still has lingering doubts in how much you actually like him - they know their feelings for you to be genuine, but can the same be said about yours for him?

But if you were to tell him that you were hurt by him hiding this from you, Henry would immediately crumble and bare every little insecurity - seeing you in any form of pain, whether it be emotional or physical, is Henry's number one weakness (even if it ends up hurting them in the process).

HENRY: Surprisingly, not too over the top! If we're being honest, they'd probably accidentally let it slip!

LYRA: you'd have to confess first Lyra's feelings would eventually enter a boiling point + she'd act on impulse, not really thinking in the moment + would just spit it out.

ELIJAH: While Eli would rather cope + avoid any confrontation, he'd eventually work up the nerve to just tell you how he feels - if anything, to get it over with faster so he can move on (he goes into it fully expecting rejection </3).

SANDY: Would very much frame it as a 'haha, unless....?' joke but would lead into confessing her feelings for you.

Before we do horny ask, Henry is still a yan. What will be his reaction to MC breaking up with him?

oh...boy.....

Denial. Lots and lots of denial. Henry's in shock, eyes wide, watching you with a blank expression.

You're breaking up with them? Why? Why would you do that when he's finally got you?

He knows you're explaining why, explaining why this isn't working out but static fills Henry's ears, fills their senses. It...it couldn't have been something he'd done, right? He's been playing the part perfectly; why, he was born to be your boyfriend, your partner. There's nothing he could have done for it to lead to this.

He's reaching, fingers outstretched but it stops halfway, grasping pathetically at the air as you turn from them, leaving. He just needs to grab you, needs to hold you, needs you to just stay with him -

Henry doesn't do anything - for the first time in their life, they're torn between what they want + what you want. For the first time, these wants aren't aligning; they're splitting apart, away from the other.

Henry lets you go, lets you leave, their arm still outstretched, despair sinking in.

Does Henry try to hide his insecurities/self-worth issues around MC? If so, how does he try to hide them?

Yep! Henry for sure has a bit of a 'front' when it comes to you! It's not that he thinks he needs to be on his guard or anything with you - it's just they're worried you might think less of them otherwise!

Henry has a problem with being honest about how he 'really' feels - they constantly insist that they're alright when in reality...they're probably not! They just don't want you to worry.

It's very rare for him to actually be open / vulnerable with you, but it defnitely has happened before. (+ will probably happen again)!

its official, this is becoming my one of top 10 fav ifs and the demo hasn't even come out - after reading henry's character info, i think im more in love. but anyways i have a question: can our Mc be oblivious to the henry's nature to either the point of just absolute denial (love me some angst) or "oblivious" bcuz mc under everything feels a similar way or does henry hav to be the only coocoo person in the relationship?

As for your question, yes, I am planning on there being options for mc to be oblivious to Henry's....tendencies! It's a trope I very much enjoy; something about these terrible things happening and the mc not being aware of who's doing it until it's too late is just too delicious for me to pass up skhfskf.

And on the other end, I would like for a 'detective-esque' option for mc as well, although, the ability to catch Henry (specifically) fully will probably be limited to certain routes (and not only in terms of romance routes - perhaps other choices may be more important than you'd initially think :3c).

And for the just as crazy route for mc in regards to Henry (or anyone really), I will say that's probably gonna be limited to headcanon / au territory for now, sorry :'3. But that may change in the future! We'll just have to see :)

Can any of them sing? What do they sound like and what kind of music do they like?

HENRY: This one's really, really obvious but...JD from the Heathers Musical. As for music he likes, it's mostly whatever you're into! But if he had to pick something, probably pop, like Wham! and Tears for Fears.

LYRA: I can't really explain it, but I think Lyra's singing voice claim could be Lana Del Rey - I feel like it just fits her. Lyra's into more goth (obviously) and alternative music, like Siouxsie & the Banshees and The Smiths.

ELIJAH: Another one I really can't explain - Hozier. It probably has something to do with how soft most of his songs are! Elijah has a pretty wide range in music taste so he doesn't have a favorite genre in particular, but some artists he likes are Queen and Elton John.

SANDY: I feel like country-era Taylor Swift could be a good singing voice claim for Sandy! She grew up with country music in her home, so she's very fond of artist like Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton, but she also really likes ABBA!

How would each one handle rejection if they confessed to mc let’s say maybe mc had a crush on someone else?

HENRY: Screaming, crying, throwing up Tries to be supportive / understanding, but is very bad at it - it's extremely obvious how disappointed they are. Constantly brings up how they'd be a better significant other for you than your crush -_-

LYRA: Brushes it off fairly easy in the moment, but goes home to get blackout wasted as a way to distract herself. Takes the longest to get over it (that is, if she ever gets over it).

ELIJAH: The most mature - very understanding + handles it like a champ. Never mentions it again + wishes you the best of luck w/ your crush!

SANDY: A bit disappointed, but understanding! She'd go home + cry but afterwards, would act as if nothing has changed between the two of you!

HENRY: Splishin + splashin in the ocean! Would be the type to instigate chicken fights, be dunking people underneath the water - just a general menace all around.

LYRA: Tucked under a umbrella, shades on and far away from both the ocean and all the commotion. Would def be listening to music + doze off - unbothered queen. (That is until Henry flings seaweed at her -_-).

ELIJAH: If Claire came with him, he'd build sand castles with her + just keep a eye on her for the most part! But if she wasn't brought along, Eli would just walk up and down along the shoreline, enjoying the scenery + the like ^^

SANDY: Would try + get everyone to either join in a game of beach volleyball or frisbee, with mixed results...regardless, she tries, and if that fails, she'd grab a boogie board + head on out to the waves.

I know henry snd lyra would prefer not to have kids but if they were.. what if mc died from childbirth? Would they blame the child for mc's death? and would they take care of the kid after mc's gone?

Lyra wouldn't entertain the idea of children at all (something she most certainly won't budge on, even for you) so I won't include her reaction ^^

As for Henry though, they would 100% blame the child for your death. He already was uncertain in the whole thing (it's moreso he went along w/ it bc you wanted a child so bad) but this would be devastating for them. It would for sure be akin to a final straw, and would absolutely leave the child behind / not take care of it.

I mean, how could they? This infant, this thing took you away from him...it's a miracle he doesn't just kill the little parasite.

HENRY: Likes to squeeze the back of your neck before 'asking' (in quotes bc it's more of a statement ie: "we should totally make out right now."). Very rarely do you have to be the one to ask - Henry's always down for some smooching.

LYRA: Grabs your jaw and pulls you into her. Doesn't really ask - it's pretty obvious what she wants. Always lets you initiate first before she goes all in.

ELIJAH: Glances at your lips a lot - gets embarrassed when he (always) gets caught. You'll have to be the one to ask; Eli's too flustered to ask for a kiss LOL.

SANDY: Grabs and pinches at your face, smushing your lips and cheeks to make silly expressions. It's about 50/50 as to who asks / makes the first move.
