Lenneth's main weapon of choice is a racket, though she uses it as a method to channel her magic as opposed to using it for physical attacks. But as she begins the beginning of her journey silenced because she doesn't want to use her voice, she's best at buffing allies with her dancing. Her ultimate weapon is the Dreamcatcher.

Lenneth’s father was essentially her mother’s groupie, she’s not too aware of his identity and whatever brief relationship her mother had with him was long over by the time she was born. By the time she’s nineteen, he has his own family, a daughter with a faint resemblance to her and twin sons. Needless to say, the siblings don’t all have a strong bond and Lenneth’s not even aware that they exist. A shame as she’s always wanted a sibling or two and had a pretty lonely childhood due to her ‘career’ starting early.
Her mother, Kahji, used to be a songstress and a white mage herself, talented, pretty, and overall a kind soul who got a little too attached to the attention she got when she was on the stage. When Amami Lenneth was born she continued to perform, finally stopping when her daughter was eight, by then their relationship was cold and distant. Even after Lenneth’s own singing career took off their relationship is more akin to a manager and a client than a mother and a daughter.

The first thing that goes when Lenneth is about to disappear is her voice, maybe it's a cruel twist of fate that a songstress be silenced or maybe it's fitting that even the fayth can't dream of a world where Lenne's final words are heard.

Her voice is the first thing to go.
Her speaking voice has always been husky, years of forcing her vocal chords to reach that perfect pitch, but it doesn't even give, simply fading, fading until there's nothing but silence. A translucent hand grasps her throat and that's when she realises what's happening.
Dreams are delicate, ephemeral things after all.
She didn't even get to tell them her real name; Amami. And now she'll never be able to.
Goodbyes are not Lenneth's strong suit, there's always something left unsaid, words that were never spoken, so many things she wants to do. She's not good with them. She hates them. She'll never say 'goodbye' preferring to say 'see you later' or something like that. When she fades, because she's a dream, so she will, she leaves another thousand things left unsaid and to her that's worse than anything else.

This moment's enough.
Lenneth's mantra, born from a lifetime of fleeting moments, it's a comforting thought. If she can make every second of every interaction last and be meaningful, she won't have regrets. Because that's what she wants, a life where she leaves nothing unsaid and shares something real with those she cares about.
Eventually, she realises that even with this way of thinking, there are moments that just aren't enough. That will never be enough, she'll always regret not saying more.

Lenne’s memory is pretty fantastic, she keeps most of her lyrics in her head as opposed to writing them down (though I do think she has a song book, just for someone to find when she disappears because she’s a dream) and she tends to pick up on the little details. Because of this, she picks up Al Bhed relatively easily, she understands it much better than she speak it and there are probably words she can’t even pronounce or accidentally butchers, but she’s content to listen anyway.

5. how easily does your muse fall in love? 13. how easily would your muse get over a bad breakup?
SHIPPING MEME.
5. How easily does your muse fall in love?
Very. Sort of. Lenneth grew up with no need for attention but a want for affection, she’s the sort to get crushes easily, they’re just childish infatuations for when someone recognizes her as a person and not someone who’s famous. So she gets crushes easily, probably is quite obvious with them because she’s painfully inexperienced when it comes to dating someone for anything other than the clout. And obviously that’s not even dating that’s holding hands with someone in public to promote the fact they have a verse in your new song.
Upon discovering her true nature, however, it’s a lot harder to swallow the idea of falling in love with someone and I figure that even the very idea of it somehow terrifies her.
13. How easily would your muse get over a bad breakup?
Not very easily. Lenneth’s the sort to pour herself into a relationship, usually before she realizes that she’s doing it, I wouldn’t say she’s the sort who’s planning the wedding three months into a relationship but I would say she’d be blindsided by any sort of break-up. She’d try and find a creative outlet, but she’d most likely just lie in bed staring at the ceiling, contemplating what she’d done wrong.
It’d take time, let’s just put it that way.

Little things your muse does to show their significant other they care?
Soft Sunday meme
I think Lenne’s in love with the idea of domesticity, of having a ‘home’ to go to and someone to be there, so to show a significant other that she cares she’d probably cook their favourite food, make a conscious choice to go to their favourite places, . She’s also overprotective of friends in general because she has so few of them but with a significant other that want to protect them kind of doubles, so if anyone was to date Lenne all I can say is ‘good luck having a 5′3′’ pink-haired popstar trying to make sure you don’t get attacked by a fiend’, but I don’t particularly consider that a little thing.
I mean, she’d write a song for them too, but that’s such a given if you were to date her that I don’t think it even counts. She wouldn’t even count it as a ‘little thing she does to show she cares’.

What’s the best way to calm down your muse when they’re angry?
Soft Sunday meme
Let her wear herself down. She’s not particularly capable of being angry for long, upset; yes. Bitter? Perhaps. But being angry has and always will take a lot out of her because it’s something she’s found exhausting for a long time. Obviously listening to why she’s angry, what could’ve gotten her so worked up and getting to a solution is always the best option with anyone but Lenne’s not angry often so it’s probably a shock to both systems.
But honestly? She’s easier to deal with when she’s upset about a problem as opposed to angry at one and she’ll end up getting upset after being angry. Even when she finds out she’s a dream she finds herself a little more melancholy than angry about it.

What food or drink can be given to them to show that their partner really cares?
Soft Sunday meme
Tea with honey and no sugar, her favourite thing to come home to, it’s something she finds kind of comforting. She was probably given the drink a lot when she was younger and as she’s developed a bit of fondness for it. She’s the sort of nerd who enjoys drinking a warm cup of tea under a blanket even if it’s already a hundred and one degrees outside, it’s about the feeling of comfort.
In her FF VII verse, it’s a whiskey on the rocks because work is hard, hating ShinRa is harder. She tends to perform a lot because she’s not exactly what one would call very well-off, that stage production of LOVELESS was a big break and as such she feels a need to work harder, so winding down is important to her.

Is your muse good with kids? What ages?
Soft Sunday meme
Tumblr media
Short answer: yes. Long answer: Lenneth always wanted siblings and grew up a lonely (and only) child who had a lot of love to give and nowhere to give it, which has led to her having some less than desirable traits in her adulthood such as being overly compassionate and protective of people who can probably take care of themselves. She had a special place in her heart for her younger fans in Zanarkand and made time for them more than she did with any others.
She’s generally very good with kids about eight and over, but I’ve always figured that somewhere in her post FF X canon where she gets yeeted out of the Farplane, she adopts an orphan who’s a little younger than that and turns out to be a pretty good mother/older sister figure.

Favorite way to receive affection?
Soft Sunday meme
Tumblr media
An acknowledgement of her existence, simple enough isn’t it? Lenne likes to be treated like a person and not as a figment of a fayth’s dream or a distant, hazy memory made flesh (which is, sadly, what she essentially is) and as such it’s kind of important to her that she’s not put on a pedestal. tl;dr she’s the sort of person to cry happy tears when someone shouts at her because she’s  getting acknowledged as someone who makes mistakes and can make mistakes and ultimately as someone human.
Soft touches are nice too, a brush of fingertips, hand holding, something that’s casual enough to be executed casually. She’s not for high-key shows of affection of any sort, just the moments she gets to spend with those she cares for is enough.

Lenne was a bit of an idol in Dream Zanarkand, elaborate costumes, her choreography and visuals were just as important as her vocals and she had two very different personas. The flirty, fun one on stage and the mature for her age singer off stage, neither of them were really her and if one were to meet her on a day off, it’d be very clear that she’s...not how she portrays herself to be at all.  She had an archive of things she wanted to release but couldn’t because they didn’t fit with the ‘brand’ she had.
Lenne’s a little bitter about it all and it takes a while for her to dress and present herself in ways that she’d really like to because of it.

Lenne has a relatively small, stylized lotus tattoo on the back of her neck, quite small and pretty, she had to sneak out to get it because of her overbearing mother and she had to pay the tattoo artist a lot of money, but she’s quite proud of it. One of the reasons her hair is always down even when she’s in battle or during her concerts (the main reason is for the aesthetic) was to keep it hidden. Occasionally, she’ll tie her hair up and kind of relish the fact she doesn’t have to hide it anymore.
It was her own little act of rebellion and she’ll always be a bit attached to it.

Lenneth’s talents for magic were discovered completely and utterly accidentally when she and Shuyin were younger, playing a little too close to places that they probably weren’t allowed anywhere near, climbing up houses just to say that they could when her friend almost fell. She screamed so loudly, her voice laced with magic, that she shattered several windows in the vicinity, including Merlin’s.
She’s still embarrassed when people bring it up now.
