let me break it down: shifting is easy. I KNOW. I KNOW. "emma i've been trying for five years, NOTHING's happening." no, REALLY, you’ve already been doing it. every day. every time you zone out during a lecture, or start daydreaming about a life where you’re waltzing around versailles with marie antoinette or sipping espresso in twin peaks. that feeling !!!!!!! that’s it !!!!!! that’s the first brush of the sandworm under your feet.

the FIRST TRUTH!!!!! you don’t need a method. forget the ladder, the cracking raven, the star charts. sure, they’re cute, but they’re like training wheels. the real power is in knowing. knowing you’ve already got it. you just do it. you’re not asking reality to let you in; you’re telling it where you want to go. AND THEN YOU GO !!!!! SO GO !!!!!

the SECOND TRUTH!!!!! your mind is your arrakis. it is vast, it is hot, it is buzzing with potential. you can plant anything there, and it’ll grow!!!! timelines, dreams, full-on universes. all you need to do is stop overthinking it. shifting isn’t about fighting to make it happen. it’s about leaning back, relaxing, and letting it take you.

think of it like floating in the ocean: the more you try to force it, the harder it gets. but if you let go, trust the waves, you’ll find yourself drifting effortlessly toward where you want to be.

the THIRD TRUTH!!!! you’re already there. no, i’m not being cryptic or trying to sound like a fortune cookie. what you desire.....the reality, the life, the version of yourself you’re dreaming of.......it’s already yours. time and space are silly little concepts for the mortals. you’re a prophet. you’ve already conquered them. movin' on.

you don’t have to prove you’re worthy, you don’t need a cosmic permission slip. you’re already the shaper of the unshapeable. so !!!!!! stop overcomplicating it. how to shift? nr one: know you shift, nr two: you're in your reality. BAM. ᥫ᭡ info dump ⦂ obvi have to have the cutsiest pink bag to go alongside my very cutesy outfits 🙂‍↕️ went with a bag that functions either as an over the shoulder bag or an actual backpack !! the varying silhouettes allows for more freedom with my outfit choices hehe <3 i attached a korilakkuma plushie keychain to it , a matching pair i have with historia !! she got it for me , amidst a few other gifts , for a birthday of mine a few years back bc i'm rilakkuma's no.1 fan to ever exist bahahsjfhadj my phone and airpods , both covered with rilakkuma cases ໒꒰ྀི ^ ⸝⸝ ^ ꒱ྀིა , nine times out of ten would be in my pocket , but i'm including them here for that 1/10 chance they're not ૮ - 𖥦 -  ྀིა . i have a " makeup " miffy pouch , but it's more just a catch all for the stuff i didn't want resting in the bottom of my bag LOLL things like candy , gum , my lip balm & lipgloss , liquid blush , my most worn perfume of the season ꒰ made this with spring in mind , so it's obvi gonna be a floral scent ꒱ , my favourite peach-scented handcream ever , a seashell compact mirror i got as a gift from armin , bandages , chiikawa pocket tissues omgie & hand sanitizer ! it's a school dr so ofc i'll have to have school supplies (ᵕ—ᴗ—) ꒰ mostly ꒱ pink stationery of couuuuurse !! most of which are kept safe in my korilakkuma pencil case like my mildliners , mechanical pencils , eraser , sticky tabs , pens , translucent sticky notes , regular sticky notes , cute cat themed sticky notes , etc. etc. it's a snug fit alongide my notebooks in the main compartment of my bag but thankfully it has a separate chamber with enough space to home my laptop even in it's rilakkuma sleeve ꒰ i have got to be the least obvious rilakkuma enjoyer oh my gosh . . . ꒱

for starters , it’s probably best to get your backstory ironed out first and foremost so the rest of your scripting experience goes more fluidly . are you just like me and have an awful case of needing to be a princess syndrome ? if so , zoom in on the fine details of that ! are you a descendant of a line of nobility from fontaine or mondstadt ? do you want to create an entirely separate and new region that functions on a monarchy and your born into the current ruling family ?

or do you want to go the complete opposite ? be something like the traveler , a free roaming adventurer that isn’t tied down to one nation , constantly going with the flow like a dandelion fluttering in the wind . if so , what’s your income source ? do you regularly visit the adventurers' guild to get info on bounties ? do you occasionally help local businesses by doing fun little tasks across the town for them in return for mora ?

once that's done and dusted , you could veer more into your personality and how you are n whatnot . do you tend to get along with lots people easily and leave behind a trail of friends every nation you step foot in ? or are you typically reserved , sticking to your close knit group of a few very trusted friends ? does anything about you , be it your appearance or prowess or clothing or status , tend to draw in attention from those around you ? or do you pass by like a shadow , blending into the background like a chameleon ꒰ which could come in very handy if you were a member of the fatui LOLLL ꒱

this is my favourite form of scripting bc it's a rly easy way to visualize and immerse yourself into what your dr would look like . lucky for us genshin shifters , there’s a loooooooot of game visuals found on the genshin fan wiki page , things ranging from fashion worn in each nation to what the foods look like . you can either add those pics to your script , or like i do , just script via adding pics to a dedicated pinterest board for your dr and call it a day LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL . things like what clothing is in your closet , the hairstyle you’re most often found in , jewellery pieces that catch your eye , so on and so forth . the possibilities are endless over on pinterest bahahajdfhsdhgj 

also !!! for more cosmetic / vanity purposes , hone in on the specifics of your closet in your script !!!! are you constantly draped in lavish fabrics ? do you just stick to an ol’ reliable outfit that miraculously never ever tears or stains despite the arduous weather or conditions it’s seen ?

as mentioned above , if you’re anything like aether/lumine you’ll probably come face to face with hilichurls more often than not , do you want it to go with canon where they effectively perish once slain or do you wanna go the batman route where you don’t kill them but knock them out ? Also do you have a vision ? Are you able to travel freely between nations via the teleport waypoints or are you a regular citizen that has to travel through horseback or sea T^T ?

also foooood !!!!! this is a very biased take hehe but i'd rec. scripting in that all the food tastes as good ꒰ if not better ꒱ as it looks ! you could also add in that youo’re always served with really great customer service and always leave with nothing but good things to say abt the dining establishment you were just in 

suuuuuuuuuuuuper optional, but for more world building you can script in what weather is prone to what nation . is fontaine rainier than natlan ? does mondstadt experience more windy seasons than inazuma ? etc. etc. you could even go as far as to script in if / what natural disasters could occur , bc as far as the game goes i'm not sure it’s ever mentioned apart from like the whole wind storm thing with dvalin in mondstadt T^T i just find it fun to think of what sort of specific weather patterns would look like in teyvat that aren't in-game LOLLL

no srsly !!! to attest to this the many times i've shifted to parallel realities it's literally felt like nothing at all !! like i'm just going abt my day and belatedly realize something's changed and go waow crazy (𖦹_𖦹) & that's bc shifting isn't a physical process ,,, your body doesn't go anywhere ໒꒰ྀི ㅠ ㅅ ㅠ ꒱ྀི১ most symptoms you get during shifting is literally just your body checking if you're awake after being still for a prolonged period of time LOLL it's why some people have shifted with zeeeero symptoms and other people get tons of symptoms and still don't shift

When shifters talk about methods that involve emotions or the environment, it often sounds like you have to feel something intense for it to work.

I used to believe that too — that I had to live and breathe my symptoms for it to "work" that they had to be exaggerated and overwhelming for shifting to happen.

But here’s the truth: shifting doesn’t need to be felt to happen.

Shifting isn’t about chasing signs. It’s not about how strongly you imagine your bedsheets changing, or how much emotion fills your chest. In fact, clinging to those feelings often just grounds you "deeper" into this reality. It can make you over-focus, doubt, and overthink.

Shifting often feels like nothing at all.

There are no overwhelming emotions you must experience to prove to yourself it’s happening.

anything frilly , lacy and girly is an immediate addition to my closet ( bonus points for any dress or shirt with a peter pan collar ) . baby pinks , creams , and browns are commonly found colours in the clothes i own .

lover of all things whimsical and cute ! fun little charms are always added to my phone & whatever bag i'm wearing . an odd penchant i have is collecting the most bizarre hats / headbands that always seem to perfectly match whatever outfit i wear with them .
