prue had a set of headphones in as she walked. it wasn't like what she was used to listening to music to, but she happened to like the sound quality enough. this was just different and extremely hard to get used to. so when she walked around she had to pay attention to her surroundings. which is how she wound up bumping into someone. "i'm so sorry, i'm still trying to figure out these new headphones." she explained with a small shrug of her shoulders, not yet having looked up to see the person in front of her.

prue was having a business lunch with a potential client, but was regretting the decision. it was dragging on too long and they were saying some questionable things. eventually prue had to wrap it up. ushering him out of the door, she sat back down in her seat with a sigh. noticing a woman on the table over looking at her, prue smiled. “are we all going to end up like that when we’re old?” she joked wondering if the other had overheard some of their conversation, as it didn’t seem to be the first time she had looked over.

charlie shuffled into the main entrance of the theater , taking in the familiar sight of the lobby . ever since he'd lost neil , charlie took the time to go to local theater productions at least every couple months . at first it had been a way to torture himself , though they told themself it was just a way to stay close to neil . the habit continued for years , even here after he'd started life in washington . Day one

I'll just go ahead and say I don't have a particular favorite episode or season with Prue, it's all quite good. But there are moments that do stick with me, even upon rewatching. The first of those is the story of Prue dealing with her feelings and fears about how her mother died... remember, she's the oldest of the Halliwell's. Pheobe has like no memories of their mom and Piper has more vague memories than anything else. And Paige had no idea she even had older siblings.

Their mom's death affected her deeply, to the point that she couldn't say "I love you." to anyone for nearly two decades as they were the last words she said to her. And if I recall correctly she also had a pretty heavy fear of the water, given how their mom died.

And hands down my favorite episode with Prue is 'Primrose Empath', because the acting is PHENOMENAL. And just like the entire season where Prue and Cole interact is great, before and after its known he's a demon. They annoy the shit out of each other, but they both love Pheobe and thus will tolerate each other to save her life (which is a thing that happens in season three).

Day 6 of #Prueweek2024 - A Prue AU

My choice: A Cop!Prue AU

In this, Prue has become an inspector for the SFPD, and Darryl's colleague, instead of her working at Buckland's.

She has shown an affinity for this line of work throughout the original series (her figuring out Cole was Belthazor or at least considering him a suspect through extensive research and connecting dots, her combat abilities and her good sense of judgement) and her working with Darryl would connect the Morris family to the Halliwells for longer and would therefore give Darryl and his family more reason to appear on screen. Also, their friendship would be better developed and established from the beginning.

It would also be really interesting if Andy still joined them at the time he did in the original series. And Prue, not believing in the supernatural, would maybe look down on (or at least be amused by) Andy who is kinda open to these things before she got her own powers. It would be so funny to see her change her attitude towards these supernatural occurences on their cases and either pretend she still doesn't believe or to watch Andy be confused by Prue's sudden change of heart.

Besides, it does come in handy to have connections to law enforcement when you're fighting the forces of evil!

And just imagine her interactions with Phoebe. I'll bet you she threatens to arrest her lil sis on the daily...jokingly (most of the time)!!

prue had been wandering around, taking photos of the town. she'd finally gotten her shop set up just how she wanted, it was the first thing she'd done when she arrived in this place. thinking it was her second chance at life, she figured she would make the most out of it--knowing that it was all possible. but she felt lost not being home. she was taking some pictures when she looked down and spotted a face that looked familiar through the lense and then glanced up, this time without the camera in front of her own face, "phoebe?"

No matter how well Prue's spell worked, Phoebe won't stop complaining about the over-the-top rhyming. Read below the cut or on Ao3.

Author's Note: Not only do I love this spell, but I also love Phoebe's little "you have got to lay off the rhyming" line afterwards, which is the inspiration for this ficlet.

“Alright, so Piper and I will work on the potion, and Phoebe will write the spell.”

“Wait, me? Why do I have to write the spell?” In typical youngest sibling fashion, she placed her hands on her hips and frowned as she complained.

“Hey, you’re better than us at writing spells. Plus, the Book doesn’t have too much information, and you have the extra intel from your premonition.”

“Fine,” Phoebe groaned. And so she was sat at the kitchen table struggling to think of words to string together while Prue and Piper chatted away making the potion. She secretly knew that Prue was right—she was the best spell writer, but that didn’t mean she always enjoyed it. To think she hated poetry in high school and now was the one stuck rhyming words every other week. The bubbling pot on the stove was a much more exciting alternative.

“How’s that summoning spell coming along, Pheebs?” The elder sisters had fallen silent some time ago to help Phoebe work, and Prue’s voice snapped Phoebe out of her trance.

“Huh? Oh,” she glanced back down at the notepad in front of her, where a few lines were written down and a lot more were scribbled out. “I’m getting there. Just having a bit of trouble coming up with it today.”

Prue rounded the kitchen island, leaving Piper to bottle up the potions. “Do you want me to do it?”

“No, I can do it.” She snorted. “Besides, after your last spell? All that rhyming made me feel like I was on a children’s show.”

“The spell worked, didn’t it?” Prue folded her arms over her chest. It was a damn good spell! She combined three different spells to make that one and it worked perfectly! Phoebe wasn’t the only spell writing expert around here.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah…” Phoebe grumbled, twirling her pen between her fingers.

Prue rolled her eyes and left the kitchen. A few years ago, such an interaction between the pair would have been full of tension—Piper would have stayed off to the side simply to avoid the conflict. But Prue and Phoebe were playful in their bickering, poking fun at each other with a banter only shared between siblings. It was for that reason that Prue returned with a book, dropping it on the table in front of Phoebe.

Phoebe raised an eyebrow. “A rhyming dictionary?”

Prue tapped the book encouragingly. “Hey, don’t underestimate how valuable this thing is. It’s gotten me through a lot of spells.”

With an eyeroll, Phoebe pulled the book towards her, opening the front cover.

“I can tell.”

I've been re watching Charmed lately, especially/mostly s6, and (that one episode in s5 when wyatt is born but i digress) and I've never really interacted much with the fandom and last time I mostly fixated on the sisters and Chris (had a big crush on him), but now I'm honestly a little pissed at them, at least the sisters, on Darryl's behalf. They treated Darryl like shit and he deserved better than a half-assed apology that didn't even seem genuine. I may be wrong but I only remember two times in s6 when he got an apology, both times when they nearly killed him.

prue was happy to be back in woodshore. it meant that she could focus on finding her sisters and making sure they were okay. being on coruscant wasn’t all that bad for the witch, she found her way around perfectly find and even met some new people. the one thing she didn’t find was piper or phoebe. ❝ sorry, i’m just wondering if you’ve seen either of these women. their my sisters and i’m just trying to find them. ❞

Okay, so I ended up accidentally spiraling into a thing about everyone’s combat abilities, but then Prue’s got so long that I’m splitting them up. This mini-series of posts are gonna be a combination of canon and headcanons (look, I’m insisting that some of these people take a defense class, it makes sense), but Prue’s is entirely canon. I’ll eventually come back and link all of them together somehow.

Prue Halliwell

Initially, Prue is actually the sister seemingly most reliant on her powers when fighting. During the first two seasons, she primarily uses her powers to fight and only resorts to any type of hand-to-hand or self-defense when her powers are no longer an option, such as when she’s attacked by the Dream Sorcerer or dealing with Nicholas in season one. Furthermore, her focus tends to be getting away from the fight rather than full on fighting.

It’s really only after she gets her astral projection, a power that leaves her without her telekinesis, that she begins to deal with more nonmagical fighting. When she first realizes that her astral projection leaves her without her powers, she attacks Drazi with a block of wood in Heartbreak City.

Pretty much immediately after that episode, she begins to integrate some nonmagical aspects into her fighting style. What’s really interesting to me is that she mostly seems to be integrating the hand to hand in scenes where she’s reasonably sure that she can handle her opponent without magic. For example, she kicks one of the guys in Animal Pragmatism and does limited hand-to-hand combat with the Film Geek under a spell in Chick Flick, but has also already or does use telekinesis to win the fight.

The other times that she uses hand-to-hand when fighting is when she doesn’t have her powers and has no other options. Notably, she isn’t focused on winning the fight in those situations but getting away from her attacker. This includes her and Piper knocking the shelf over onto Cryto in How to Make a Quilt Out of Americans and her kicking one of the horror movie villains in the face and running in Chick Flick.

Season three is when Prue really incorporates hand-to-hand in her fighting style and also becomes such a skilled fighter. She uses telekinesis and nonmagical fighting in The Honeymoon’s Over, taking on multiple opponents at a time and winning. She uses her temporary empathy in Primrose Empath to augment her powers and fighting ability, kicking Vinceres’ ass in a super satisfying fight scene. There’s also the Wrestling with Demons match with Phoebe.

Prue continues incorporating hand-to-hand into her fighting style in season three, including kicking Belthazar in Power Outage and her interactions with Krell in Sleuthing with the Enemy. She demonstrates increased agility in Blinded by the Whitelighter. She’s flexible and does backflips or other acrobatic moves when fighting, as seen in both Primrose Empath and Wrestling with Demons.

She also demonstrates a passing knowledge of guns, being able to use them incredibly quickly in the Good, the Bad, and the Cursed when she and Cole go to the past. Along with guns, Prue has used knives several times and also used a crossbow.

By the end of season three, her fighting style incorporates both her powers and hand-to-hand combat and she appears equally comfortable with both. While she didn’t demonstrate a lot of fighting ability before roughly halfway through season two, I feel like it’s probable that Prue took some kind of self-defense or fighting classes previously, in part because of her personality. She’s one of the best fighters of the entire cast and of the Charmed Ones. Realistically, she seemed to surpass Phoebe, but due to Phoebe not dying in season three and Phoebe’s entire journey, I’m going to say that Prue is actually the second best fighter.
