there were many mushrooms on display in terrariums and potted containers with protective casings. the eel did collect oddities his in that way. julius was interested, perhaps not in collecting but it was useful knowing what was  p o i s o n o u s  to forge for and what wasn’t. jade of course has no issues explaining each one that julius showed interest in.

icy hues befall one fungi in particular, a purple cap with spots. it was beautiful, and grew in a single pot off to the side. perhaps he could incorporate one into his skincare routine if it proved to do anything beneficial for the skin.    ❝ curious. what is this one used for ? ❞

its always the first session that person were the most stand-offish. despite their own hands signing off on the admission slips they do so often do their best to protect whatever image they take issues with. perhaps it was the standing stigma that therapy was  C U R E  for an illness of the mind; oh how wrong those stereotypes could be. julius didn’t get his doctorate to listen to whims of sad people wanting a shoulder to cry on only to be rewarded with kind words; no. he got his degree to help guide a person through the process of their own mind-- a dissection he could watch while he instructed one where to  c u t  and sew shut.

other who suffered a tragedy were much more interesting-- they had true merit for their actions and feelings. without parading their woes on their shoulders. only time would tell what sort bran was.      ❝ comfort is a top priority here; i allow my patients to address me by my first name if they are so inclined. you may think of this time to do with what you like, speak only words you’d like to say in confidence.  ❞

one of julius’ least favorite things was playing  e r r a n d  boy for his housewarden. he especially liked visiting the ignihyde dorm about as much as he liked gouging out his own eyes. personally he didn’t understand why these papers couldn’t have just been digitally signed via email; but he was no housewarden so it wasn’t exactly his place to ask. 

   ❝ housewarden vil needs these addressed-- ❞ julius can barely get the words out before promptly covering his nose. what was that abrasive  S M E L L  ??       ❝ when was the last time you saw sunlight ? much less had a shower. ❞ he would have much preferred a talking tablet than this.

during the winter months it seemed flower shoppes were not the target of mass shopping mania. most people were out shopping for gifts for the upcoming holiday season-- leaving flower shoppes rather  e m p t y . 

he never liked the displays in the summer; too many brightly coloured flora that didn’t suit his favor. though this shoppe showed great promise--  la floraye. the bell above his head chimed, indicating entry as he browsed past the poinsettias. ugly cliche flowers those. he spots a florist tending to foliage he cannot name,      ❝ excuse me, have you by chance have any snowdrops?  ❞ an unpopular request, however julius liked the simplicity of them.   ❝ i’m willing to special order them if need be. ❞

there was something different about practicing his music with neige at royal sword academy rather than at his own dorm and board. perhaps it was the atmosphere; or rather the  P O S I T I V E  reinforcement he’d received on the idol’s behalf. it wasn’t so much he didn’t enjoy vil nagging him to start over again and again until it was perfect but this instance was different. dare he say even enjoyable ??

foreign as it was, he half expected a quip about his mediocre playing when his fingers slipped over the wrong key. but none came. he may just find joy in playing the ivory keys again if this keeps up.  he pausing his playing after hitting the wrong note and offers a brief smile,    ❝ if you don’t critique my mistakes, i’ll never get any better you know. ❞
