第72話『森の子ら』では、リヴァイが「獣の巨人」の力を宿すジーク・イェーガー（CV：子安武人）を尋問した。ジークに「お前、モテねぇだろ...勝手に人の気持ちをわかった気になるなよ」と挑発されたリヴァイは、「わかるさ...モテたことくらい......ある」と返答した。 ジークから目線を外す様子や、セリフの微妙な間などから、「リヴァイが虚勢を張った」と解釈する視聴者もいる。これまで劇中ではリヴァイの小柄な体形をイジるネタなどもあったため、その文脈に乗った笑えるシーンとして捉えているのだ。 一方で、「モテたことくらい......ある」を「実は切ないセリフ」として解釈する視聴者もいるようだ。かつてリヴァイ班の紅一点だったペトラ・ラル（CV：相川奈都姫）は、リヴァイのことを深く敬愛していた。そういった戦いの中で命を落とした人々を思い出したからこそ、リヴァイは遠い目をして、ジークの言葉に即答できなかったというのだ。

In episode 72, “The Children of the Forest.” Levi cross-examined Zeke Jaeger (CV: Takehito Koyasu), who holds the power of the “Beast Titan.” Levi was provoked by Zeke, saying, "You're not popular with women are you? ...don't assume you understand other people's feelings.” Some viewers interpret it as “Levi has castrated” because of the appearance of looking away from Zeke and the subtleties of the lines. Up until now, there have been some stories in the play about Levi's petite body shape, so I think of it as a funny scene in that context. On the other hand, it seems that some viewers interpret “I was... popular once..” as actually a sad line. Petra Ral (CV: Natsuki Aikawa) who was once the only red point of the Levi team deeply admired Levi. Levi couldn't immediately answer Zeke's words with a distant eye because he remembered those who lost their lives in such a battle.
