This illustration was inspired by a Chinese new year blessing saying “步步高升” (wish you have a great success in grades or have promotion in the new year). The pronunciation of the Chinese New Year rice cake “Nian Gao” usually associated with promotion and higher, better..etc so this is one of the must eat dish in Chinese New Year. I LOVE Nian Gao and this is one of my must eat dessert and snack in Chinese new year.
