Went back to office for overtime work and mum asked to buy back dessert from Nine Fresh (九鲜). They are having a Mango Passion Ai-Yu Jelly Special promotion from 16th October to 30th 2023, so I bought a cup each of the two mango flavoured jellies.

While both the desserts shared the same mango passion ai-yu base, the toppings are different for either one, saved for the taro balls. I went for the Mango Passion Ai-Yu A (草莓薏仁爆珠芒果百香爱玉) which comes with barley popping jelly, strawberry pearl jelly, black sugar dice jelly and taro balls. Each individual barley grain is encased in a jelly shell which pops when you bite into it, giving a surprising element when you least expected it.

Mum took the Mango Passion Ai-Yu B (葡萄凤梨珍珠芒果百香爱玉) with these toppings of grape pearl jelly, pineapple kantan, black pearls and taro balls. Both desserts offered a tangy, sweet and refreshing comfort to beat the humidity and brighten up the day with its vibrant medley of colours and myriad of flavours.
