#Refreshing

I think I'll be adding hibiscus tea to my grocery list (this sounds so refreshing)

Iced Karkady (Hibiscus Iced Tea)

Equipment:

Heating Element (Kettle, stove and pan, teapot etc)

Strainer (mesh sieve, cheese cloth, etc) OR Tea Infuser

Measuring Cups

Recommended Glassware/Ceramic to serve

Ingredients:

Water

Ice

Dried Hibiscus Flower

Sweetener (Usually Sugar or Honey)

optional garnishes: mint, lemon/lemon juice, lime, cinnamon, rose water, ginger, sparkling water

Directions:

Bring 4 cups water to a boil, take off the heat source

Add 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flower (can use an infuser to avoid the straining step)

Let steep 10-15 minutes until a deep red color. The longer you steep the more tart and concentrated the drink.

Strain the flowers / remove infuser

Add 1/4 cup sweetener while hot. Stir until dissolved. Can add more to taste

Refrigerate, then pour over ice

optional: Add garnish to your taste

Etc:

Be sure to rinse off Karkady spills and objects used to brew the tea as it stains.

Avoid plastic and wood as it will become red!

things that make me feel clean and refresh⋆.ೃ࿔*:･🫧

♡ ofc nothing makes me feel super refreshed like a shower. i've talked about this in my other posts but showering is like a reset button and you will always feel better after taking one

♡ using baby powder, especially in the hotter months

ok i am in LOVE with the way baby powder smells and i've been obsessed with using it this summer. it rly helps during the hotter months when u sweat and i highly recommend…💬🎀

♡ a tall glass of water with LOTS of ice (bonus points if u add a lemon wedge)

♡ scents with notes of coconut, baby powder, vanilla, and white floral

♡ a cold sheet mask

i say a cold sheet mask because when the sheet mask is room temperature, its still refreshing but if u leave it in the fridge for a couple of minutes before u put it on it makes a WORLD of a difference i swear…💬🎀

♡ getting off of my phone and doing literally ANYTHING else

We were pretty worn out by this point. The path ran through this little farm where there was a refrigerator outside for hikers that had drinks and snacks. You just take what you like and leave money in a box. It’s all on the honor system. We saw a number of these throughout our stay.

For the month of October 2024, Nine Fresh (九鲜) came up with the Get In Lime! promotion featuring two new desserts and tea. For the cold beverages, you can choose from Lime Red Tea or Lime Earl Grey Tea, each priced at S$3.20. Giving the drinks a miss, I ordered both the ai-yu desserts.

Give mum this Lime Ai-Yu A (蜂蜜蒟蒻柠檬爱玉冻) with Ai-yu jelly, honey popping jelly, konjac jelly, lime juice and taro balls. I did try some and it was much sweeter than my dessert below due to the addition of honey popping jelly and/or honey. Both desserts seem a little watery, maybe due to the adding of lime juice.

My Lime Ai-Yu B (芦荟蒟蒻柠檬爱玉冻) comes with Ai-yu jelly, aloe vera pearl jelly, konjac jelly, lime juice and taro balls has just the quite amount of sweetness over the citrusy tang. You can add extra lime juice (+S$0.80) if you think it is not sour enough for you. I find it a refreshing treat for an after-meal indulgence.
