I was sitting alone in a cafe in a street. The tent obscured the hot sunlight, and in the hot humid air, the sweet scent of roses spread.

The sound of rain gradually became further away. In Gavin’s arms, my anxiety and embarrassment melted away.

The raindrops on his body was cold. His arms were hot. His body temperature that passed over my thin cloth reassured me.

MC: Sunbae, how did you find me?

Gavin: I kept looking along the way. I’m glad nothing happened to you.

In his voice, there was a fear that had not yet gone. His arms that embraced me gave me strength.

Gavin: I never broke my promise with you.

MC: I know.

I nodded in his arms and sniffed, calming my sore (itchy?) nose.

Gavin laughed lightly and sat facing me. The space was narrow and made of shrubs and vines, so I had no choice but to fold my legs. (Not sure sure about this)

All I heard was the heavy rain against the background of sounds heard from a distance. The sound of tapping of leaves was also heard.

The rain soaked scenery was so delicate and fantastic but I couldn’t feel it for some reason. I unconsciously approached Gavin and felt this body temperature.

MC: It’s romantic to hear the sound of rain like this, if only we weren’t in this situation.

I tilted my head to look at Gavin.

A single drop of rain rolled off his lashes distracting the softness in his eyes.

MC: Sunbae, don’t we look like the cats we met before?

Gavin: Is that so? It is a bit similiar.

As if something came into mind, Gavin’s mouth went up gently.

Gavin: However, it’s not bad to hear the rain together.

He came close and pulled up the slipped coat from my head and held it tight.

This moment, we were so close, I couldn’t escape fromn his gaze. My heart thumped like crazy. It seemed like the rain from the sky was falling into my heart.

MC: Sunbae...

Gavin: No one found my real heart until I met you. Because no one else can go there.

Gavin: Only one person can go inside.

Finally his lips touched my lips. His cold and wet bite and breath penetrated my sensed without any resistance.

His eyes filled with emotions. He tasted a bit, but didn’t go deeper.

His lips fell as soon as they touched, and only his hot temperature remained on my lips.

Gavin: I just knocked on the door.

Gavin raised his mouth and smiled softly.

A raindrop that fell on his body caused a splash of water unexpectedly.

My sight turned bluish, like the water fog.

As if someone touched the softest part of my heart, there was a rush of emotions that I cannot control.

I put my arms around Gavin’s neck and pulled him closer. Then I closed my eyes and put my lips on his lips.

Gavin froze, as if short of breath.

I feel the taste of rain water on my lips and tongue, and I would hear our breathing, but I wanted to continue this moment.

Maybe... before I knock on the door, I might have already jumped in the heavy rain and stayed with him.

Searching for my slipped hand, Gavin held my fingers tightly.

The raindrops on the leaves that I see between my blurry eyes glistened.

Rain continued falling like it won’t end.

We waited for the moment of dawn in the rain.

I will be using Baek Gi’s English name, Gavin for this translation as his Korean name sounds a bit weird for English speakers.

MC sometimes addresses Gavin as sunbae, or senior in English. I will be using sunbae instead as I don’t find it common to use senior in English.

As soon as summer started, it rained everyday in Loveland City.

I only found out that it was raining outside after finishing the next quarter plan.

MC: Ah, I forgot to bring an umbrella again.

I sighed and posted on social media:

“If I bring an umbrella, it won’t rain. If I don’t bring an umbrella, it rains. Is this really the law of rain?”

I posted, but I didn’t give up and went looking for an umbrella in the office. Eventually, in the corner, I found a transparent ubrella bought from the convenience store.

MC: I’m quite lucky today!

I left the company with the umbrella. Raindrops falling from the sky knocked on the umbrella and made a loud melody.

The melody suddenly heard a slight cry.

As I followed the sound, there was a paper box under the fence next to the road, the black cat and the white cat sitting close to each other kept looking at me while crying ‘meow’.

The rain outside became more and more intense. Gavin and I sat on the sofa and looked at the guestbook under the warm light.

MC: Should we leave something in the guestbook when we leave too?

Gavin: Okay. Write whatever you want.

MC: But what should I write... We were stuck in the room because of the rain?

Gavin: ...the mist was beautiful here?

MC: Yes. It was like a fairy tale. It’s a shame that I can’t see anything.

We were feeling frustrated, we exchanged words one by one and finally looked at each other and laughed.

After eating a late lunch and seeing Victor’s retreating back. I felt bad that I cannot go to the ‘Rose Festival’. But it is not so bad to spend time with the two of us like this.

At this time, the bottle of red wine on the low shelf caught my attention. I got curious and looked at the wine bottle. Unexpectedly, this wine had no label.

Victor: Do you still want to drink after passing out due to the heat?

Victor’s sudden voice from above was heard and surprised me.

MC: I’m just curious… Did you just buy this? Why is there no label?

Victor: This is a special wine I found in the market. The taste is special.

MC: Special? Was it brewed by a famous craftsman?

I got up and approached Victor. He raised the glass to a height that I couldn’t reach even if I tip-toed. I had not choice but to give up in anger.

MC: Fine.

Victor: Later you…

MC: Just kidding!

While he lowered his guard, I jumped and snatched the glass.

Because of my unsteady footing, I lost my balance and ended up falling on Victor. He reflectively stepped back forgetting the bed behind him.

After that confusing second, Victor falls on the bed scattering the rose petals along with him.

I was lying on top of him, mind completely blank, my face still giving the expression of excitement and victory from snatching the glass earlier.

The glass that was the cause of this was on the bed, contents spilled on the covers, even soaking my hands.

I stared blankly, taking in the scene before me as the scent of the rose lingers around us.

Victor who was under me, sighed deeply. Lose hair strands on his eyes, softening his sharp appearance.

Victor: I didn’t mean to not give it.

While speaking, I can feel the vibration of his chest as we are pressed together closely.

Regaining my senses, my face turned red trying to get up.

But Victor grabbed my wrist and I fell back to his chest.

His narrowed eyes were looking for changes in my expression. While his expression is the same as usual, making me embarrassed.

Unlike his calm expression, he is unable to hide the heat from his body transferring to me through the thin fabric of this clothes causing my body to heat up as well.

My breathing and heartbeat seemed to stop for a moment, and the tingling feeling on my palm quickly penetrated my whole body like an electric current.

His lowered his head to my ear, his lips almost touching it. I can barely concentrate on his words.

The curtains were lifted and the view of a small town dyed in dusk appeared in front of us.

Victor: The sky is the most beautiful part of this town.

He said, I looked up with wide, surprised eyes.

MC: …It’s beautiful!

A rosy sunset spread from the horizon. The clouds draped over a long distance and settled in the atmosphere. In the sky, the clouds resembled waves.

The sky of this small town looks like a rose waiting to bloom.

Victor: The color of sunset you see in this town is very special.

Victor: This is the most beautiful rose I have ever found.

His soft, tender voice rang in my ear. I immediately realized what Victor meant.

Originally, I wanted him to have a unique travel experience. I didn’t think that we would be the one giving me this in the end.

Victor reached out, hugging me. The look in his eyes more tender than the sunset.

Victor: Close your eyes.

I followed him and closed my eyes. His hot breath getting close and closer, a soft touch soon reached my lips.

Victor put his hand behind my head, deepening the kiss.

His movements were smooth and powerful. The intense stimulation spreads from the tip of this tongue all the way to my depths.

His fingers that gently rubbing my back gives me thrills.

The hot air slowly cooled down as the sun went down, but the temperature continues to rise along with the entanglement of our lips and tongues.

It didn’t rain last night but when I woke up at dawn, there was a lot of fog on the mountain.

I deliberately asked Gavin to accompany me to find the suitable shooting place for the next season’s program, but I came to this beautiful mountain eventhough it was not famous.

After going to the owner of the log cabin at the top of the mountain, Gavin and I went to the top of the cliff as recommended by the owner. But there was only a hazy fog.

MC: I can’t see anything.

Disappointed, I put the camera in my hand. I was thinking of taking some pictures for the original material, but I have to give up because of the situation.

Gavin: If you wait a little, the fog may disappear.

I also tried to show energy to the words of comfort Gavin gave.

MC: When the sun rises, you will be able to see the scenery in the mountain!

MC: By the way, the air in the mountain is really clear and clean...

Then I found a thick guestbook on the tea table in the corner of the sofa. When I turned over the cover of the kraft paper, the first article that was written several years ago remained.

Gavin didn’t say anything. His face was thoughtful for awhile. He opened his mouth after awhile.

Gavin: What do you think happened to the two?

MC: I also don’t know. It’s in Salinger’s novel. Love wants to touch, but it’s like a hand that lifts up.

MC: Perhaps they more you like, the more hesitant you become?

I said in a sigh, taking a photo of this page using my camera.

Gavin: Maybe the story ended with the two people working together.

I didn’t expect Gavin to say that, I nodded.

MC: I hope they had a happy ending! That would be another story.

I placed the guestbook down and took the cup and sipped.

A cool day when it rains. The warm tea quickly spread to my heart, soothing my organs.

Inside the hotel, the noon’s blazing sun was blocked out of the window.

I am seated on the bed. Head dizzy because of the heat. The ceiling fan slowly spins, pushing the heat out of the air.

The suite room Victor booked has been decorated for the Rose Festival. The petals sprayed on the bed adds a clear fragrance in the air.

Tok, tok, tok… my thoughts stop when someone knocked on the door.

After awhile, I head the sound of a key turning, unlocking the door. Victor came in, carrying shopping bags.

Victor: How are you now?

MC: I feel a lot better after taking the medicine.

In order to not worry him, I smiled with all my might.

MC: However, I don’t think we can go to the Rose Festival.

Victor: Are you worried about that now?

Victor placed the shopping bags on the table, approached me and placed his hand on my forehead. His cold touch left a tingling feeling.

Victor: Your fever is almost gone, however you still need to rest.

After checking on my condition, he pulled his hand back and took off his suit and placed it on the side of the bed. And he began to take out the things in the shopping bag.

MC: What did you buy?

Victor: Ingredients. You have to eat something light.

His back on me, I can see his shirt is already wet with sweat. I bit my lower lip, suddenly, my heart felt lighter.

MC: I’m actually not that hungry. I can eat anything at the hotel.

Victor: You want to eat those kind of things?

Victor turned his head for a moment and looked at me, dismissing my idea.

MC: Then Victor, what about taking a break first?

Victor: It’s fine. You rest.

Victor took the ingredients and went to the small kitchen in the suite. Soon the sound of water was heard. While I was listening to the sound of cooking, my eyes closed shortly afterwards.

My consciousness is disturbed so I couldn’t sleep peacefully. Something scary came in my dreams and I frowned in my sleep.

MC: Ugh.. don’t go!

At the moment of peril, I grabbed on to something to reassure me.

Victor: Dummy.

I heard a very familiar sigh and I fell asleep deeply.

How long has it been? My consciousness gradually returned but I felt my body is enveloped.

I tried to open my eyes. Suddenly, bare skin without clothes greeted me.

MC: !!

I opened my eyes wide. Sleepiness completely gone.

Victor was also lying on the bed with me. Holding me in his arms. I had my head in between Victor’s neck. When I slightly look up, I could see his chin, and in my ears, I could feel his steady breathing like a feather.

My brain stopped thinking. I have no idea what happened until I saw my hand grabbing Victor’s necktie.

While dreaming, I pulled Victor’s necktie which opened his shirt revealing his bare chest.

I stopped my eyes from gazing downwards and hurriedly released his tie.

Victor frowned at the movement. His eyelashes shook slightly under the light.

I closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep.

As his body moved with a rustle, the sound of his breathing changed.

Then his hand moved through my hair, slender finger slowly moved along my head, each small action faithfully stimulated my nerves.

I couldn’t even move. My body temperature rose due to the tension. Soon my back started to sweat.

Victor’s arm, which held me, moved and all his actions were clearly engraved in my head from the close distance.

Victor: Why are you so sweaty?

In a voice that sank low, there was clear suspicion.

Worried whether I should open my eyes or not. Victor’s palm touched my back.

I suddenly trembled at the sudden contact, but I suppressed my body’s reaction with all my might.

Luckily, Victor quickly pulled his hand off. He slowly placed me on the bed.

I was dejected by the sudden disappearance of the body warmth, and soon there was a sound of water in the bathroom.

MC: Phew..

I released a sigh of relief and slowly opened my eyes.

Victor wasn’t in the room but his touch on my body still lingers. My heartbeat still unable to calm down.

The sound of the water stops. When I noticed Victor walking out, I closed my eyes again.

The space next to me on the bed sinks. Victor sits on the bed, moving a few strands of hair from my face.

Victor: MC? Are you awake?

MC: Uhm…

I pretended to be asleep and swipe his hands away but he continued to put his hand on my face.

Victor: Why is your temperature high again?

He draws his hand, placing a wet towel on my head. He gently wipes the sweat off.

Although he is genuinely helping me in lowering my temperature, I am not able to completely control my senses.

The soft towel slowly went down on my neck, Victor’s fingers unconsciously touched my lower neck causing me to tremble slightly.

Sweat trickled off my face, sliding down to my neck and hair.

Victor pauses. I shut my eyes, but my eyelids kept twitching.

Like my body decided to go against me, my stomach released some low growls.

MC: …

Still air flows in the room. I remain unmoving in my position.

Victor: You’re awake?

My eyes twitch, but I didn’t dare to open my eyes.

Victor laughed in a low voice, then leaned over and approached me slowly. A looming shadow came, and I stopped breathing.

Victor: How much longer are you going to pretend to be asleep?

MC: I’m.. awake…

Seeing as I can no longer pretend, I opened my eyes and watched as Victor straightens up.

Victor: If you’re awake, get up and eat something.

Over the screen Anna ended the call when the situation came about.

MC: I can see that the meeting is over.

I smiled and turned my head to Victor, forcibly changing the topic.

Victor: It ended earlier than expected.

Victor didn’t ask further. As I watch him raise his hand and untie his necktie, I realized that I started sweating.

MC: You didn’t have to come in a hurry. Isn’t it too hot to be wearing that kind of clothing?

Victor: It’s fine.

He was carrying a small briefcase and placed it next to me. I picked up the sunglasses on the table and place it on top of my head.

Victor: It’s still a few hours before the event starts. So it’s time for you to use the ‘travel strategy’ you wrote in the plane.

I opened my eyes with a puzzled heart and looked up at him lifting the top of my hat.

MC: How did you know? I thought I hid it well.

Victor: How did I know? Of course, I saw it myself.

MC: You weren’t sleeping!

After hearing that, Victor glanced at me, there was a teasing tone in his voice…

Victor: Someone kept talking to herself and woke me up.

MC: You really know everything… then leave it to me. To the ‘Rose Festival’ we go!

I ignored the uncomfortable feeling in my body and clenched my fists.

Victor’s eyebrows were still giving the ‘I couldn’t help it’ feeling, however his mouth had a bright smile, as if the sun were in it.

Victor: Then I will look forward to it.

A road along the street to the flower garden outside. The houses on both sidea are painted in warm colors, they are soft and romantic blending under the sun.

I stepped forward on a small brick. The wind carries the fragrance of flowers from the distance and I could not help but open my arms and enjoy the fragrance.

Locals in colorful clothes pass by. Most of the young women had flower baskets in their hands for the rose petals event later.

MC: This Rose Festival has been around for hundreds of years.

When I saw the flower baskets on the streets, I thought of participating.

MC: On this day, a man invites a woman he likes and dances together. Looking for the most beautiful rose and he will present it to the woman. And the woman will present her gratitude with a lover’s kiss.

MC: Isn’t it romantic?

I endlessly told Victor the information I found on the internet.

He listened silently and raised his thin mouth to laugh.

I pressed the shutter, I heard Victor’s voice which wasn’t loud but clear.

On the screen through the lens, his slightly raised mouth was also clearly visible.

My heart suddenly felt fast. I raised my head and tried to tell Victor. Suddenly, a strong feeling of helplessness came.

The shining sun in front of me was exceptionally bright. I felt dizzy.

I almost dropped the camera in my hand. I collapsed into the arms of Victor, who tensed.

Beyond blurry gaze, Victor started at me with an urgent look. I opened my mouth and barely spoke out.
