. 이건 반칙이다..볶음우동 위에 살이 탱글탱글한 낙지와 알을 가득 품고잇는 게, 새우 두마리와 그옆에서 춤추는 가다랑어포. 매콤달콤한 맛에 씹을거리가 많아 한그릇 뚝딱하고나면 뭔가 해낸듯한 기분이다. . It's amazing spicy seafood noodle. Crab, small octopus, shrimps and mussels. ChungDam (Santa Clara)

To celebrate the re-activation of my food blog, I just had to write about my amazing experience at ChungDam in Santa Clara.
I’ve honestly never had amazing quality Korean BBQ outside of Los Angeles, but Chungdam serves up some incredible dishes that makes it stand out from other Korean establishments. Everything we had was amazing quality, but what really stood out to me was how much thought was put into each dish. Even super traditional dishes were elevated through attention to detail or subtle additions to enhance the flavors/textures. 
Anyway, here’s a look at what we tried throughout the night!
First up, appetizers! 
-note-  Before I delve into the tasty dishes we tried, I have to say that the hospitality here is amazing! We ordered a lot of food and there was no confusion at all. 
Of course we had to try the 해물 파전 (seafood and scallion pancake) The pancake was not what I had imagined. The outside had a super crispy shell (imagine little crispy noodles) and the inside was the perfect fluffy texture with noticeable pieces of seafood and scallion.

Next up we had the fish roe and uni rice bowl. I like to dub this one the “tri-fecta bowl.” The bowl consisted of multiple types of fish roe, fresh sea urchin, and perfectly broiled unagi. The flavors went so well together, a super balanced bite with the salinity from the roe, the creaminess of the uni and the buttery unagi. Definitely get this bowl if you come here!

Our final starter was the marinated tiger prawns. The texture was not like the typical tenderness of ebi you would get at a japanese restaurant. These prawns had more of a bite and a creamy taste. The manager told us that it was a very traditional Korean way or preparing these prawns; and it was super tasty!

ALSO. I can not get over how amazing the side dishes were! Most places only give one or two typical side dishes, but Chungdam had at least 10 side dishes that varied from vegetables to seafood!
Next, entrees!
The dish I loved the most was the 단호박갈비찜 (braised short ribs with kabocha). I think I died and went to heaven because everything from the seasoning to the tenderness of the short ribs was PERFECT- literally melt in your mouth. Don’t make the mistake of not getting this.

Next, we ordered a spicy monkfish stew (a special of the night). The broth was flavorful and packed just the right amount of spice.

Finally, we finished up the entrees with 해물우동볶음 (spicy sautéed seafood and udon noodles). This dish had chewy udon noodles with a great variety of seafood. Honestly, everything is in the details and I loved that Chungdam actually cut the mussels in half and all the seafood was devoid of shells.

We can’t forget the star of the night, the KBBQ!
The two proteins we ordered were 허브로스삼겹살 (herbed pork belly) and 생갈비 (galbi, beef). Both the meats were incredibly fresh and high quality (the pork belly is organic too). Honestly, pictures speak a thousand words, so here ya go!

어제 또 친구가 부르더라구요 ㅠ_ㅠ..

꼽히는 속초탁반장대게포차라는곳에
가자고 해서 결국엔 다녀왔어요 ! 
저는 아는곳이 별로 없는데
친구는 요렇게 숨은 맛집을
어찌나 잘 아는지 완전 신기 ㅋㅋㅋ
입구에 도착했는데 분위기가 
제 마음에 쏙 들었어요 *.* 
3시에 오픈해서 그냥 부담없이
방문하기 좋아요 ! ㅋㅋㅋ 
실내에 동그란 테이블도 있고
따뜻해서 엄청 편함 bb
메뉴를 봤는데 다른곳에 비해
상당히 저렴한편이더라구요 
가격대비 푸짐한 홍게를 
맛보고 싶은 분들은 이태원 맛집 베스트10에
들려 보시길 추천합니당 🙂

기다리니 샐러드와 오코노미야끼가 
등장 +_+ ㅎ 저는 오코노미야끼를
진~짜 좋아해서 제가 거의 다
먹은거 같아요 소스도 맛있고
ㅠㅠ.. 담백하니 일품..b
마끼에는 간장을 넣어서 한입
먹어봤어요 홍합탕은 국물이
얼큰하고 시원한게 
취향저격이였달까..ㅎㅎ 
누구나 호불호없이 반할맛이에요
요건 단품으로 주문해 먹어도
될만큼 퀄리티가 끝내줬던
소라,문어, 새우 ! 한접시에
먹기 좋게 담아나오니 
기분도 좋고 맛도 좋고 ~~
본격적으로 홍게가 등장했습니다 ! 비쥬얼이
끝내주죠 ? 그릇이 넘치도록 담아주셨더라구요
통통한 게살이 고소해서 그 맛에 반해버렸어요 
게딱지 안에 들어있던 게장은
비린내가 하나도 안나더라구요 
먹기 편하게 손질이 다 되어 있고

추천할만합니다 최고 !!

세트를 주문하면 선택할 수 있는 메뉴가 두가지가 있어요 
술안주로는 국물이 딱이겠지만..

그리고 두번째로 선택해먹었던 해물우동볶음 !
좋은 향이 솔솔 풍기고 오징어, 새우
홍합 등 다양한 해산물이 푸짐하니
많더라구요 보기만해도 침 넘어가는 비쥬얼이에요
  마무리는 게딱지 볶음밥과
게라면으로 ~~~ 추가 주문해먹은건데
맛도 좋고 개운하니 +_+ㅎ 
최고였어요 사장님 인심이 푸짐하셔서
재료도 아낌없이 막 넣어주시니
