βœ¨πŸ’’ for stranger things? β€”@inserthaven
@inserthaven Thank you for the ask! :3
✨ -- I'll tell you about a friend of theirs
So, my s/i moves to Hawkins between season 1 and 2, and due to being pretty introverted and aloof, she struggled to make any friends (plus she was terrified of being recognized as a semi-well-known author, especially by lonely middle-aged moms). But she started working on weekends at the towns local cafe, and she tended to get along well with two other women who worked there! Those two even warned her not to go after Hopper since he's notorious for being a womanizer in Hawkins, but tbh that couldn't stop Ruby from getting what she wanted πŸ₯ΊπŸ’–πŸ’–
πŸ’’ -- I'll tell you about an enemy of theirs
Hmmmm so idk if this is cheating cuz this guy was already dead by the time my s/i enters the story, but Eleven tends to have a lot of nightmares about her times in Hawkins lab, and her worst nightmares are always about "Papa" (i forgot his name lmao), so when she has awful nightmares like that, my s/i always holds her close and promises that she'll NEVER let that monster get near El 😀 And other than that guy, my s/i is pretty wary of all the ppl that previously worked at Hawkins Lab, she's just like "don't fuckin touch my daughter >:("
πŸ’œ ask game here! πŸ’œ

Wait wait oh god angst time but. I just thought about how my Stranger Things s/i would react when finding out Hopper is gone at the end of season 3. How absolutely devastated she'd be believing that he's dead like everyone else thinks. Especially because, well.... during season 3, the two would have been constantly talking about marriage. Hopper was even carrying the proposal ring with him when he vanished in the underground Russian lab. But now... he's gone. They were so close to starting the rest of their lives together, after all the pain and craziness they've both been through separately, but now that's been torn away from her. She would probably still send El away with Joyce for her own good, because she'd believe that El needs to just get away from Hawkins to move on and feel better.
But Ruby wouldn't move on. She can't move on. She'd probably stop going outside and seeing anyone, only leaving what was once her shared home with Hopper to go to the store for the bare minimum of food that she needs. Every single day without her darling Jim would be absolute agony, and in reality, the only thing keeping her going would be the guilt of knowing that he would have wanted her to stay in this world, even if it feels so much more cold and empty now.

Do you have a stranger things s/i???? You and Hopper seem like the cutest and most awesome parents ever!!!! Your Father’s Day post made me clutch my heart,,,, Hopper is a good dad and I’d love to hear more about y’all!!!
AWWW THANKS SO MUCH ANON!! πŸ₯ΊπŸ’–πŸ₯ΊπŸ’– And yes I absolutely have a Stranger Things s/i!! (You can check the tag for more info about her, wink wink) But for some more info on our relationship as a family, my s/i started dating Hopper at the end of season 2 (where she actually got caught up in the events of the S2 finale) so she knows about the weird stuff that's happened in Hawkins and El's powers. Now that she's dating Hopper, she's basically a mother figure to El but she acts a bit more like a cool aunt who lets El get away with a LOT more than the authoritarian Hopper does, but that's because Ruby understands that El is a young, growing girl who needs space to figure herself out, especially after everything she's been through at Hawkins Lab. Ruby helps to reel Hopper back when he's being too harsh or stubborn, but Hopper helps Ruby to be assertive when a harsher treatment is necessary. They balance each other out quite well πŸ₯ΊπŸ’–πŸ₯ΊπŸ’–πŸ₯ΊπŸ’–
