Hello there, Moon! :) well, here’s my answers to the questions I submitted yesterday! I tried to put a cut to save space, but i'm not sure it'll work. :/ nevertheless I hope you have a lovely day :) !

- 18: Are you scared of spiders? yes. I am terrified of them and of bugs in general, especially the ones that fly.. which is a pity because some are really beautiful! Something about them suddenly buzzing & crawling around me just triggers my fight or flight, so i totally get the tears. I always end up screaming 😁

- 27: Have you ever broken someone’s heart? as for your answer - you have my solidarity .. I wonder where some people just get the audacity, lol

for what concerns me .. I think it's a yes, unfortunately. There’s this dear friend of mine who confessed to me years ago and I (figuratively) ran away - I wasn't clear with them and I think it hurt them a lot. We’re still friends, and we’re still surprisingly close - but I realised only years later I probably just like them back and need to come to terms with my feelings .. It’s really a tragic-comic situation, but aside from that I swear my sentimental life is so dull it’s funny - i’m really no heartbreaker!

Me, Toji. His couch. But - just when we were about to get to the real fun I was startled awake by a loud noise! I was so mad I couldn’t get back to sleep .. needless to say, day ruined

as for my answer: clear, after a big storm. the rain swipes most of the air pollution away & the sky just gets so limpid! I find great peace in looking at the sky, personally - and this weather allows me, at night, to see some of the brightest constellations / the moon pretty well. astronomy & astronomical observation are two of my biggest interests/hobbies, so i appreciate that a lot! now, dreaming

I normally dream very vividly and very painfully, like night terrors are an everyday occurrence for me (I'm used to them, its mostly okay lol) so I really do prefer the "wtf" dreams over my normal ones, it's better to wake up very perplexed than upset, right?

anyway, your dream sounds like... a dream? like I want some of whatever you had 👀 (also send the link pls, I'm toji-starved) I think the closest I ever had to a fandom/anime inspired dream was a dream I had where I was trying to coach volleyball based on astrology (dream logic) and the big grey guy from Haikyu and his tired boyfriend were almost soliciting me for some *fun* (I have never read or watched Haikyu, I learner later that this was Bokuto and Akaashi)

Ahh, star-gazing!!! unfortunately I have always lived in places with a lot of light pollution so star gazing is difficult, but I am very into astronomy and astrology (more the stories behind the stars? like how Orion was placed there by Zeus, etc) i don't have a favourite constellation, mostly because I haven't thought about it? I'll think some more and tell you next time💜

Okay, so: here I am again for some song recommendations! Before I begin, I must say my suggestions are based on my own impressions, so it would totally make sense if they sound fitting to me only, heh.

For Gojo I’ll say:

-“Jealous” by Eyedress (there was just something about the upbeat instrumental clashing with those rather insecure lyrics ..)

- On the sad side: "Privilege” (slowed, preferably), "Heartless" (again, the contrast between the trap-ish vibe and the lyrics ..) or “the knowing” (slowed) by The Weeknd.

Toji:

- speaking of sad stuff: “After Hours” also by The Weeknd / “Alone Again”, same artist (the first one, especially the lyrics - not the "I broke your heart" part, but like the yearning ..).

- On the .. sexier side (because he OWNS literally ¾ of my hot songs): "What You Need" (rigorously slowed and by .. well, The Weeknd). Just .. *melts into a puddle*.

I chose The Weeknd because I think his songs - those roller-coasters of hurt and vulnerability, toxic behaviours, unhealthy coping mechanisms, pining and sex, darkness and omnipotence -could fit quite well, even if loosely (thinking of "Kiss Land" which is eerie, surreal - or "I was Never There" and its intense, sad vibes).

Now, for Choso it seems like I can't make a fitting choice .. But I liked your perspective and recommendations a lot, so thank you! :)

Regarding Gojo’s character - ehh . Is my opinion going to be controversial? Perhaps. But I like him. Like genuinely. This not to say he’s exempt from critique to me (I actually do criticize him a lot and love the slander too, lol)! But .. eh, today I’m just feeling a bit down about it because of the opinions I keep coming across in fandom spaces. I have met very few people who are willing to have polite and specific discussions about him .. Even if the discourse surrounding him is indeed very complex! But of course to each their own opinion (!!), I'm not bashing anyone in particular especially regarding this matter.

Ugh! This said, I have taken enough space for today - save yourself from my Gojo ramblings, XD! Speaking of the songs I mentioned in my last ask .. I've been thinking about your Roadhouse Blues AU lately, and Professional by The Weeknd reminds me so much of it, especially of Dancing Days (given that the song is about The Weeknd’s relationship with an entertainer, it feels appropriate even lyrically). A channel named “streliz” on Youtube did a great version of it, that’s the one i’m thinking about.

I would also really like to know which song(s) you associate with Toji in that AU .. I always think of his entrance in Dancing Days when I listen to the intro in “I Wanna Be Yours” by Arctic Monkeys - the guitar with that scene feels otherworldly (I just went to re-read it and wow, I need to take a deep breath. Everything about it is so good hxbdvkcyuwdc).

oo, okay so I'm such a whore for slowed + reverb versions of songs - there's a slowed + reverb version of Hoosiers' "Up to No Good" and it just hits different. The Weeknd is also a completely different ball game when slowed down - quite a few time I'll be listening to a playlist and I'm just like "who dis?" and it's the Weeknd and I have an existential crisis because that isn't what he's supposed to sound like lol

Also, I always associate Toji with old rock and roll (I think the choice of Led Zeppelin makes it obvious enough) so yeah, I definitely connect the Arctic Monkeys with Toji. The other song I always always associate with Toji, is "Bad Company" by Bad Company (lol, very creative title)

I’m in the middle of my usual fanfic brainrot - and as I was trying to figure out this steamy Toji fanfic I’ve been wanting to write for ages (with no success, unfortunately) I thought of how its dynamics/tropes could fit well in a mythology AU ..

Saying “Mythology” had me instantly thinking of you, and that’s why I came here - I wanted to ask you: have you ever thought of writing mythology AU fanfics? I’m curious about your view of them, if you want to share it! :)

I personally have always refrained from seriously giving it a try: I don’t want to portray myths & themes in a misleading way, but at the same time I would also like to keep some of the exceptionally crude themes out of my works .. I also don’t want to mess too much with characterisations, so yeah - in fear of making a disaster I simply never wrote a real story down. Nevertheless, I have to admit there are scenarios/parallels that sound very interesting ..

What about you? What do you think of the matter?

okay okay, time to crack my knuckles!

I love the idea of mythology AUs. I really really do. I love mythology, and I love seeing what other people do with myths and how they integrate mythology into writing

I think that the joy in an AU is how dynamic and variable the changes can be - An AU can be simple: what if so-so stayed alive? (Toji, my beloved), what if these characters actually got together? (ChosoYuki, my beloved) or you can change the entire universe - you can make a JJK fic in a curse-free world, or Tokyo Revengers as a sports AU (someone please do this, I just don't know enough about sports) and sometimes, you can change a character - like, what if Mikey went to therapy for his "dark impulses"?

Mythology AUs can do all of that. Say I want to write a Greek Mythology AU about JJK - if I cast Gojo as Zeus, I don't necessarily have to make Gojo into a horrible person that does horrible things (Zeus is very much not my favourite god) but I can use some of the aspects of Zeus to re-characterise Gojo. Maybe Gojo won't be as awful to women as Zeus is, but he'll have lightning powers and have many lovers.

I actually really want to write Mythology AUs or Fairy Tale AUs but I'm scared that people won't enjoy it because they know the ending? like they know the prince will save the day or the distressed nymph will become a tree (Apollo, you bastard) and that's why I'm wary of those sort of AUs.

One solution is to just borrow elements from mythology, maybe a power or two, or maybe an aesthetic feel (I try this, sometimes). You can also always turn the myth on its head. Have the princess save the hero, or the monster be the better person. Revisionism is a very strong movement at the moment (especially in my field, my bookshelf is full of retellings of classic novels)

It's a lot of fun, and no interpretation of a character is wrong. If I think Toji enjoys honey whiskey on the rocks and is the human embodiment of regret, then that's correct for my version of Toji, and I'm allowed to write him like that. The rest is confetti. Write the character you want, in the story you want, with the ending you want. forget the rest. if you enjoyed writing your piece, people will enjoy reading your piece.

Why do I feel like I was giving a sermon? I hope it doesn't feel like I was sermonising >_<

Anyway, I had a good day today and i might finish it off by writing or planning for my future fics I might actually add a mythology AU to my list of ideas :]

18: Are you scared of spiders?

YES, if it has hair, I hate it. the little ones are fine, as long as they stay out of my life (i found a hairy brown fellow in my handbag the other day, and there were real tears)

27: Have you ever broken someone’s heart?

Apparently? a few boys have not understood "no" and that made me the villain? plus apparently I devastated my ex, and I'm like, "me too, buddy" lol.

34: Who/what was your last dream about?

This is so timely because I had such a bizarre dream last night. It was basically Attack on Titan? but keep in mind that I am only caught up to Season 2A, and the rest is osmosis :] so it was this weird Dali-esque dream with titans and hills with teeth and eyes. No, I am not on drugs, Yes I dream things like this quite often.

58: Favourite weather?

the moment right before a heavy thunderstorm - youknow that moment where the sky holds its breath, everything's purple-grey and dark and the air is scorching but the wind is cold? that moment. or just the middle of a thunderstorm <3
