I never really cared about Otho but the man who played is a whole ass Shane Madej caricature and I kind of love him now

We unfortunately do not get red Beetlejuice, but for a split second the lights give him a similar effect and while it's not the same, I will take it. It's better than nothing I suppose

To fill in the awkward silence after the "we both have dead moms" joke, BJ fucking bounces on Juno's severed leg like a pogo stick????? It literally sucked the air out of my body and I had to force myself to breath so I didn't start wheezing and disrupting the whole auditorium

We got confetti'd after the curtain call and I grabbed 3 handfuls :) That's not really a note on the show, I just felt like sharing

Ok on to my feelings about the cast:

Justin:

Listen, no one can ever top Alex, but I'll be damned if Justin isn't a close second.

Just constantly screaming and doing his little dancy dance, even if it's during normal dialogue that does not call for screaming or dancy dancing.

Not much in the feral behavior department, but he sticks his tongue out so. much. A lot of sarcastic gasping too like sir close your mouth before bugs start crawling inside

He takes his sweet time finishing dialogue. There were several times where there would be a good 30 seconds of dead air, and every time the laughter died down it would start up and fill the silence again. I don't know what spell he cast to make the audience do that but it was a good one.

I'll be honest I wasn't so sure about him when the casting was announced but god damn it he just has so much charisma I want to get on all fours and bark for him

Im not taking that back btw you're gonna have to live with me saying that

Isabella:

My favorite Lydia hands down.

Her Lydia has so much attitude she's almost a bit of a bully. There's so much sarcasm and angst and anger in her delivery. She plays the moody teenage girl character well.

Not really an acting not but Isabella has such big, expressive eyes. Granted, I had pretty close seats, but you can still see her eye rolls and quirked eyebrows from the stage it's amazing.

Overall she's a fantastic Lydia and again, my absolute favorite. No shade to Sophie, but I feel like her Lydia was... a bit whiny and immature. Isabella is truly grieving her mother and you can see how much of a toll all these changes are having on her. I absolutely love the edge and the bite she brings to Lydia.

Britney and Will:

These two.

These two are out of fucking control for real.

Take the goof factor from the original Maitlands and crank that shit up to 11.

Gonna have to agree with Beetlejuice though, Will's Adam is quite sexy...

"Adam... You're boring. But! You're sexy. You should own that." *cue Will doing a full body roll*

I dont know if it's his height or voice or line delivery but he just seems a lot less... idk pathetic? than the original Adam. It's a nice change of pace. I always wished they did more to develop his character.

Britney brings a lot of spunk to Barbara. Like Barbara has always been the slightly more adventurous one in the relationship but Britney really makes her shine.

OG Barbara is a bit more subdued but Britney's body language is so big? I guess is the right word? So many big gestures and so much movement. Im always a big fan of when actors use their whole bodies to deliver their lines instead of just standing pin straight and talking.

Kate:

I've noticed a lot of people don't really like her Delia and while she isn't my number one favorite either, I still think she does a good job

OG Delia, I feel, is out of touch with the times and trying to be "hip" while still being old school. Kate's Delia is very much aware of "kids these days" and is an obnoxious try hard. I kind of like her take on the character in that sense.

Delia has absolutely no concept of personal space. She stands wayyyy to close to Lydia and whenever Lydia gets fed up, she gets in Delia's face to give her a taste of her own medicine. I LOVE the dynamic between them.

Also Kate's Delia is lowkey kind of bullied by Lydia? Like Lydia is actually pretty mean to her. Again, I love how Kate and Isabella interact with each other. There's a lot more turmoil and strain between these two that I feel was lacking in the original production (at least from what I've seen in the bootlegs I've watched).

Jesse:

Not as imposing or strict as OG Charles, but I like it. I don't prefer it, but I like it.

I feel like Jesse's Charles wears his heart on his sleeve? You can really hear how tired and lost and confused he is when he's struggling to communicate with Lydia.

I never cried while watching bootlegs but damn it, their performance of Home almost made me cry...

Hello um im SO sorry that this will be long but please eodhk its been a whole night and i cant stop thinking about your work moonlight . Every time i hear someone say "baby" my mind zoooms back to your work. Gosh..to have baby as your nickname [head in my hands] but yohr writing was soooo incredible like each and every scene was packed with flavour and fun and not once did the writing stray or feel like a filler ahh i would love to eat moonlight <3. Also i have never seen the movie because my parents never let me as a kid so i dove into the au really excited and NOW I WANT TO WATCH THE MOVIE SOK BADD. But i'd lije to share certain thoughts as scenes i love. First of all...baby's whole personality (she's MY baby shes my sweet meow i love her) and every description of sunghoon made me feel soo many things but that scene where baby's in the staff area and he motions her closer (phew i get you baby i get it) and the part where she presses closer so she can lean far back and trust him to not let go is SO important because its got gorge visuals, they already trust each other (somewhat) and foreshadowingkedjk. Jake my sweet baby he was soo silly and goofy throughout. Im really glad chaewon was safe and it was so natural of her to be hostile to baby at first ah but HEESUNG?? GOD I DISLIKED HIM SO MUCH HE WAS A FREAK!! Especially the way his personality switched (but the scene where sunghoon jumps over the banister to punch him..crowd cheering) but he was such a hypcrite that heesung boy..he aint right. And also i really hate myself for being somewhat attracted to jay even though he was written to be a real sly mean person but what if red is my fav colour? 🤨 that stupid joke of his the what makes me diff from all the boys at yale..why was i laughing and twirling my hair MOVE BABY its my turn..um anyway i hated max so much nit kidding lije how can you allow bunglow bunnies to do whatever they want with YOUR staff and then get mad at your staff for finding peace and love? Like arent they already involving themselves with the guests?? Poor sunghoon my heart broke when those cougar women pulled their old school moves on him like come on youre married and thats soo creepy sighhh. I was soo worried that doc might nevr find iut what heesung did but im glad seeun was safe as well even thoigh..she didnt tell doc oh this boy aint right i dont want him..andthat scene where they practise the lift..im getting light headed wheres MY SUMMER DANCING FUN AT A FANCY RICH RESORT WHERE I MEET A HANDSOME MAN WHO TEACHES ME HOW TI DANCE (head in my hands 2x). When baby said fight back harder..and she hid sunghoon from doc i was sobbing in my head like baby girk wear your man like a badge be proud of him. Thank you sm for focusing on his dimples really 😭😭💘. And that scene where ms jung drops all the wallets was so well hidden in the plot somethinf so small byt meaningful i really took it as a "rich people are weird" motif until the wallet part bur argh..max getting mad at sunghoon for ""stealing"" instead of listening to baby (a woman in that era God forbid women know things that men dont) but then STILL firing him and sunghoon accepting defeat but the scene where BABY accepts the loss and sunghoon almost breaks (head in my hands sobbing 3x). I saw sparks three days in a row 💖💖💖😭😍💃💗💕❤💘 First night: the magical signing event! I completely blanked when it was finally my turn to go up and SPEAK to them. I managed a babbled thank you, for everything, for doing the signing even though they must've been soo jet lagged. They thanked me (!), said they were a bit tired, really appreciated my sentiments (!!!). Later on I was standing! right!! next to them!!! as they talked to some people they knew, and then as Amanda gave them her art (!!!!) They are... a bit shorter than I thought? Russell's like my height, Ron's 3, maybe 4 inches taller? They were so so so so nice and kind omg my heart melted. We did a group fan photo and then when Ron and Russell left the building they gave us a wave ❤ Second night: the 1st show!!! Omg the sparkstasticness began pretty early. We saw Sparks' insta post of Russell standing on a street corner... and noticed it was really close to where we were!! So naturally we recreated the photo. We got to the venue like 2 1/2 hours before doors to ensure a good spot. Had a great time chatting with sparks fans!! And then: the show!!! It was incredible. Dick around​ was intense, sherlock Holmes was beautiful, Scandinavian design was great! Russell gave me a little wave at the end!!! After we went to a cafe across the street, it was filled with sparks fans!! We all chatted, I found someone to give my extra ticket for night 2 to!!! Day 3: the sold out show!!! Ah yes, the show that famously sold out in like a week and a half! Sooo glad I was able to get tickets during the fan club presale (being an official member does have its perks)!! We got to the venue about 3 hours before doors this time, same people ahead of us. Had some good chats while we waited. Met up with Amanda!!! We ended up in the same spot as the night before, far stage left, front row! One of the security guards remembered me and we share a laugh. The merch table was selling t shirts with the 70s logo and I bought one!!!! I love that logo sooo much omg. The show itself: The first night was hard to beat, but somehow Sparks bested themselves!!! The band was tighter, and the crowd was wilder!!! We had such a good time!! We were dancing and singing and crying, having the time! of! our! lives! Every single song was a highlight. And they played Hospitality on Parade!!!!! Russell smiled at me several times throughout the night, and then at the end I held his hand 😭😍😭 it was sort of an awkward wrong handed shake, but we were both beaming, it was a night I will never forget. Amanda and I hugged many times and then she gave me a copy of her artwork!! The same poster he gave Ron and russell at the signing 💖💖💖 after the show we chatted briefly with the drummer, Steve something, and tried to say hi to Mr goodnite, the opener, but he... didn't say anything? Whatever. Sparks are my love 💖💖💘💕💗💃👏😄👌💘💖💖
