Bon (he/him) was originally designed as a female love interest for Frankie (basically his Minnie), having been named Bonnie in that era. Later, he was redesigned into a casual male rival character (basically Frankie's Mortimer) with whom he had increasing gay tension.

He was made to be a tad taller than Frankie, rather than his exact height (like he was in the Love Interest era), being a reoccurring character that would get into shenanigans to try and mess with Frankie or his shows (with it being a Tom and Jerry situation, you never knew who would come out on top.) His outfit entirely depends on the episode and is subject to change, so his second concept has minuscule accessories. But Frankie tugs on his tie or twirls his finger around it regularly. He was scrapped later on and never got his own consciousness in the parkour palace... But he shares some striking similarities with a certain lucky contestant, so maybe, he can have consciousness...

I'm working on the little chocolate rabbit dude for the cartoon Frankie universe!! I've decided to go in the direction of "originally a female love interest" (Frankie's Minnie, basically), but revamped into a male rival character instead that gets into occasional shenanigans and conflicts with him (and oooohh there's gay tension ohhhh) but I've gotten the "first concept" done, aka the "Female Love Interest" era. I'll post the official designs soon once I'm done!

A really crazy question came to me, I imagine this... If Bon the cartoon became conscious out of nowhere, how would the whole group take it?

Hiii these are awesome questions! I'm so glad ya'll want to know more about their lore! So- Bon never gets a consciousness, canonly. But, close enough, Lucky's consciousness is inputted into Frank's (cartoon Frankie) world! For a purpose of course- The higher-ups wanted to test if they could temporarily put a contestant's consciousness into his world, to add some spice to the gameshow! Put them through a 2D video game, in a way! Getting a certain amount of health and if they fuck up, and are killed in Frank's world, they die physically as well.

So, obviously, Lucky was the guinea pig for stuff like this. So he was hooked up, all set and ready, and when his body went into a stage of stasis, on the screen, there popped a chocolate rabbit who looked OH SO similar to a certain scrapped rival character. This was on purpose I'd say, since there were plenty of comments on Lucky's chocolate brown hair, hazel eyes, freckles- even had a bow that resembled rabbit ears.

(please note Lucky is a bit outdated here but point still stands)

How Does Franklin (Monster Frankie) React?:

Not much. If anything he's bummed he's going to get used less if this idea goes through. The most he does is sit by Lucky's physical body and poke it sometimes, though he's very protective of it and will sometimes pet Lucky's limp arm the same way Lucky sometimes pets his ears to keep him relaxed. He'll also try to feed him cereal by pushing it against the screen with his big ass hand- it's sweet

How Does Francis / Frankie (The Other) React?:

Well, he's the one responsible for setting Lucky up in the first place- but when he pops up as Bon- he's cooing about it like "Ohhho now I see what Frank's been on about! Just look at you!" While clasping his hands together and resting his cheek on them- just like "I could just- no I WOULD just eat you up if I could!" Obviously, he'd be in shock for some mere seconds before that, but he'd just find it sweet. I'd say he's the most enthusiastic about it- until he remembers- oh yeah- his Lucky contestant is stuck in there for a few days so all their banter will be from behind a screen. POV Frankie learns about long distance.

How does Frank React?:

Now Frank is the one who was most upset about Bon never getting consciousness- to the point he actively started calling Lucky nothing but Bon when he saw his face. The similarities between them were enough for him to start projecting onto him- trying to pick fights to match that dynamic the nonsentient version of him, and Bon had.

But Lucky isn't exactly the same as Bon. Bon is snarky, sarcastic, high up his own ass, and very particular. He would always feed in deliciously to whatever plot point was thrown at him. Lucky was not the same. Lucky would sometimes jokingly feed into Frank's attempts at headbutting (including actually headbutting with him to start). But overall, when he mellows out, he's a genuine rather soft-spoken guy. Way more conflict-avoidant than Bon ever was. Making the best of his situation even with how- weird it is and how much of a toll the show takes on his mental health. People ARE still dying and he never gets used to that.

Even voice-wise they're different, which makes sense:

Bon is the Grinch because he's more prone to conflict but he can have genuine heartfelt moments, for the majority of the plot he's usually the cynical rival

Lucky is Tramp because he's a soft-spoken, sweet man who's trying to make the best of his situation and is a romantic at heart. Sure he can be rougher around the edges and have playful conflicts with Frank or Franklin, but he is entirely well-meaning and wants connection.

So this just makes that projection so much worse. But it also showcases even further just how different Lucky is from Bon because he doesn't feed into Frank's attempts at a scuffle almost at all. He's not his rival, he's not the guy Frank misses so much. He's not the guy Frank has been "in love with" for so many years. He's Lucky, and it's really the first step in Frank realizing, yeah. You got to look past that similarity and realize you won't make a connection until you accept he's not the person you envision him as! They got a lot of slow-burn stew cooking basically- it's messy and I love it.

Question about Bon. Is it the same Bon or just some kind of copy on which a redesign was made based on the first version? Does Frankie remember the old version of Bon and does he feel any regret that Bon himself has changed a lot due to the fault of the creators?

Wonderful question! I did sort of explain it earlier in a comment, so I'll delve a bit into it here! Bon never got to the point of having a consciousness. So he was only ever around in the official cartoon. When he was revamped, he was basically just remolded The female love interest era version of him didn't strike cords with people as much as the company had wished, so for a little they were wiped from the show; until they decided to go a different direction. Something more Tom and Jerry esque- or like the coyote and roadrunner. They wanted him to have a recurring (but not in every episode) rival! Something for all that delicious slapstick, for them to foil each other- take people's attention away- so to cut corners, they turned Bonnie into Bon. TECHNICALLY, he was made to be a different character but was so similar to Bonnie that people insinuated maybe he was Bonnie's twin brother- when no- Bonnie didn't exist at all anymore. So despite the rivalry, there were some bouts in the show where it seemed more like teasing flirting (thrown in subtlety) than actual head-butting- but there was plenty of that. But Bon was eventually scrapped as well due to complications and arising complaints about how he and Bonnie were the same character- The sentient cartoon Frankie never got his own sentient Bon, but he wished he had one. He's wayyy more unhinged and off the walls than the normal toon version of himself, but he did long for it. In the lore, there is a certain Lucky Contestant that reminds him a lot of Bon; both personality-wise and feature-wise, with chocolatey brown hair and even freckles. So while everyone else calls said contestant "Lucky" or "Bunny", he calls them "Bon". In fact, if their sentience was ever uploaded to join Cartoon Frankie behind the screen, I reckon they'd look just like him.

Monster Frankie- Franklin Other Frankie- Still just Frankie Cartoon Frankie- Frank It's not exactly the same idea but similar enough! I like the idea of the cartoon version getting the shortened name a lot because I know for sure he'd be the MOST pissed off about it since he's the OG and has the biggest case of anger issues. I have so many Other Frankie and contestant ideas btw, like one of the ideas I had was the contestant training in the facility for next season (they don't have anything better to do) and kinda eating shit and slamming their head

Frankie who was watching from the sidelines come over from the shadows (he was watching in secret) kinda just, picks them up like they weigh nothing and does stuff like flash a light in their eyes ask a few questions, he only does this he they REALLY eat shit like slam their head or something. He probably also pats their cheek before telling them to get it together

No absolutely, if there is gonna be any true companionship between the two it's gonna be a slow burn. I kinda keep that in the back of my mind and what not even though I'm gay as fuck Realistically you'd be exhausted to the BONE and the most he'd offer you is like a Frankie brand cereal bar. But that gay little neuron in my brain wants to say he gets at least a tad bit more supportive and throws more loops your way as he gets to know you But he's a capitalist greedbag so he probably would be super bad at showing support or care in a meaningful sense anyway. <Incorrect-Finding-Frankie

I'll give you some bits of trivia then for fun! To anyone who wants more deep lore on these two, go here!

• Frankie is to Bon's neck, so Bon is taller than him- but he's still significantly smaller than Henry Hotline.

• Frankie will either pull Bon down by his tie to get face to face with him or he'll extend his legs. He sometimes tugs Bon's ears but they're way too sensitive for their own good.

• Bon is actually a lop-eared rabbit, he just keeps them propped up as much as he can to appear even taller than Frankie.

• Bon HATES steak but it's Frankie's favorite food, he prefers desserts like chocolate mousse or simple foods like bread or mac and cheese.

• Bon has sensory issues and is very sensitive to sound

• Frankie has gripped Bon by the ears and pulled him in for a big smooch in one episode, but it was played off as a joke.

• Some queer artists on the team have sketched out unofficial art of Bon and Frankie kissing (some of them still liked the pairing even after Bon was turned into a guy)

• Frankie has called Bon names that could be considered cutey and couply in more ""threatening"" ways; like truffle or cocopuff-

• Bon doesn't smoke but Frankie does, he has puffed smoke in his face a good amount of times

• Lucky calls Frankie Frank, and Frankie calls Lucky Bon. The reasons why are listed in the other post.

• Bon sounds like Benedict Cumberbatch's version of the Grinch

• Normal cartoon Frankie is more playful when compared to the sentient cartoon Frankie, so when Lucky is downloaded into Frank's world for a while he's considerably more serious.

• Frankie, despite not liking the whole "made to someone's thing" with Bonnie, projects onto Lucky to fill the void of having no Bon of his own

• He learns to like him past that, but it's a slow burn.

• Bon's favorite animals are frogs and Lucky's favorite animals are seals- that contrast between them leads to Frankie trying to get Lucky to enjoy frogs.

• Bon is STUPIDLY easy to fluster and there are moments in the show where you can catch glimpses of a blush in certain frames- usually when he's bickering with Frankie or having sweet moments.

• Bon is a big Frank Sinatra fan, and people on the team found "Something Stupid" to fit him very well. This is true because now that he's a male, he's "not meant to be Frankie's lover". Tragic.
