here, have my lil updates. :)

• chris has a new dob. the old one? too close to his fc’s (yesterday). new dob: march 5th. bc pisces.

• i’ve acquired a new pen name: Bronte. pronounced BRON-teh. i’m indecisive, what can i say? now. if you’re an old writing partner of mine, from years ago (looking at you @coastercrushed, @morb1dg1rl, @hollowvictory, @notimminent, @00sgoth, @butscrewmefirst), feel free to use my old pen name, which is my actual nickname. if it helps, think Rockstar & chris’ (mark wahlberg/lead) stage name lol as it was literally given to me bc of this movie.

anyway…

• pronouns. i’m removing “she/her”. while i identify as gender-fluid & very much gnc, i don’t think i’d like to have “she/her” used for me on here. it feels icky. they / them are fine to use. he / him are cool, too.

one of my favorite things about seance (chris' band) is that they were a "pandemic band". their first two releases (or three, if you count their reject songs ep) were not toured around. the most they did with that was play extremely small shows at friends' houses & basements. the occasional backyard get together, etc. mostly, they liked to "rehearse" & just hang out. friends of the guys would stop by & it would be pretty chill. they didn't tour until their third release (crepusculo), which was a bit heavier than the prior releases & it's what got them attention. streamings. it's all about streamings. matt knew this. he arranged their first tour via personal contacts & friends in the local music scene. they aren't "big", so to speak. they're more like this weird little obscure project with catchy tunes & dark lyrics (bc chris). while they are consider a metal band, this is simply due to the musicality & dark lyricism... plus what chris does onstage. the "blood rituals"... "offerings"... "sacrifices", as their cult following has grown to call these antics. to his misfortune, chris has become the face of the band. while this usually is the case with lead singers (patrick stump be damned), for chris it happened due to the image he took on (an attempt to be unrecognizable). the long bleached hair, a blatant contrast to his natural light brown, along with the face paint/makeup - it may seem inspired by black metal, but chris is a nerd. a comic book was his reference. not in likeness but the basic concept, eric draven of the crow.

kinda wanna give chris both a 90s verse (currently exclusively with @grote5que via discord) & an 80s verse, for all of you ST & LF writing partners. but i’d have to figure out & adapt his “canon” into these eras bc true crime & his multiple diagnoses (y’know, medical shit, ‘twas different then, unfortunately). i do plan on him working at a record store, under his 90s verse. maybe have him work at a video store under his 80s verse (yes, a la robin & steve). we shall see.

pondering about chris’ birthplace.

while massachusetts is his home state (as laid out by this post), with then his mother uprooting her broken lil family down to jersey. later chris moving to washington for college, to finally end up in oregon as his present residence… he feels like he was a michigan child. so, i’m thinking his parents went to college in michigan, lived there for years until chris was born (he remembers nothing of michigan but there are pictures of his infancy & they were all from that short era). once he started walking his parents decided to move to massachusetts, which had been their plan all along - they just needed to wait for chris to be “a little older” while they found a lil place to move into. that’s when they found the small town of riverton (iykyk), where they knew no one, but felt like home. about three years went by when mar was born. another three years after that & life changed for good. it would take his mother about two years to sell the house & manage moving them to jersey. yes, that feels right. okay, it’s canon now. yep. been decided.

⟩ any tattoos? nope. plenty of ideas, tho. problem is, with this kind of thing i'm indecisive as hell - and, get easily bored of looking at something/the same thing for a long time (my hair is proof of this, i recently chopped it all off). but anyway, been thinking of finally getting around some of those ideas i've had for over a decade.

shoutout to the realest,

iris laplante (chris' mom), for being nothing short of a badass lady who has gone through some shit & is still standing. from having it all (her all), to having to put herself back in survival mode once everything collapsed from underneath her. iris, a driven & smart argentinian force to be reckoned with. she'd moved to the u.s. to study & eventually made a life for herself there. sixteen years later, she found herself with a family. a nice starter home in a picturesque small town in massachusetts both she & her now husband (that one canadian boy she met in college, her "cassie") loved. it seemed like a nice place to set roots on. now a wife & a mother of two, she was happy & could see a beautiful future ahead. that is until her husband passed suddenly, in the most unexpected, heartbreaking way. declared a suicide, with their boy in the house when it happened. her life changed completely when she returned home from dropping off their youngest for kindergarten. their eldest had been sick & stayed home with a fever, her husband caring for him until she got back. when she did, she found him. above the stairs. she'll never forget the sight of his feet hanging just above her. she can't remember if she saw anything else. if she had, it's gone. now numb she went in search of her child, having to run up the steps & avoiding the most horrible sight. her cassie was gone. she found the boy hiding in his bedroom closet, curled up under hanging clothing in the dark. hands over ears, tears running down his rosy, warm cheeks. she picked him up & ran with him in her arms, doing what she could to cover his eyes as she ran out of the house. that day changed everything. she's had to deal with the loss of the love of her life, feeling half of herself now gone forever, not being able to properly allow herself to mourn her cassie. conflicted with having to be rock solid for her kids. not being able to show weakness when the cops & the media came knocking. they'd found something amongst her husband's belongings. something horrible. something her cassie couldn't have possibly possess. she's had to raise her two kids on her own since then, with everything else that came at her. tough on the outside, ready to tear apart anyone who'd dare come near her children. yet remaining that gentle, nurturing (but direct) woman, teaching her kids that it's okay to miss & love their father, despite the circumstances. he'd loved them &, to her, that's what mattered. (she'll never speak of the conflict inside - those poor people.) all in all, iris went through baptism by fire & came out fiercer & more loving than before. chris & his sister couldn't ask for a more perfect woman to be their mother. showing her immense love, respect & gratitude every chance they get (he'll call her today, don't worry).

chris taking late night strolls without telling anyone is my favorite reckless thing. bc he knows he can get lost (not geographically), and go missing for hours (“missing” even from himself) and his friends freak the fuck out. nearly getting a search together and calling the cops bc he’s either not responding to his phone or, he leaves his phone behind. it happens at least twice a month. tho his strolls are at least twice a week. he roams aimlessly, meeting stray cats and somehow always finding cemeteries. for someone who’s afraid of the dark, he’s very comfortable in the nighttime. there was one time when he left and there was a snowstorm, they only found his phone in the van with no sign of him. hours later, after everyone panicked and were ready to call the cops and go search for him, one of his friends goes back to the van and finds him napping in the trunk. completely oblivious of his little adventure and the fact that he could’ve died out there in the snow. he didn’t have shoes on nor a jacket. he was lucky he didn’t lose his toes or something. that time, his friends were upset, but knew he didn’t do it on purpose. he often jokes they should chip him, or at least have him wear a collar with a tracker device. they don’t find it funny.
