not culture is but we have a question ,, is there an atypical dysphoria term for not necessarily being dysphoric about ur species but specifically not having extra limbs ( ex cat ears , extra eyes , extra arms ) ?

I’d suggest to look into Dissomei terms as well as Aldernic terms!

I mean, like colored contacts are a thing? If that’s what you mean?

As long as your not hurting yourself it’s fine? It’d your own bodily autonomy, I don’t believe it’d be harmful.

Hello! this is the same anon from before that asked about Atypical Dysphoria! I forgot to add a question. Could you please describe what Xenic and Species dysphoria are? In detail, if possible. I apologize if I'm disturbing, again, and thank you if you respond!

Xenic dysphoria is a form of gender dysphoria that xenic or xenogendered people may experience. For example, if someone relates their gender to bunnies and has xenic dysphoria, they may try to present in a way that gives bunny vibes, like with bunny-themed clothes and makeup.

Species dysphoria is dysphoria over your species. Many alterhumans experience this. For example, someone with species dysphoria over not being a cat may wear cat ears and exhibit cat-like behavior or meow.

I have a question: would it still be considered Atypical Dysphoria if I already am or have what I'm dysphoric about?

Basically, I'm bodily a POC (though I'd rather not say my race), but I was raised outside of my culture. Due to this, I sometimes feel like I'm not [X] race (even though I am) and sometimes feel dysphoric about my race, even though the dysphoria is about a race I already am?

Would that fall under atypical dysphoria or just a Weird Brain Thing? Because it's, yes, dysphoria, but also at the same time, it's dysphoria that's like "Oh I feel I should be [Race]" even though I literally am. I'm literally dysphoric about a race that I just straight up am physically; I just wasn't raised in the culture. And I feel like my brain is weird as hell for that!

Oh yeah, atypical dysphoria covers anything that falls out of norms.

Ones dysphorias are base by base, how one May view and understand themselves are ever changing. That’s why certain terms like Dissotween(link) exist, being some struggle with a dysphoria that may be already reflected in their life. -📯
