for reference, i’m using british peerage (hierarchy). there are five ranks: baron, viscount, earl (count), marquess, and duke - the highest being duke, and the lowest, baron.

okay, so

among nobility, the jeon family are well respect but considered to be a bit,,,eccentric

they adhere to all the social expectations expected amongst nobles, but their attitude towards non-nobility is what sets them apart

though most noble families are polite when interacting with non-nobility, they generally try to keep their distance; avoid their company, if possible

not the jeong’s 

it wasn’t unusual to see duchess jeong knitting in her tea room with maids, merchant’s wives, or whoever else wanted to come

to see gunho running around with his friends, a pack of street urchins, low, and middle class children

to see yunho in the market helping one of the many older couples haul their cart into place

his family had managed to find the delicate balance of being “normal” enough not to suffer social ostracization, yet “odd” enough for people to dismiss their “peculiar actions” as “typical jeong behaviour”

now, onto the loml yunho

perfect gentleman pt. 2

extremely charming and a great conversationalist

no matter how awkward or shy the other party may be, yunho has this way to draw them out of their shell

(just ask mingi)

excels physical and hands-on activities (i.e. hunting, horseback riding, swordsmanship, etc,,,)

average in terms of book smarts

so while wasn’t about to lead the next technological revolution, he wasn’t “stupid” either

rather, i’d argue that yunho’s brilliant in non-traditional ways

his quick wit and ability to think on his feet is part of his charm

but his greatest strengths are his observational skills and emotional intelligence

able to discern people’s emotional state easily and quickly

he’s someone who’s kind, bright, and genuinely cares about other people’s problems (sometimes a little too much)

a natural leader - people tend to flock towards him

between him and mingi (who despite not acting like it, is extremely book smart), they’ve got all bases covered

(+ yunho’s willingness in using unconventional methods to gather information)

that’s actually how he met you

or rather, “found” seems more appropriate

see, he has an excellent rapport with the street children

being six foot one and offering shoulder rides does wonders

and because he wants to stay updated on what problems the people around him are dealing with, he gets the children to “report” to him if they find or hear anything unusual

(the children are more than eager to play spy, especially when there’s candy involved)

one day while taking a stroll, one of his kids ran up to him totally out of breath

he wheezed something about a “mysterious lady” before grabbing yunho’s hand and dragging leading him to an alley quite far away

to say he was surprised was an understatement

most of the time, his kids brought amusing but mostly useless information to him

(even if he is more than content listening about the cute squirrel they fed earlier that day)

usually they didn’t lead him to an unconscious woman lying in the middle of an empty alley

(yes, that’s you)

hurrying to your side, he drops down and checks to see if you’re alive

other than being unconscious and getting some dirt in your hair and on your clothes, you seemed to be okay

gingerly scooping you into his arms, he tells the little boy to fetch the doctor and bring him to the jeong manor

fast forward a couple hours and you’re roused from your unconscious state by the sharp smell of ammonia mixed with lavender

blearily, you rub your eyes and blink once, twice, before your vision finally clears

then panic

you don’t recognize where you are or the two faces that hover by your bedside

sensing your anxiety, yunho smiles warmly speaks in a soothing tone

“hey, hey, it’s okay, you’re in a safe place. my name’s yunho and this is dr. adley. i found you unconscious in an alley.”

and though you’re very confused and still mildly unnerved, you can tell this yunho guy is genuine

“,,,okay.”

so you settle into the (extremely comfortable) four poster bed and let the doctor examine you

except now it’s time for panic pt.2, but ten times worse because why the hell can’t you remember anything?!

you can’t even remember your own g*d damned name !!

to make things worse, there doesn’t seem to be a reason why you can’t remember anything

no bumps or injuries anywhere on your body

and chances of a robbery gone wrong, a kidnapping, or a failed assassination attempt were very unlikely since you were dressed in commoner’s clothes

disquieted by your alarm and the doctor’s confusion, yunho slips out of the room and returns after several minutes

the doctor, offering apologies to both you and yunho, says he has no idea what’s wrong or what could’ve happened to you

all he can suggest is to rest and hope that your memories eventually come back to you

your burry your face into your hands, a whirlwind of frustration, confusion, and fear brewing in you

apparently nobody, including yourself: 

knows who you are, 

where you came from, 

why you were unconscious, 

and why you lost your memories

to top it off, you have no money

just when you were about to idk,,,scream and/or punch something-

you feel two large hands engulfing yours, lowering them from your face

taking a seat on the edge of bed, yunho offers a faint smile as he idly traces lines from your wrists to your fingertips

a surprisingly soothing gesture

“,,,i know you’re overwhelmed right now, but please don’t feel as if you have to do this on your own. i talked to my mum and dad; you can stay here until either someone finds you or your memories return. in the meantime, we’ll help you out as much as we can, yeah?”

and though you’re in no position to argue, your first instinct is to decline because though you’re amnesiatic, you still have common sense

what kind of family, wealthy or not (actually, especially wealthy), lets a complete stranger stay in their house?

do these people have no sense of danger?

but yunho is as stubborn as he is kind, and this was how you ended up staying with the jeong’s

(you insist on working to earn your stay, much to yunho’s dismay. in his head, unless it helped in recovering their memories or, unfortunately, was necessary for survival, who would make an amnesiac work?)

the first couple of days were awkward

duke and duchess jeong had briefed everyone in the manor about your situation, but when making casual conversation, lapses in memory and uncomfortable silences were inevitable

“oh, i adore this purple! hey, what’s your favourite colour?”

“,,,i uh,,, don’t know.”

“,,,i’m so sorry-”

but awkward has never a problem for yunho, and you quickly grew fond of the gentle giant

“since we don’t know your name, can i call you little sun? since i found you on a sunny day and you’re little-”

“yunho, not everyone can be six feet tall”

true to his word, he does his best to help you recover your memories

when you finished your tasks for the day, he’d bring you to all sorts of places, trying all sorts of things

on a hunting trip with yungi, you discovered that: a) you’re proficient in horseback riding, b) you have astounding aim, and c) you’re surprisingly agile

yunho, who’s always been penchant towards athleticism, was delighted to have someone to compete with

mingi just grumbled. sure he was clumsy, but how did someone with no memory beat him?

while helping the gardener, you found out that you have a rather extensive knowledge of flora

yunho jokingly (kinda) suggested that maybe you were a huntress

mingi bombarded you with questions and quizzes about plants

find out what kind of plant you are by decorating your dream room

hoping that you’d run into someone or somewhere familiar, yunho would take on walks all over the city

during your walks, you learned that you preferred nighttime (while he preferred the day), that you found solace in being alone (while he preferred company), that you liked sweet things (while he preferred chips)

a month,

two,

six months passed liked this

you made progress, but you couldn’t stop the bitterness from bubbling in your chest; negativity spreading through your veins like toxin

sure, you consider your favourite colour to be a precious memory in its own right

but who cares about what your favourite colour is when you can’t remember your own name?

you were vexed by the fact that, at this point, you know more about yunho than yourself

even if learning about him made your heart flutter

just a little

and the nightmares

the nightmares

they drove you crazy

you never remembered what you’d dream of, but every night, without fail, you’d wake with tear stained cheeks and sweat soaked clothes

tonight was particularly bad

normally, when you woke, you’d force yourself to take several deep, calming breaths until your breathing evened, grab a glass of water, then crawl back to bed

today, you couldn’t breathe

no matter what or how hard you tried, your heart wouldn’t stop pummeling against your ribcage;

your blood wouldn’t stop rushing between your ears, creating a cacophony no one else could hear;

wave after wave of nausea would slam into your gut

your vision’s blurring

oh god

you’re gonna pass out

you’re gonna pass out and forget the memories you worked so hard to remember and all the memories you made and you’re gonna forget yunho and mingi and-

suddenly, much like the first day, two large hands engulf your own, idly tracing lines from your wrist to your fingertips

“little sun, it’s me, yunho. your yunho. focus on my hands and voice, yeah? i’m right here.”

he continues to murmur sweet nothings until finally, finally, your heart settles back in your chest, your breathing levels, and your vision clears enough to see yunho

your yunho

and in this state, one look at his kind eyes is enough for the tears you’ve been holding in all this time to spill over

because though you cry in your sleep, you never let yourself cry when you’re awake

too focused on chores, too focused on remembering, too focused on trying to get some semblance of control over this uncontrollable situation

without a word, he pulls you into his chest and runs his fingers through your sweaty hair, offering the sound of his heartbeat to anchor you back to this four poster bed when you were ready

but g*d, does it break his heart to see you cry

he expected to hear you wail, to take the brunt of your fists as you pound his chest

but he hears nothing

instead, he feels your tears soak his shirt, feels how you tremble in his arms

and that is so much worse.

it takes long minute for you to stop crying, and another for you to feel composed enough to detach yourself from yunho’s (now soggy) chest

you’re sure you look awful

puffy eyes, blotchy cheeks, and a runny nose

(and you feel embarrassed that yunho witnessed your breakdown)

but he thumbs away the remaining tears from your cheeks and murmurs that he’ll be right back, returning with tissues and a glass of water 

and a new shirt

he hands you the glass of water, tosses your used tissues in the garbage, and climbs underneath your (technically his) covers, patting the space beside him

when you too find refuge in the warm blankets, he pulls you back into his chest

his arm acts as your pillow as he kisses the crown of your head, murmuring into your hair

“wanna talk about it?”

it takes you several moments, but you eventually tell him about the negativity seeping into every inch of skin

the nightmares you never recall keeping you up at night

the irrational feeling of stupidity because you can’t remember who you are

yunho silently, attentively listens to you as you spill your heart

and if he hadn’t pulled you so close, you might’ve seen the weariness in his usually carefree features

the conflict and hollowness brewing in his normally inviting eyes

but by the time you finished talking and pulled back, the expression was gone and the familiar smile you adored so much was back in place

“tomorrow, let’s go to the place where i found you.”

a faint smile bloomed on your lips because though this wasn’t the first time you visited, it was a reminder that you weren’t alone

that no matter how the chances dwindled, yunho would remind you that it was never zero

it was hope that got you through the night

the two of you have never done anything that could be considered anything but platonic

much to mingi’s irritation

but just for tonight, yunho decides to be a little greedy

he kisses your forehead, your cheeks, your nose, your eyelids, you wrists, your palms, your knuckles, your fingers

anywhere he can reach,

except for your lips

you’re emotionally exhausted and vulnerable; he’d feel like a dick if he forced a decision - especially an emotionally fraught one - onto you right now

he threads your fingers together, murmuring soft promises: you’ll remember who you were, you’ll be okay, you’ll find your way again

and you finally let the exhaustion, the steady rhythm of his heart, the rise and fall of his chest, and the warmth and comfort that is yunho lull you to sleep

the next morning is a cold one

gusts of wind bite into your skin as you curl in on yourself, trying to preserve any remaining shred of body heat

noticing this, yunho tucks you under his arm with a sheepish smile and flushed cheeks that were definitely red because of the cold and not because he was flustered

cute

a peaceful silence falls between you two as he leads you to the alley

and since it was early, the only sounds that accompanied you was the quiet patter of your footsteps and the chirps of birds reluctant to travel south

feeling like it simultaneously took too long and not long enough, the two of you arrive

an odd smile settles on yunho’s lips

,,,was that bitterness?

“,,,here we are.”

interrupting your train of thought, he takes your hand and leads you to where he found you

you could feel it

somewhere in the back of your mind, something almost tangible was shoving its way forward

you’re so close, just a little more and-

suddenly, a chill that had nothing to do with the weather ran down your spine

before you could understand what you were feeling, yunho shoved you behind him and parried the dagger aimed for his chest

a gruff looking man only a little shorter than he stood before him

his clothes tattered and dirty, skin littered with scars, hair and beard scraggly and matted, he looked like one of the many men that inhabited the slums

but those men were sagging skin and bones, never knowing where or if they would get a next meal

this man was muscular

and judging by the familiarity of his actions, this clearly wasn’t his first assassination 

the two men, unable to disengage, snarl as they continue to press into each other

much to your surprise, when you were about to jump into the fray, the assassin screams at you

“YOU ‘UCKING WHORE, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! KILL HIM!”

big mistake

because not only is yunho clever and athletic, he’s one lucky bastard

in the brief second the assassin’s attention was diverted, yunho ducks

his weight and moment carries him forward, and he stumbles,,,right onto yunho’s blade.

yanking both his blood soaked short sword and body away from the assassin, the man crumples to the ground

but until life is drained from his eyes, he bores holes into your head, message clear: kill him

a deafening silence weighs down upon you when the man stops breathing

even the wind stills

yunho stands there, a far away look in his eyes as he grips the short sword

blood is splattered all over his hands, across his cheek

it trickles from the hilt, down the blade, and eventually drips onto the ground beneath him

snow begins to drift from the gray skies, landing on his hair, his cheeks, his eyelashes, his coat

as if trying to comfort him

as if trying to wash the blood away

and you?

you couldn’t move.

not when the floodgates had opened and a torrent of memories threatened to pull you under

you knew who you were

you were yn, born to a peasant mother who died at birth and a father that abandoned you soon after

a ghost of a person, and unknown assassin raised by an unnamed noble who resented the jeong’s for their wealth, their nobility, and their favour with the royal family despite their peculiar attitude

nothing but a tool 

a tool told that if successful, he’d grant you wealth and freedom

but that if you failed, he’d kill you himself

…

the assassin wasn’t after yunho, he was after you

a warning to finish the job, or else

you couldn’t stop your hands from shaking

and yunho,

there’s no comfort this time.

not when he drew lines of blood across the back of your hand, not when you searched and couldn’t read anything expect for this sad smile on his ordinarily open features

his suspicions appeared early on, spurred by your unusually good marksmanship, agility, and uncanny knowledge of plants

specifically poisonous ones

he turned to this “unconventional” ways of gathering information

starting off with his kids,

then some trusted tclose contacts

but when nothing - and he meant a questionable amount of nothing - turned up, he left the legal sphere and delved in the underground; the black markets

yunho has people who owe him favours - people who’s debts he’s paid off, who’s fights he’s fought on their behalf 

it took a few months, but eventually he got the information he wanted

marquess yoo who openly showed his distaste for the jeong family “released his pet into the wild”

but the jeong’s were not stupid, and they were loved

when yunho’s father confided to some close acquaintances about the predicament they were facing, they took matters into their own hands

they never meant to hurt you

only to capture you and talk you out of killing, bribing you with money, protection - threats, if necessary - if you testified against marquess yoo

but somewhere along the way, things got messy 

it ended with an unconscious girl lying in the middle of an abandoned alley; three grown men running away because oh dear lord, she’s dead; and a child leading yunho straight to you

letting go of your hands, yunho goes to kneel beside the man he just killed

closing his eyes, he mutters a prayer for the (not so) poor soul who unknowingly got himself tangled in this mess, and grabs the dagger 

it feels like someone doused you in ice as yunho walks back to you

horror morphs on your face as he gently - why was he always so gentle? - wraps your fingers around the hilt and places the blade against his neck

the smile that you love so much but currently hate rests on his lips as he cups the side of your face with his free hand

his thumb idly brushes against your cheek, eyes twinkling with adoration as he drinks in every last detail of your face as if,,,

as if,,,

he’s ready to die

“no one knows we left this morning and no one knows we’re here; not even mingi. if you kill me, you’ll have enough time to collect some of your reward and run away.”

by now your hands were shaking so much that if yunho didn’t have his hand wrapped around yours, you would’ve dropped the blade

but as the snow floats down and lands in your hair, in his eye lashes, in the fog of your shared breaths, in the space between you,

here to witness a great tragedy

you both knew,

that one of you has to die.

“How is she?” Todoroki asked as he witnessed the scene before him.

None of them were expecting your quirk to go rampant for a few seconds. Being kept under surveillance, it was a miracle that UA signed the papers to let Recovery Girl be in charge. With your quirk’s sudden outburst, a good portion of her office was now upside down. The closest bed to yours was flipped over, the machine monitoring your vital signs now rested on the floor, and the window separating you from the rest now torn into shreds.

“Her vitals are still normal.” Recovery Girl said as she fixed the machine. Making sure that everything was as it was, she sighed and stared at your sleeping body. In all her years as a nurse, this would have to be the first time she would experience this. “Todoroki-san. Your father’s lab sent me some EEG results. I went over them a few hours ago.”

Todoroki nodded. His fist slowly balling.

“It perplexes me.” She pointed her index at you. “Her brain activity shows no sign of being in a commative state. In fact, it’s the opposite. The results told me that her brain is as active as ever.”

“Then why is she sleeping?” Bakugo asked. All this time he had been quietly observing. “If this extra’s brain is acting up, why the hell isn’t she responding?”

“I still have to run a few tests. And maybe call a few colleagues. It’s only been the second day, with a quirk like hers, it may be normal for her body to remain in a constant state of consciousness.”

Deku was about to speak up till he saw the faint glow of yellow on your palms once more. Everyone in the room prepared and distanced themselves from your sleeping body but nothing extreme happened. Staring at how the glow was steady and disappeared after a few seconds, collective hums and tiny gasps filled the room. With nothing happening next, Recovery Girl motioned for the three boys to leave.

Inside the classroom, everyone was waiting for the doors to slide open. When it did, everyone began bombarding them with questions till Bakugo finally yelled at them to shut their mouths. Commanding Todoroki to tell them, the half and half boy began.

“Recovery Girl said that (y/n)’s brain doesn’t show signs of being in a coma.”

“The girl’s quirk went haywire in the clinic. Either she’s sleep fighting or her quirk is getting out of control. You two were handed a mission, right? What exactly happened half and half? You hidin’ somethin’ or shit?”

“Kacchan, Todoroki-kun already explained what happened.” Deku tried to calm down the angry pomeranian. It worked but he received a snarl. Looking at Todoroki, Deku asked. “You’ve known her longest, do you think she’ll be okay?”

“She was in pain when I last saw her conscious. It angers me that there’s nothing much I can do but to hope that she’ll recover.”

Meanwhile, in another dimension, you were now preparing the gym with Yukie and Kaori. Dragging the cart out, you had been assigned to take care of the volleyballs. Pumping and making sure that there was enough air in them, you felt glad for the mini work out. It had been too long since you last worked out and even this amount was barely enough to maintain your body.

Asking a member, he hesitantly agreed into letting you become the new ball boy.

“(y/n)-chan? You sure you wanna be incharge of the balls?” Konoha asked.

“Yeah. There’s more than enough managers and it would be good exercise for me.” It was a shocker that Konoha even talked to you. Among the team, he was one of the few people you didn’t bother to research about. All you knew was he could cheer Bokuto up and that was that. Satisfied with your reply, you watched as he excused himself and walked back to begin his warm up.

At the end of the day, your body was far from sore. Not even an increase in your heart rate. Though, you did sweat but only due to the heat the gym radiated. Now that you were inside the girl’s locker room, you stretched your limbs only to be left unsatisfied.

“You moved and caught the balls like there was no tomorrow yet you barely broke a sweat.” Kaori commented as she took her shirt off. Yukie chimed in and agreed with the statement.

“I used to work out a lot back in Musutafu.” Taking your shirt off, the two girls gasped at the sight of your toned body. It had only dawned you that this would be the first time you were changing with them. You always made it a habit to enter the gym earlier than the others.

“Were you in a gang? Why do you have a lot of scratches on your body, (y/n)?” Yukie took a step closer and feasted on all your small battle scars.

Mentally cursing that you did not think this moment through, you chewed on your inner cheek and tried to think of an explanation.

“I think it’s pretty obvious that I’m a clutz, Yukie-san.”

“A big one at that.” She pointed to a particular one. The most painful one of them all. Running from your shoulder to the tip of your breastbone, the memory of Toga digging her knife across your skin made you shudder. Seeing how you shuddered, Yukie felt guilt for intruding such personal space.

“It’s fine, Yukie-san~ No need to apologize.” You stopped her before she could speak. “Those were just… tough times ya know? But, this doesn’t hurt or even affect me that much anymore.”

“Well, you better get dressed quickly,” Kaori commented as she giggled. “Akaashi-san just sent you a message saying he’s waiting by the gate.”

Changing quickly, you could feel the stares behind you.

“Nothing is going on, okay? We’re just neighbors.” You pouted with your eyebrows furrowing.

“So you mean to say, you have the strength to walk past his beautiful face?”

“Yes, Kaori-san.” You replied with a deadpan voice. Yes, you admired him during the first day here in this dimension but that was it.

“And that none of those athletic boys caught your attention?”

“None at all.” Shrug.

The two girls shared a quiet giggle. Squinting your eyes, you stared at them till they waved you off and told you to have fun on your walk back home with the setter. Now that you were walking towards the gate, you checked up on your quirk once more. The pulling sensation was a little stronger, the glow a little brighter, but no significant changes. When you saw Akaashi leaning on the wall, his gunmetal blue eyes looked silver under the moonlit night.

“Shall we?”

“Yeah.”

The walk began and it was wrapped in silence once more. But, this time, the silence was comfortable. It gave you enough time to gather your thoughts. Every now and then, you would ask a school related question to the setter and immediately a response was given. Passing by a cafe, your eyes were glued to the (favorite pastry) being showcased. On record time, your stomach sang and your cheeks turned red.

“You hungry?” Akaashi asked as he stared at the (favorite pastry). “I don’t mind eating dinner out. The food this cafe offers is pretty tasty.”

“Can we?” A wide grin formed on the corners of your mouth. When he nodded his head, you grabbed on to his hand and dragged him inside the cafe. The scent of brewed coffee accompanied by the soothing melodies of soft jazz reminded you of Kiri and Bakugo’s study sessions.

Bringing him to the counter, Akaashi’s eyes focused on both your hands. There was no spark now, but this time a small pulling sensation took its place. Judging that it might have been the effects of practice he brushed it off and enjoyed the warmth your hold had to offer.

“I’ll have pasta and a slice of that (favorite pastry) please!” The giddiness in your voice made the cashier smile.”What about you, Akaashi-san?”

“Caesar salad and a pork chop.”

Offering to pay for the food, you let go of his hand and fished out your pocket. It wasn’t too expensive and the money your o-mother gave you was slowly piling up. Getting the number, you pointed to a small booth that had enough privacy the two of you would appreciate.

“Do you eat here a lot, Akaashi-san?”

“Not quite.” The way he sat down was very proper compared to yours. Though he didn’t really mind. “I do like their latte’s here. What about you, Firecracker?”

“Firecracker?” You raised a brow and your palms began to sweat.

“Have you eaten here before?”

“Nope. This would have to be my first time.” Your eyes scanned the decoration. It was homey and rustic. The lights above you looked as if the designer had a lot of glass bottles at home. “You’re pretty good at dealing with Bokuto-san’s personality.”

“Barely. I just grew up with him.”

“Were you in the volleyball club in middle school?”

“Yeah.” He began to play with his fingers. “But my teammates weren’t as dedicated. What about you?”

“Well, I didn’t join any club.” You placed your elbow on the table and rested your chin on your palm. Your stare glued to the boy sitting across you. “But I did like aiding the support department from time to time. They built some pretty interesting gears that helped me and my friends cope with the curriculum.”

“Gears?” The look of confusion was amusing. It was subtle but clear.

“Yeah.” You smirked. “UA was pretty brutal when it came to subjects. Being in 1-A was interesting and the smallest trip caused a lot of chaos. It was fun, scared the shit out of us, but the experience was worth it.”

“You’re talking as if you have special abilities.” His eyebrow was the one raised now. The playful glimmer in your eyes evident.

“Are you saying I’m not special, Akaashi-san?”

“I never implied that, (l/n)-san.”

The both of you stared each other down for a while. Being with Akaashi in a private booth was a different experience. His extra shirt was a little loose on him, thus hiding his well formed shoulders. A little sad, you had to admit. Being given the opportunity to stare at his face, you had to give him praise. He really was gorgeous despite looking a tad tired from the heinous practice.

“I’m kidding. Ya got me.” You pulled out a tissue and threw it on the table. A white flag, so to speak. “I wasn’t into sports. I was mostly in the background and focused on my studies. Boring right?”

“Far from it.” The corner of his lip curled up for the slightest bit. That small smile made your tummy feel weird and tingly.

“Indeed. I’m far from boring.” You winked. “I’m probably the most interesting person here in this dimension called Tokyo.”

“You’re rubbing ass now.”

“So the very proper and dainty Akaashi Keiji knows how to swear?” You feigned surprise and couldn’t help but laugh a bit at the words he had just said.

“Ass is not a swear word, (l/n) (y/n).”

“You’re right. It’s something you're blessed with.” Fuck. You got carried away. Biting your tongue and clearing your throat, the food finally arrived. Hopefully he’d let it slip and just enjoy the meal. “ANYWAY~ Thanks for letting me drag you in here.”

“My pleasure.”

The meal was pleasant and the embarrassment of complimenting his ass forgotten. Yet, the feeling of finally telling someone about a few things back home was a huge weight off your shoulders. Having to bottle up so much knowledge that you’re a complete stranger in this world was straining.

Akaashi noticed it too. How your shoulders relaxed and your features as well indicated that you had just taken a load off your problems. He couldn’t pinpoint what it was but he was pretty sure that there was more to what you had just told him. Not to mention your choice of words were far from being carefully selected, almost as if it was natural to you. Swallowing his thoughts, he continued savoring the food and the enigma before him.

Now standing on the street, in the middle of your houses, you stared at the gap between the two buildings. 5 meters was your estimated distance. Not too far and not too close, a pretty standard distance based on the houses in the neighborhood.

“Thanks for walking me home, Akaashi-san.”

“I’ll see you tomorrow, (l/n)-san.”

“Ya know, we might as well drop the honorifics. Neighbors, same year, same team.” You were never one to like formalities anyway. “But, I’m cool with keeping it tho.”

“In that case, I can agree with your proposal.” Akaashi now walked towards his side of the area. With his back facing you, he glanced over his shoulder and bowed. “Goodnight, Firecracker.”

Firecracker. That was more of a Bakugo thing, if you were to be honest.

But, coming from his mouth?

You were more than willing to let him call you that.

An Im sorry that it took me so long buut you know these past days have been kind of weird :D 

"You sure that you can handle that?" The captain looked at me with suspiciousness and I tried to build myself up, nodding confidently. I felt, how someone was staring at me, and as I looked around, some of the crew members were checking me out, with some ambiguous smiles.

"My Ship, My Rules. Get on." Finally the captain moved and I could get on board. I didn't know if I would regret this. But for now, I was fine with anything that could get me away from here. I walked around the deck and observed everything with curiosity, when 2 men coming on board got my attention. One of them had an immense presence and even though I was standing on the other side of the ship, I could feel his strange aura as well. They passed by and as this strange man looked up, our eyes met. He noticed that a ship was not my place to be, but he just smiled softly."M'Lady." Something felt odd. I made a small step back and bumped into the wooden deck rail. "No need to make our little guest feel insecure and why even trying to hit on her? You will just sit in a cell and asking for mercy." the second man pushed him forwards.

 It was when I noticed, that he was wearing handcuffs behind his back, before they both disappeared under the deck. It wasn't much later before the ship was setting sail and starting its journey towards the horizon. I stood at the bow and gazed towards the sunset, but I wasn't alone for long before the captain stood by my side. "Have you found your place to sleep yet? Even though I don't want to give you any extra treatment, I think you should sleep in a cabin instead of the dormitory." He nodded towards his crew and I understood.

He leads me under the deck, where all the hammocks for the crew members hang. The air smelled like sweat and kitchen and I was relieved when we continued walking down the hallway, away from the smell and the eyes. We were passing cabins filled with wares before he stopped and pointed at a door."It is probably not what a Lady like you knows. But you better get used to it."

"Thank you, I will." gracefully I smiled at him, before he left me alone. 

I looked around the hallway and noticed something shimmering a few cabinets further. Making sure, no one was watching, I walked towards the shimmering thing, but I still couldn't really make out, what it was.

"What is a nobility doing on a ship like this?" I gasped and I recognized the young man from before."I'm not a nobility and why do you care?" his chains were rattling as he stood up and held on to the metallic bars, which were the cause of the shimmering I have noticed before. 

He chuckled. "Your necklace told me." his eyes were fixed on it and I quickly held on to  it. "So why are you here then? Running away from a forced marriage?" my eyes grew bigger and my mouth stood open. "H-how?"

He let go of the bars and pushed his hair, out of his face.

 "Let me guess.. Your father wanted you to marry some kind of officer, because of the family honor." Something about him felt odd.It seemed like his coat never has been washed before and his earrings were shimmering in the dark.

"Oh where are my manners." he bowed politely "My name is Choi San, but you can call me San." he gave me a friendly wink and looked at me expectant.

 I have been taught to greet everyone with respect, so I did a curtsy and revealed my identity " Y/N. Daughter of Y/N/Father"

"It's a pleasure to meet you" he looked down the hallway, where the crew members were chatting. "Let me give you a tip: Stay away from the crew. Don't walk around at night and the most important, lock your room whenever you are inside," he revealed a worried look on his face. My eyes switched between him and the others. "Why are you telling me that? I don't know anything about you and there must be a reason for you to be handcuffed." I raised my chin and turned around."Besides I should not talk to you. Have a good day." I was about the leave, as he began talking again.

 "Other than you, I know what it is like to be on a ship. These men over there are nothing more than wretched beggars just waiting for something to put their dick in."I froze in my movements and starred at the crew. Even though I didn't want to admit it, he was right about it. He clicked his tounge,  slid down the wall and closed his eyes."Get some rest M´Lady. This is going to be a loooong and hard trip."

The days passed and there was still no land in sight. My stomach began to get upset about the permanent pitching and tossing from the boat. I took San's words serious and tried to stay safe: Every night, I would make sure that no one was following me and every time, I would hear him saying "Good night M´Lady." before I would lock myself in the cabin. 

But one night it was different. He didn't wish me a good night, and even though I shouldn't care, it felt weird. I walked towards his cell, where he stood at the porthole and looked out into the night. It was silent for a while before he started talking: "Make sure to not be on deck tomorrow. Stay inside your cabin. Even though you might be hungry, do not go outside and keep. The door. locked." he turned around and walked towards me.

"Here take this. Make sure to wear it tomorrow." He held out a necklace, with a small compass attached to it. "What? Why?" confused I looked at him but he just reached out, took my hand and placed the necklace inside it before he closed his hand around mine. "Just do it, okay? And now.." he released my hand and walked back to the porthole. "Have a good Night M´Lady." He ended the conversation and left me with many questions. I knew that he wouldn't give me any answers now, so I decided to just go to bed.

However I couldn't fall asleep. I held the necklace between two fingers and took a closer look. My attention was brought to the back of the compass where the letters C and S were engraved. It was when I heard some steps on the deck. 

It was early in the morning and everyone should be sleeping... I got out of bed and walked towards the door, as I recalled San´s words. What is going on?

My curiosity won over my rationality and I opened the door, popped my head out and looked around. The hallway was filled with the sound of sleeping Sailors and the ships crunching wood, as I stepped on to the hallway. I sneaked past the sailors and got on deck. Assuming I wouldn't meet anyone, the Helmsman caught me off guard and wished me a good morning, but besides him, the deck was empty and peaceful. The wood squeezed under my weight, whilst I strode around the deck, trying to catch a glimpse of the rising sun at the horizon, through the misty morning.

"PIRATES! EVERYONE G-" a scream disturbed this peaceful morning.I turned around and witnessed the Helmsmann getting knocked out, causing his knocked-out body to fall with a dull thud. My body was in shock and ready to screech, when someone grabbed me from behind and prevented me from doing so. "What is a beautiful lady like you doing on a ship like this?" someone smirked in my ear. I identfied the person as a strong male, who was used to a life on board. He smelled like rum and seaweed and probably haven't got the chance to wash him in some days, maybe even weeks. I tried to free myself but in vain. "Shh princess, you don't want to get hurt, do you?"A shiver went down my spine, when I noticed the big ship through the thick fog, loaded with greedy pirates, who one after one jumped on this ship. I once again tried to free myself, but this time, I bit on his finger and hit a sensitive spot. Immediately he let go and crawled up in pain. " Ohh you gonna regret that very soon!" he groaned and tried to chase after me. It was a big mess: the deck was filled with sailors and pirates fighting each other. Is this what San meant? Is this why I should've stayed in my cabin? But whats he got to do with this? How did he know? I had so many questions that I didn't realize the Pirate from before reaching out for my wrist. I jumped in the air end let out a squeal before I managed to run further and into someone else. I was ready to fight until I recognized the smile. It was San who held me in one arm whilst he held a sword in the other."I told you to stay inside," he smirks while fighting with someone. Puzzled I looked at him, but I didn't ask any question since he protected me against everyone. We worked our way through the battlefield, as we came to a stop.

"Jump!" in the act of fighting, he shouted at me in a commanding way.

"You must be crazy! Im no-" and before I could protest any further, he pushed me over the edge.The water hit me hard and my body was starting to stitch from the cold. In my chest I could hear my heart beating fast, trying its best to keep my body alive. I sank deeper into the dark, my body too paralyzed to move. Everything before my eyes went black, before my mother appeared in front of me. She reached out to me and I tried to grab her hand, but it was pointless. Asudden I felt a grip around my waist and my body got pulled toward the water surface.As soon as I surfaced I inhaled sharply and Eagerly gasping for air.

"You drowning was not part of the plan." San held my head over the surface, helping me to breathe. I never learned how to swim, since I was never asked to.I Caught and spit some seawater back to the ocean."Why are you helping me?"He chuckles

 "Just trust me, okay?" he began to swim towards a dinghy, at which he helped me to get on, before he jumped in as well and started to row. My body was shivering and I held onto myself."Come on. You don't want to sit there all day, do you?" I didn't notice him getting up and going on board of another ship. Shaking I got up and followed him.

"Our captain is finally back!" I heard someone howling, followed by cheering. I looked around and realized that this wasn't the ship I was sleeping on the past few days. This was a pirate ship!

My eyes grew wide in panic. Maybe I just should have been drowning, this probably would have been much better. "Don't be so frighten M´Lady. They wont hurt you." San stood by my side, but something on him was different, he was wearing a hat and not just any hat.

"Wait.. Are you?" 

"The captain? Indeed" He finished my sentence with a grin on his face. The whole crew went silent as he stepped forwards and started talking.

"I'm proud of you! Even though I wasn't on my ship, you kept it in a perfect condition!" a latter walked around before he continued "You guys saved me from something, I don't want to imagine... Probably you would have seen me hanging at some port... BUT let me tell you something: No one gets my head and if you mess with me, you mess with ALL of us!" the pirates started cheering and whistling. "BUT then again!" he turned around, took my hand gentleman-like and made me step forwards. 

"I did not come alone." The crew went quiet and stared at me.

"This is Lady Y/N and now part of this crew! If anyone touches you, I swear that this would be your last Lady to touch. Do you guys understand!"All of them agreed unanimous with an "AYE!" San smiled in satisfaction before he raised his fist."AND NOW, SET SAIL AND LETS GO HOME!" the crew went on and San turned around to face me "Follow me.." he let go of my hand and started walking. 

"Ladies first" he opened a door, let me step inside the captain cabin and what I got to see there, was marvelous.

 A big wooden table placed at the end of the room, in front of the windows, a king-sized bed placed in one corner and a huge map on the wall. San pulled out another chair and placed it in front of the table. He gently pushed the chair so I could sit down comfortably, before he gave me a blanket and sat down on his chair. He leaned forward and smiled, amused by my overwhelmed expression. "You probably have a lot of questions, so go on. Ask." relaxed he leaned back and I tried to sort my thoughts.

"Well.. I guess you knew they would attack since you are their capitain... So far soo good. But why did you took me with you? And where are we going now?"

"Ohh that's a really good question. Well, I knew where this ship was going to. It would sail straight to the capital. Even though you are a Lady from the upper class, I doubt that you would find a suitable way to survive without ending in a brothel or in someone's basement. As for now, we are heading for OUR capital city, or should I say Island?" he pointed towards the necklace on my neck, which he gave me before "and as long as you are wearing this, you are under my protection. No one will dare to hurt you, when they see my sign."I tried to connect the dots "But why are you doing this? Why are you helping me."

"I've seen many like you. They ended in a worse situation than what they came from. I've had enough. Seeing all those innocent girls suffer. You don't have to trust me. I can find someone who can take you to the capital or somewhere else. I will give you some pocket money for the first days but after that you will be on your own, if it's that what you wish." I don't know what it was, but something made me trust him. He was speaking the truth and from all the rumors you heard about pirates, especially their capitals, have been proven wrong by now.

 "No. Take me with you." I said with confidence, which made him smile with pride.

Dorm Rooms pt 3 ~ Rowaelin

hey guys, sorry it took me a while to write this aha but here you go. Hope its okay. i think i managed to include a link to the first two but idk how to do it so it might not have worked aha x

It had been a week since Aelin had last seen Rowan as she has done her damned best to avoid both him and his bastard of a room mate and it would appear that Rowan was doing exactly the same.

She had however seen Aedon the day after her ‘encounter’ with Rowan and she thought he might have passed out at the memory of hearing his cousin scream his high school crushes name. He wasn’t going to lie though, if Rowan had been leaning towards liking guys he too would have let the tall silver brute make him scream in ecstasy. But then again who wouldn’t.

Aelin had gone as far as climbing out their dorm room window and down the vines and pipes below it just to avoid them. And Lysandra still made sly comments about that night that made Aelin go bright red.

Right now Aelin was sliding on a tight red dress that stopped midway down her thighs and had a low dip in the back. The one and only Dorian Hillivard was hosting the party of the year at his mansion and Aelin wasn't one for missing a good party.

She applied a dark ruby colour to her lips and some mascara on her lashes before pulling on her black stilettos. Her feet would be dead by the end of the night but hopefully the pain would ebb away after a few drinks. She stuck her head out the door making sure there were no signs of silver before rushing out the building where Lysandra and Aedon were to pick her up.

Aelin could hear the music blasting from inside the car that was parked a bit down the road from the mansion and when she stepped on the sidewalk it was almost like she could already feel the thrum of the beat under her skin.

It was already pretty busy, but Dorians parties always were. Choal greeted them at the door and pointed out where the two keggs had been placed among other alcohol. The kitchen and the back garden. Dorian was leaning against the counter talking to some people Aelin didn't recognise but he ushered her over and began pouring her a drink. a vodka tonic  with a lime and pink umbrella, handing over to a grinning Aelin who lifted herself up to sit on the black marble worktop.

“I didn't think you we be joining us” Dorian states with a sly smile “when have I ever missed a party?” why the hell would she miss this one especially. His smirk widened at that and Aelin knew he wasn't telling her something “what?”

But Dorian didn't even get the chance to answer as a flash of silver hair and stark black tattoos caught her eye, a frown forming on her lips immediately. She turned to the smug cow next to her “what. The. hell. Is he doing here?” Rowan Whitehorn never went to parties. Not once had she seen him at one. Not once. So what the fuck was he doing here.

Dorian chuckled at the look on his friends face “what?” he asked innocently, but his smirk gave him away “I thought you two were getting along. Lysandra told me you two had so much fun together she could hear you from the next room” Dorian bit his lip to hold back his lip. Of course Lysandra told him that.

Aelin hopped off the counter and stormed past Rowan the companions he brought with him making sure to slam her shoulder into him as she walked past and move her body in a proud yet sexy manner as her watched her leave the room. She heard Lorcan snicker behind her and tossed him the middle finger as she clutched her drink in her other hand and taking a large sip.

Aelin was now on her fourth drink and was beginning to feel the effects, sweat slipping down her brow from mixture of drinking and dancing. Swaying her hips to the beat in a seductive manner and dragging random guys up  to dance with her. Eventually she needed some fresh air so excused herself from the tangle of dancing bodies to drag herself to the back garden.

The fresh air hit her like a stone wall and had to pause to make sure she didn't lose her balance before making her way to hide under the shadow of one of the blossom trees hoping to get a few minutes of peace. She was, however, not so lucky. “Didn't realise you were such the party animal” a husky voice jabbed at her but it didn't sound like a compliment “didn't even realise parties were your kind of scene” Aelin retorted, turning to face Rowan. Even with her heels on he was still quite a bit taller than her. He was wearing a simple pair of black skinny jeans and a tight fitting black top with a pair of vans. God she wished she had a pair of trainers right now.

“I was invited in person, thought I would give it a go” a smirk gently tugged on his lips “or maybe I just came to piss you off”. Aelin let out a small huff and went back to staring at the darkness in front of her, her arms folded across her chest and doing her best to ignore the prick standing next to her.

“Did you follow me out here to piss me off too or do you want something” she snapped at Rowan but was just answered with his deep throaty chuckle. Aelin went to say something else but when she turned to face Rowan he was a lot closer and she had to crane her neck to meet his eyes. He was so close she could smell his strong scent of pine and snow, she could see the intricate details in his tattoo and the shape of his lips. Lips that she was damn sure were very skilled. Lips that had left marks of her just last week.

She could feel his uneven breath against her skin, raising goosbumbs “for some damned reason I cant seem to get you out of my head“ he growled softly and damn did the sound do things to her. He took another step towards her causing her to back up into the tree as he leaned in. His nose almost touching her own and she swore h could hear the sound of her heart in her chest.

Before she could respond his lips captured hers. Not softly but with with a bruising urgency. Her response to that was instant, her own lips pushing back with equal force, her hands gripping his upper arms as he grabbed her by the waist and pulling her into him. It was like he was trying to prove something, the force of the kiss pushing her head further back but one of his hands came up, tangling in her hair and tugging, pulling a soft moan from her lips. His chest pressed roughly against hers.

She wanted to get lost in the feeling of the kiss but instead pushed against Rowans chest. Both of them were panting, their breathing heavy just from a kiss. “It was a one time thing” Aelin forced out. Her lipstick was smudged around Rowans lips and she could feel the swell of her own. Neither of them said anything as she stalked off back into the house grabbing another drink from the kegg on her way in, but she could stop thinking about the kiss. God she hated him but he was so damn good. He was addicting. And it took everything she had not to turn around and go back to him.

Lysandra and Aedon must have found themselves a room or a cosy closet as they weren't anywhere to be found so Aelin made her way back to the large room where all the dancing was happening. Hoping to lose herself in the drink and repetitive thrum of the music. However tonight just didn’t seem to want to go her way as she felt a grip wrap around her arm. She spun on her heel and came face to face with with the tall, tanned brute who had his hair up in a loose man bun “let go of me” she snapped trying to pull her arm from his grip but he held tight “where’s Rowan?” he looked behind her shoulder as if expecting him to appear “why the hell would I know” that made Lorcan laugh “you’re looking tad dishevelled” his shit eating grin really getting on Aelin nerves.

She pulled her arm from his grip again and this time he let go, letting her storm to the bathroom to fix her makeup.

it’s a truth universally acknowledged that if a tri movie is coming out, tumblr user dianaagron (clara for friends) won’t know about it until the day after, when she’ll wake up and check twitter after 84 years of not logging in and realize that yesterday was the day. actually, this time i remembered the episodes were out the same day they were released, but still it was because of good ol’ twitter, because with all the mess that’s going on with me (part of the reason why i’m never here) even if i happened to check at the beginning of the week when soushitsu was coming out, i still managed to completely forget about it in the span of a fucking day. also, i’m fucking pissed because i’ve always watched the thing after downloading the various episodes because that way i have all my stuff and i can go back and easily find caps and other stuff like that but nope not this time because i can’t fucking find a single torrent and i’m refusing to download subbed episodes because a) it’s gonna take so long to direct download something and b) what use are subbed episodes when i know i’d be replacing them with unsubbed ones as soon as i can find working dls (this is a cry of help: tell me where i can download the episodes, im dying, thank you)

one thing to take into account: i was extra pissed for various reasons yesterday night when i watched the first two episodes, so i’m not really sure if that’s why, compared to the shit that i had to deal with in real life, the episodes (in the contrary to all expectations) weren’t bad at all. truth is i actually liked this installment? INCREDIBLE, I KNOW. of course it had its nonsense moments and parts that made me roll my eyes (im buying pizza for everyone who can guess which were those moments) and other negative parts, but i really preferred movie 4 to movie 3. i’m guessing this is an unpopular opinion because i remember everyone was so happy with kokuhaku back in the day and i was the only soul going like lmao i didnt even cry but idk, i liked this one, it wasn’t bad. btw, i said i’m guessing mine could be an unpopular opinion because i’m writing this sorry excuse of a review before reading anything else cause i don’t want to be influenced :)))))

(save me ive written 500 words on nothing) (meanwhile i finally found torrent links) (and i had to pause the review because i ended up going out yesterday night so this is me talking one day later from what you’ve read before)

once again, i feel like nothing happened in the course of these four new episodes. now, i know i’m extremely slow when it comes to get plot points and all that (not because i’m that stupid, thank you very much, but because of my attention span varies from 1 second to 2 and a half so it’s hard for me to recall what happened in the previous installments unless i go and rewatch all of them - thing i won’t ever do because this girl right here is lazy as fuuuck) but if you sit down and think about what was revealed, you get close to nothing lmao.

winning points of the movie (for me):

not too many extreme closeups like in the previous installment. it flowed better, the animation quality wasn’t as terrible as it was in the previous four episodes (im saying this just by quickly looking at the caps i took - while in the other i had so many ugly caps here they all look presentable and usable) (i say this from the point of you of someone who makes edits of course, i dont have the knowledge of an animator lmao), the majority of the shots with mimi, which are the ones that i pay the most attention to, are super pretty, but also those with taichi’s!!! his design was super on point, i have many caps im probably gonna insert later of just him looking hella attractive, and sora!!! omg sora was so fucking beautiful in these episodes i was so :)))) yay for nice designs, they make me happy.

the lack of you know who for basically two episodes. it was so good, so nice, so calming. i was loving life and life was loving me.  

HOW THEY HANDLED THE TAIORATO!!!! if you know me or if you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know this already, but i’m saying this in case i have new readers (HI) or, y’know, to swipe some dust off: i’m not the biggest fan of the main three. that comes from the fact that michi is my otp and i love taishiro probably too much for my own sanity, so i tend to be on the taichi/koushiro/mimi & yamato/sora/jyou side of things (which is like, super unpopular because if it’s not taiorato then it’s yamichi, so you get why my life is a constant struggle). anyway, thing is that i actually loved the interactions between the three? it was light and it felt super real, it could easily be relatable. it was also clear to me that taichi’s and yamato’s roles in sora’s life were blatantly different and i also loved to see how the two of them while being in the same situation reacted differently, but i’m gonna touch this topic later. overall tho, good job on the dynamic between those three. im clapping my hands, i wasn’t excited about it when the movie poster came out five months ago but i’m so happy that they made me love the parts with taichi, yamato and sora.

it wasn’t heavy on fight scenes. i know. I KNOW. but as i’ve said, i’m not the average digimon fan so i’m happy with my bonds developing and less fights and all that stuff :))))

Inside your room, you locked your doors and sat down at your desk. The only light illuminating your room was your desk lamp. If your theory was right, then perhaps Akaashi could either have a quirk or be your ticket back home.

During the whole duration your hand held his, the all too familiar pulling sensation was present. That feeling of being able to move confidently with your quirk was ever present. Checking the glow of your palm, your heart rate increased at the much brighter glow. Positioning your palms above the plant, you began to manipulate its entirety.

Right before your eyes, the desert rose succulent began to lose its shape. Lifting the mass and separating it from the soil, you willed your quirk to work harder. It was rather painful but somehow you were now manipulating its properties till you were left with a new succulent. A Hoya plant now replaced the rose.

With trembling hands and uneven breathing, you rested your forehead on the desk. The glow was now non-existent. Juicing out your quirk was unintended but definitely worth it.

The next morning, you woke up with a headache and nausea. Going down the stairs, o-mother was already in the kitchen busying herself with breakfast. Just as she was about to greet you, she gasped and jogged towards you.

“Honey, are you alright?” Seeing a pale daughter early in the morning was something a mother would not want to see.

“Yeah. I’m fine, mom.” You let her feel your temperature. “Just a little dizzy that’s all.”

“Make sure to take and bring medicine before you leave, okay?” Hearing your confirmation, she went back and continued to make breakfast. “Will Akaashi-kun walk with you today?”

“It’s pretty much given by now~” You smiled softly at the thought. “And, don’t worry. He can pretty much tell that I’m not in tip top shape so he’ll give me a scolding to take better care of my health.”

“Took the words out of my mouth~” She giggled and now placed the plate of food in front of you. “If you feel worse, I’m one call away.”

Breakfast was always something you looked forward to. You weren’t exactly sure as to what made it so special. There was nothing wrong with your real mother’s cooking; It wasn’t bland, overly seasoned, or even half cooked. Maybe it was how she was using her hands. It required more effort and time. That was probably it.

With breakfast over and uniform on, you stared at the mirror and checked for any last minute changes. Seeing that things were looking fine, you went towards your window and slid it open. The sight before you was rather heavenly.

A pretty boy sitting on the ledge, eyes closed as his head rested on the frame. Not a single wrinkle on his uniform. Practice wasn’t as tiring as it was compared to the others, so why was he dozing off? Not that you were complaining. This version of Akaashi was pleasing to the eyes.

Without thinking, you grabbed your phone and took a picture. You were about to call his name till you had an idea. Going to your desk, you took out a pen and paper and scribbled out some words. Folding it effortlessly into a plane. Something this light would have no strain on your quirk.

Aiming the plane towards his intertwined fingers, your palms began to faintly glow. Making the piece of paper glide through the air, you made the small note dive to his hands. Just enough to startle him. Startled Akaashi was a sight to remember.

Blinking himself awake, he stared at the random paper plane. Checking to see if it was from his neighbor, he glanced at your window only to see his suspicions to be correct. Unfolding the plane, he shook his head and folded the paper. Tossing it to his desk, he motioned for you that he too was ready to leave for school.

Passing by the convenience store, you held onto his arm and shook it gently.

“Snack bar?” When he nodded, Akaashi found himself being dragged once again. Facing the shelf, your eyes scanned for a new bar to try out. Overwhelmed with the variety, you faced him and shook his arm again. “What flavor do you recommend today, sir?”

Taking a simple chocolate-oat bar, you accepted it and made your way to the counter. This time, you offered to pay for the bars and he simply gave his thanks.

For the whole duration of the walk, his arm was being held delicately by your hand. Resting on the crease of his elbow, he would occasionally steal glances at your small fingers. He didn’t really mind it but the question lingered in his mind. Why?

When the school gates were approaching, you let go of his arm and tucked it into your pocket. Feeling your quirk raising from 7% to 15% from that small contact alone was very thought provoking. He didn’t really seem to mind it so, maybe it was fine.

Time was rather fast today. From the classroom walls, you were now inside the girl’s locker room changing into your proper attire. Knowing you had a few minutes before the others would arrive, you stared at your palm. Making it glow for a few seconds, a memory popped up.

The corners of your mouth lifted when you remembered Todoroki and you as small children. His face void of the scar yet the pain in his eyes present each time you two would see each other. Thinking of ways to cheer him up, you would light up your small hand and manipulate the light around you. Sometimes, you would create small firefly like orbs or just let them glow alternatively.

Missing your friend, you lit up both your palms and did so. That was one of the little secrets that you two shared.

When the doors of the room opened, you closed your palms and continued changing.

Now that you were catching the balls from behind, you were still a little pissed at how the rigorous movements were not enough for your body. There was no option as to where you could train like how you used to unless you snuck out in the middle of the night to some construction site and lift steel bars and such.

Returning a ball to the bin, you let out a sigh.

“(y/n)!”

A little too late in your reflexes. Being so lost in thought made you cancel out your environment once again. A stray serve from Sarukui landed on your cheek. Landing on your side, you groaned and tried to rub off the pain. You weren’t even going to deny that you felt as if Deku had punched you in the face with his quirk.

“I’m so sorry!” Sarukui kept on apologizing but you told him it was your fault.

Bokuto was quick to get an ice pack but Yukie grabbed the small item and threw it to Akaashi. The pretty boy wasn’t expecting it but he knew what the manager was trying to plot. When he saw the girl gesturing to him to go and do his job, he bowed a bit and jogged towards your sitting form.

“You alright, (l/n)?” He said as he sat down beside you and handed the ice pack.

“Happens to the best of us.” You accepted it and felt relief pass through your cheek. A grateful sigh escaped your lips. “Thanks, Akaashi.”

“It might bruise. Will you be okay with it?”

“Yeah. I’m used to bruises so it doesn’t really matter.”

“Used to bruises?” He asked. His fingers fiddling around. Tilting his head, he watched as the ice pack began to drip water.

“I told you.” You faced him. “I’m the most interesting person in this dimension, Akaashi.”

His eyes began to trail down your forearm till the small growing puddle beside you. Tilting his head with confusion as to how you were oblivious to the fastly melting ice pack. Noticing he was preoccupied, you followed his gaze and only just saw the puddle. Your eyes widened and you removed the water filled pack.

Was it even possible? Of course not. But, what if?

Focusing a bit on your hand, you waited.

Then you felt it.

It was quick and faint but it was an all too familiar warmth.

“Shoto?” Your voice was barely a whisper. Once again, a flash of heat spread across your palms.

“Who?”

“Uh,” Standing up, Akaashi could see how you were trying to fix your thoughts. Massaging your temples, you could feel your balance wavering. Just as you were about to take a step forward, your knee gave way. Thankfully, Akaashi was quick to grab your waist. “I have to go to the comfort room.”

“I can acc-”

“No.” Gently pushing him away, you tried to reassure him. “I’m fine, Akaashi. Just feeling nausea that’s all.”

Before he could speak, your back was now turned and making a run for it.

“I saw it!” Todoroki stated. His left side sent out tiny sparks due to his growing anger. “She did this little thing we do with her quirk!”

“Maybe you were just seeing things, Todoroki.” Iida tried to calm his classmate.

Everyone was cramped up inside the infirmary during their break. It was now the third day and there were still no changes with your case. Recovery Girl had already stated that she contacted her friends to see if she could gather anything new only to be left empty. Not wanting to add to the disappointment, she gave permission to the whole class to drop by and visit.

“Iida has a point.” Kiri said. His face filled with worry for two of his friends. “As much as I want to believe that (n/n) is okay, I think that’s just her consciousness doing that little glow thing you mentioned.”

“I’ve seen it a few times. How she’s sleeping and her quirk gets activated all of a sudden.” Momo had to agree. You were one of her most cherished friends and when she heard of the news, she dropped everything and ran towards the infirmary. “I get that she’s special to you, Todoroki-kun, but that’s a normal occurrence with (y/n).”

“That was too specific.” He tried to rebut. “I’ve seen it more times than any of you could imagine. I grew up with her. Hell, we were supposed to get married. That small action proves that she’s trying to tell us something.”

“Todoroki. We get that you just want her back but I think it’s all on her if she wants to wake up. If her brain scans show that she’s active, maybe she’s choosing not to wake up.” Sero commented. The rest of the class nods save for Deku and Bakugo.

“(y/n) is like a sister to me. She was my only sense of family after I got this fucking scar on my face.” A small burst of flame formed on his shoulder. “If I say that she’s conscious and wants to communicate, then that’s what I will believe in.”

Excusing himself, he left the room only to be followed by Deku. The two boys stopped in the hallway. Deku wanted to speak but he knew a pissed Todoroki would lead to nowhere. Few seconds had passed, he noticed his friend’s breathing was now even.

“Todo-”

“You saw it too, right?”

“I did.” Deku admitted. “But, getting angry at the situation won’t help. For now, what we can do is try to look up alternative theories as to what’s happening.”

“I know.”

Deku didn’t want to tell him but in a way, he felt as if him and you were similar. Being able to see the previous holders of One for All, perhaps Todoroki had a point. Maybe you were awake and locked somewhere in your consciousness. It pained him that he couldn’t tell his theory. Later in the day, he would plan on visiting All Might to ask whether or not it was possible to test out a hypothesis or not.

Sure enough, Deku and Bakugo were now sitting in front of All Might. A look of surprise etched on his face at the theory presented to him. It wasn’t too far fetched but the risk of being caught might be too great for the three of them to proceed.

“We don’t know how long you will be able to hold out, Young Midoriya.” His bony fingers were intertwined as his lips touched his thumbs. “We also don’t know if the two of you will be safe if things turn out well.”

“But we’ve done it once.” Deku tried to sofly counter. “I’m not too sure myself but if this theory is possible, then maybe it’s worth a shot.”

“What is your say in this, Young Bakugo?”

“It’s shitty.” He shrugs. “But, if it means being able to save (n/n) then I guess it’s okay.”

“This needs preparation.” All Might nodded. “Both of you should first train mentally and even spiritually to ensure success. Keep this on the down low for now. Let’s set aside a month and I’ll see what I can do.”

The two boys stared at each other. A month was a little too long for their liking but if it meant a higher rate of success…

“We’ll do it!”
