Ngl, I should at some point try making more OCs myself, even if they're just fanmade variants of already existing Yo-kai or Fan-kai.

Regardless, I still also really like drawing other people's OCs or helping some people create their own. So here's Gloria!

This is Gloria, a Fan-kai originally made by @ashliez91 !!! She's a Frostina variant themed on both the Blood Moon and being Fire Attribute instead of Ice^^ (I'm not exactly sure why she's Merican, but I'm not complaining either).

Here's the original design made by Ashley. The only change I did was replace the snow pattern in her cloak with a fiery one^^ I also gave her a different gesture/position to look more unique from her base while trying to keep her shy personality.

Also the colors (aside from looking beautiful) made several people point out she looks like the bisexual flag hehe, Ashley herself even made it canon that she's bi 🤭

But that's not all!

I also gave her a medal! (Been a while since I shown one of these here hehe) I wasn't sure if I was gonna make it, but I thought it's be good for practising and I'm really glad I did! The bg is alright ig but what I'm especially proud about is her perspective ❤

And ig that's all I have to say! I'm not sure if I have any other things to post so I apologize if I don't post tomorrow, but I'm happy I was able to post these pending drawings here^^

Btw yes, she does have an evolution, though I still haven't drawn her yet.

given that a lot of american superstitions are very closely tied to christian beliefs, i wonder if part of the reason the ‘merican yokai are the way they are is because the devs didn’t want to include religious imagery that explicit

if that’s what really happened, it’d be a shame. ignoring how christianity has shaped american culture is doing the country a great disservice.

As someone who grew up with the English dub of Yo-Kai watch, and still holds it dearly. Looking into the Japanese names I realized giving them all pun names completely neuters concepts like Merican yokai who are kinda designed to foil classic yokai(exclusively based on self-explanatory concept) with being based on puns

Meet Mothmini and Umbrasmith !

There’s both of the Eerie tribe and their attribute is the Wind.

Their favorite food are donuts

They are of course based on the infamous Mothman and Umbrasmith also draws inspiration from Men in Black and Spider Noir.

If you think that you saw a Mothmini, then that means that something bad is about to happen.

Umbrasmith can erase your most recent memories so seeings of this Yokai are very rare

like, its late, im tired, and im wacthing Drafee and thinking about Yokai watch, whis has been my latest hyperbolic fixation.

speaking og which, i widh yokai watch wibble wobble was still a thing. i loved thst game ad a kid.

And lately, Usapyon has been the yokai ive been drawing a lot. apparently hes like..and otter? i know hes a, and yes this is real, but in yokai watch 3 they havw somthing called

“MERICAN YOKAI”

which is basicly american yokai…that are found in a town called BBQ, where everyone speaks very southern. The merican yokai are like, funny and both sterostipcally of what america seems like.

Theres legit a Yokai thats a Fucking Pellican thats wearing American cowboy gear and fucking shoots people to “americanize” them.

back to Usapyon, whos name is legit “USA-pyon”.

hes like an otter, but he wears a space suit that is like a rabbit. hes adorable and i love him. as well as Kyubi, i love him to. but not Whisper. i dont like him.

also, i really wish that yokai watch was more popular. i loved the anime of it. i have a few of the manga.

Uhhhh well the third game's plot is that the MC moves to America from japan, gets a new yokai watch, and has to befriend "Merican" Yokai that are loosely based on American folklore. But most are just like... this

I made some evolutions for yokai decided by reddit!

First up was suggested by u/King-of_turtles with eleven upvotes was USApyon. Now, I've done an alternative form for USApyon before, which leaned into his sith lord/Darth Vader inspiration. So this time, I took a different route:

Pod Racer engines, baby! I've loved the look of those things since playing the lego star wars video game when I was a little girl. And they make sick as hell arm cannons!

Upgraded with the latest space tech, NASApyon is going to the moon, and nothing in heaven, hell or any other realm is gonna stop him!

He's now an S rank, ice attribute of the Shady tribe. His new soultimate is: Bunny Barrage, where he launches a storm of lasers at his opponents

Next up, suggested by u/AsterMachina was Buhu!

Call it a basic take, but I turned the goose into a sad swan! Admittedly Buhu is a pretty basic yokai in concept, so I mostly just made the Evo, I just made her "Buhu but more"

Hence the name; Buhu-hu! I like to imagine that Buhu-hu is a yokai of silver linings. Her inspiritments cause misfortune to befall her victims, however at the end, it will be offset with small burst of good luck, before returning to normal.

Buhu-hu is a C rank of the Eerie tribe. She is a wind attribute, and has the soultimate; Fowl Fortune, which debuffs her enemies, making them less likely to act.

And finally, from u/JibakomaYTB was House Partay!

For this one, I pulled out a special item of mine that I'm sure you didn't expect to see again~ the tricksters treat! Giving him a real spooky makeover!

(Speaking of, I've been debating making the Halloween yokai that come from the trickster's treat its own "class," like classic or Merican yokai. I'm open to thoughts on that!)

Now, as large as a real house, Howls Partay can bring the party even all across town! Design wise he's directly inspired by the spooky mansion that hosts the Poltz mini game! (Which has an awesome spooky song~!)

Howls Party is an A rank of the mysterious tribe. He's a fire attribute, with the soultimate move; "bring down the house!" Where he body slams his opponents.

'Merican medal: Knomad Jiro!

You guys probably know this at this point but some 'Merican Yo-kai from 3 don't have a `Merican medal for some reason and just have a Dream medal, so I decided to make one for a Yo-kai who lacked it!

The reason I chose K Jiro is because long ago I made one for Tomnyan and K Koma so I decided to make one for the other Knomad. And if you're wondering why I gave them individual medals despite both counting as 1 Yo-kai in 3, aside from me not really liking that (it's just my opinion please don't stab me) they're also separate Yo-kai in WibWob/Puni.

Also I doubt anyone is even wondering this, but yes I made that medal border from scrap as I couldn't really find any HD ones (you can tell by looking at some old 'Merican medals I posted here hehe)

Next one is a U medal.
