Hello, apologies for the lack of uploads. I am currently on "vacation" (Not gonna elaborate, too personal) so expect a longer time between posts. Today's post is about:

Patroleye...?

Ok first of all for anybody who has forgotten, Patroleyes are NPC Yo-kai introduced in YKW2 that appear in Terror Time and act as pretty much sentient security cameraa for the Oni (or other bosses in Blasters)

And a very cool Bsky artist called Ace the ghoul made this very pretty gijinka of them and allowed me to draw her^^

This is the original drawing that Ace made btw, she's adorable 💖💖💖

And I really like her design, if she were in a game I can see her being some kind of fusion for Patroleye (not evolution since I think that fits Hypatroleye more)

And that's all I have to say! A bit short ik but not all posts I make should be long haha. Tbh I sometimes wonder how many people even fully read them, but even if they don't, I still hope they like the silly doodles I make^^

I doubt most even remember but at one point I posted a boss Fan-kai based on another Fan-kai called 4Reel (by JoJo/SquishyBlooper), and Memelord made her model a very cute idle animation. So I decided to finally give her a render!

It was fun to draw her, plus I'm proud of her since I was able to solve a thing that was bothering me about my previous renders, so I'm really happy about how she turned out :)

Idk what much else to say, if you look at the animation I based it on ig you can compare them haha.

I'm surprised I haven't drawn her more, this is the only other time I recall drawing her (around a year ago.)

Even if it's a bit old, I still think it looks cute <3

And that's kinda all I have to say. You can tell how much I love this little creature. Also now both of the alien girlies have renders :)

So you guys probably already know the Yo-kai SV Snaggerjag right? One of the very few Boss Yo-kai who consistently isn't evil and evey time you fight him, it's him being the victim (poor guy 💔). You may also know that SV's main gimmick is the ability to summon Catfish to aid him in his fight. Most people don't really care about these, but thanks to the Blasters ++ mod making them playable, I ended up getting attached to them^^

So I decided to make renders for Grumpus, Meditatum and Shutter!

One fish, two fish, blue fish!

So the main reason I made these was because they all have icons in-game, but as far as I know none of their renders are public sadly. So a friend sent this Meditatum medal icon from YKW3 in a chat once, and I decided to "manually upscale" it (as in make the image bigger, and do my best to trace the lineart and color it and shade it to the best of my abilities.)

Then I used their Blasters icons as reference to do the faces of Grumpus and Shutter and that was the result^^ Since they're all in the same pose, it was easy to make the others haha.

But that's NOT all! You guys probably know that SV Snaggerjag has a variant from the Infinite Inferno called Styx Mk. IV (Styx mark 6) and he too has his own Catfish children!

So I recolored the 3 others to make the renders for Scrap, Gemble and Zeybrow! Probably even more forgettable than the former 3, but that's not gonna stop me.

And that's all I have to say! Sorry if this post was a bit boring, since it'd about a technically traced drawing and 5 variations of that drawing, but I still like how these turned out! The main reason I did this is because I have a friend who loves Meditatum, so I made a render of him, and said to might as well use it as a base for the other fishes haha. I hope that this post has at least made more people aware of the existence of these Yo-kai^^

My friends and I were having a conversation, and I ended up somehow coming up with the idea of a merm Yo-kai based on a shark and they told me to please make it so...

Meet Shay! (Medal in the nametag by Yokai Benja)

Shay is a Slippery tribe Yo-kai of a similar species to Mermadonna, except they are based on a shark. Specifically the blacktip shark (I just chose it because I thought it looked cool haha)

As for their hair, I tried to give them a different hairstyle to distinct them from the other merms, so I gave them curly hair kinda based on the one Little Charrmer has^^

And as for their other features.

I made their arm/fins resemble those of a shark, and since they look sharp I thought it'd be cool if they used those to attack instead of their tail (though the tail could be like a finisher if they had something like Triple Attack hehe). I also made them more muscular, gave them sharp teeth and a spike collar to make them seem more "wild" as opposed to the other merms who look more "sophisticated".

As for their personality, I think it'd be funny if I made them look very scary and a bit unhinged, but once you get to know them they're actually very sweet (just like real life sharks hehe).

And that's all I have to say! It's a bit rare for me to make a Fankai that's neither not someone else's nor conceptualised by another person, but I like how they turned out^^ I might make them a medal at some point.

i really like how the colors on this one came out. like, seriously i intended this to be a minimal-effort shitpost and instead i’m thinking about making it a print

…….oh, you wanted context to the picture? uhh,,,

usually i have noko or mermaidyn set as my overworld companion, but lately i have it set as arachnia instead. and let me tell you, having a yokai that’s taller and more intimidating than you following you around makes you feel less like you’re out on a casual trip with a buddy and more like you have a bodyguard making sure you don’t get into trouble

i also like to imagine that the fact arachnia’s constantly, invisibly looming over my shoulder with a “touch her and die” face gives my player character an aura that’s Oddly Menacing For An Eleven-Year-Old

A bit ago, a friend called Kirasnuggets asked me if I could make renders for 2 of her Fan-kai, so here they are!

First is her sona: Kirashura!

I wasn't sure about which artstyle to use on the renders since Kira's artstyle isn't the same as YKW's (this is not a bad thing) so Kira said I could try mixing their OG designs with YKW's artstyle, so I did!

For reference, this is what her og design looks like^^

When drawing her I used Komashura as reference, but tried keeping all her important features such as her eyes, mouth and fur.

And for the 2nd Fan-kai: Aurora!

She's actually Kirashura's gf, but they're dating in secret so don't tell anybody 🤫

Aside from being 'Merican, what I found more interesting about her is that she's not a "base" Komainu, but she's actually based on Komane/Komiger! Which I think is really cool, especially since she's not an evolution^^ (also because Komane and Komiger are very underused despite having a really cool design smh)

I couldn't really find a better ref image, but here's her actual design in this medal that Kira made^^

And that's all I have to say! It was fun drawing these 2, especially Aurora since I really like her design^^ I'm not sure what my next drawing will be, I won't start with those medal requests as of yet, but their time isn't that far away.

Although this Yo-kai isn't in Yo-kai Craft, I decided to include her too as the last one since it also belongs to UnderScore :)

I redrew (and slightly redesigned) Sea Rabby!

I already made a post about her before, but basically she's a Spect-hare variant based on a Sea Bunny! UnderScore had the idea and I helped by drawing her^^

The main reason I wanted to redraw her was because her old render was just her in the same pose as Spect-hare, so I wanted to draw her in a more unique way. I also gave her rain boots since I saw this fanart in Bluesky by Ace the Ghoul^^

Her medal!

You can see Sea Rabby swimming under the ocean hunting for jellyfish (nope, she was not petting them) since sea bunnies apparently eat them. I made it a U medal since it has been a long time since I've ever draw one of those hehe.

And that's all I have to say! I was really happy to do this... uh... ig collab? Doesn't matter, it was fun drawing all these YKC Yo-kai (plus Sea Rabby^^).

Yo-kai Craft Yo-kai: Goku Beach Blizzaria.

Man, me drawing a variant of Goku Blizzaria, who would've thought hehe.

Now, this Yo-kai is slightly different from the other 4 though. Not only because I'm the one who asked to draw her as opposed to the others which were requested by UnderScore, but because this Yo-kai while being in YKC, originates from somewhere else.

This Yo-kai was made by a Japanese artist called Tatebanyan (たてばな) ! The YKC team kindly asked them if they could add her to the mod and they accepted, so I used to chance to politely ask them if they were alright with me drawing her and I think this post's existence already tells you the answer haha.

For Glizzaria herself I don't have much to say. I used both the og drawing and Beach Blizzaria (Beach-hime) as reference.

Ah for her brother, in YKC they made him smaller than he usually is, so I decided to keep that since I thought it makes him look more unique! And also kept the chibi arms.

Now, you've probably already noticed the medal in her nametag right? And a few days ago I also posted an old medal of Goku Blizzaria "for no reason" and might notice that the frame looks different.

That's because I decided to completely redesign it! I didn't hate the old one but I felt like it was way too outdated and wanted to do better. So here's the Goku medal (2.0 ig?).

For the frame itself, I used the Classic medal as reference while adding features that fit the Goku Yo-kai such as the diamond shapes and the eye. And the most notable feature is the chain inside the medal. It was a bit hard to know how to add them to the medal and I had to remake them a few times, but I ended up making them like this and I'm happy with it^^ I'm especially proud of how I made them bind the tag.

And for the art itself, I tried mimicking the art used in the used in the event that added them!

And that's all I have to say! This was probably my favorite one to draw (who could've guessed haha) but as I said I'm really happy for drawing the others as well :) This one was also probably the hardest to make since I had to create a medal frame for it, but it was more than worth it as I'm obviously using it for more medals hehe (I doubt anyone will, but if anybody would like to use it to make their own Goku medal feel free to ask ig).

Yo-kai Craft Yo-kai number 4: Gashaoni!

Altough the Yo-kai is original and not a variant of any existing one (made by Mvoob and Underscore^^) they're actually based on a thing from the games!

The Oni Crank-a-kai! (couldn't find an HD image sadly)

Yes, Gashaoni is a sentient Oni Crank (in YKC they apparently live in the Nether) although I don't think they have a lore reason of how they became sentient.

But either way, this Yo-kai may have been trickier to draw a non-cubic form of, but thankfully they're already based on a cubic shaped object haha.

As for their medal.

I decided to draw them eating Oni Orbs (which are the main way of using the Crank) and giving you a capsule in return! Also drew the Demonic Coin because why not^^

For the background, I just drew the one that the Oni Crank has by default.

And that's all I have to say! It was really fun to draw them and especially their medal :)

It's a shame the next post will be the final one... right?

An old medal but never showed it here so... Custom medal: Goku Blizzaria!

This is a medal I drew like more than half a year ago, specifically for a mod whose team I'm part of: YKW3 Extremal Calamity.

Also credits to Math_KK for drawing the sketch and Kirasnuggets for the background.

As for the ominous medal frame? I made that over a year ago. It's a medal frame specifically for Goku Yo-kai (except Rinne, I gave him a special one) since they don't have official medals (at least they have Keystones ig). I made it over a year ago and tbh, doesn't look that bad for being my 2nd original medal frame haha.

Hmmm? Why am I showing this medal? Just because I really like Goku Yo-kai and Goku Blizzaria (you can totally not tell from my pfp hehe) and definitely no other reason... right?

Yo-kai Craft Yo-kai number 3: Usalien!

Aight now that we covered those two nyan-kai, here's Failian's 'Merican counterpart!

And he's the only one of these that has a bio/Medallium entry:

"Failian got a taste of the 'merican life, lying made him big enough to invest in Hinozall’s company."

Failian becoming a successful businessman in BBQ with how good he is at lying... Checks out.

I have to say, I find his design very funny. It's odd seeing a version of Failian without his U.F.O. haha. Aside from the new clothes and his phone, his skin* (iirc Failian had a zipper on his back implying it was a costume too, which ig fits a Yo-kai whose theme is lying haha) is also green instead of blue^^

And of course, here's his 'Merican medal! Depicting an irritated Usalien due to his (probably business related) phone call. And the bg is filled with capitalism lmao business related stuff.

Gotta say, this is probably the 1st 'Merican medal bg where I didn't get lazy 💔

And that's all I have to say! Very nice design and a good excuse to practice 'Merican medals^^ (who knows, maybe I'll redo some of my old ones in the future >:])

Yo-kai Craft Yo-kai number 2: Shining Thornyan!

This is the model it uses in Yo-kai Craft! I tried my best to keep all of its unique features when "translating" it.

If you played/know about Yo-kai Watch World, this fellow might look familiar to you. That's because this is a fusion between Jibanyan and Shining Hurching (Hikari Chikuchiku Uni)!

(Who in Yo-kai Craft is mistakenly referred as Shining Coughkoff)

As for the medal, I didn't have much to go for. But then I thought about how similar they look to a star so I depicted them as a shooting star!

And yes, I tried drawing it in the 2021 anime medal artstyle hehe.

And that's all I have to say! Sorry if I didn't say much, I just don't know what else to say about "Thornyan but instead of CoughKoff they're Shining Hurchin". But even so that's not necessarily a bad thing, I still enjoyed drawing them :)
