Yo-kai Craft Yo-kai number 4: Gashaoni!

Altough the Yo-kai is original and not a variant of any existing one (made by Mvoob and Underscore^^) they're actually based on a thing from the games!

The Oni Crank-a-kai! (couldn't find an HD image sadly)

Yes, Gashaoni is a sentient Oni Crank (in YKC they apparently live in the Nether) although I don't think they have a lore reason of how they became sentient.

But either way, this Yo-kai may have been trickier to draw a non-cubic form of, but thankfully they're already based on a cubic shaped object haha.

As for their medal.

I decided to draw them eating Oni Orbs (which are the main way of using the Crank) and giving you a capsule in return! Also drew the Demonic Coin because why not^^

For the background, I just drew the one that the Oni Crank has by default.

And that's all I have to say! It was really fun to draw them and especially their medal :)

It's a shame the next post will be the final one... right?

An old medal but never showed it here so... Custom medal: Goku Blizzaria!

This is a medal I drew like more than half a year ago, specifically for a mod whose team I'm part of: YKW3 Extremal Calamity.

Also credits to Math_KK for drawing the sketch and Kirasnuggets for the background.

As for the ominous medal frame? I made that over a year ago. It's a medal frame specifically for Goku Yo-kai (except Rinne, I gave him a special one) since they don't have official medals (at least they have Keystones ig). I made it over a year ago and tbh, doesn't look that bad for being my 2nd original medal frame haha.

Hmmm? Why am I showing this medal? Just because I really like Goku Yo-kai and Goku Blizzaria (you can totally not tell from my pfp hehe) and definitely no other reason... right?

Yo-kai Craft Yo-kai number 3: Usalien!

Aight now that we covered those two nyan-kai, here's Failian's 'Merican counterpart!

And he's the only one of these that has a bio/Medallium entry:

"Failian got a taste of the 'merican life, lying made him big enough to invest in Hinozall’s company."

Failian becoming a successful businessman in BBQ with how good he is at lying... Checks out.

I have to say, I find his design very funny. It's odd seeing a version of Failian without his U.F.O. haha. Aside from the new clothes and his phone, his skin* (iirc Failian had a zipper on his back implying it was a costume too, which ig fits a Yo-kai whose theme is lying haha) is also green instead of blue^^

And of course, here's his 'Merican medal! Depicting an irritated Usalien due to his (probably business related) phone call. And the bg is filled with capitalism lmao business related stuff.

Gotta say, this is probably the 1st 'Merican medal bg where I didn't get lazy 💔

And that's all I have to say! Very nice design and a good excuse to practice 'Merican medals^^ (who knows, maybe I'll redo some of my old ones in the future >:])

Yo-kai Craft Yo-kai number 2: Shining Thornyan!

This is the model it uses in Yo-kai Craft! I tried my best to keep all of its unique features when "translating" it.

If you played/know about Yo-kai Watch World, this fellow might look familiar to you. That's because this is a fusion between Jibanyan and Shining Hurching (Hikari Chikuchiku Uni)!

(Who in Yo-kai Craft is mistakenly referred as Shining Coughkoff)

As for the medal, I didn't have much to go for. But then I thought about how similar they look to a star so I depicted them as a shooting star!

And yes, I tried drawing it in the 2021 anime medal artstyle hehe.

And that's all I have to say! Sorry if I didn't say much, I just don't know what else to say about "Thornyan but instead of CoughKoff they're Shining Hurchin". But even so that's not necessarily a bad thing, I still enjoyed drawing them :)

A while ago, UnderScore ,who is part of the Yo-kai Craft team, asked me if I could draw some YKC characters that they sent me. So here's the first one: Amethnyan!

Amethnyan as you can see is a fanmade 6th Gemnyan based on an Amethyst! (Credits to Yokai Benja as always for the medal used in the nametag)

So as you can see, drawing them wasn't an easy task. Doing the lineart was obviously easy, but you're aware I'm talking about the shading and the crystal texture. I won't bore you with the specifics, I'll just say that I used Dianyan as reference for it, used 4 different shades of purple and used a gradient to make them look more crystal-like.

As for the pose? Well in Yo-kai World they gave the Gemnyans new renders where they're doing poses to match a 5 pointed star, so I tried to make Amethnyan fit in and make it a 6 pointed one^^

If you're wondering why it looks familiar, that's because that's the pose they all do on their medals! Which reminds me!

I of course had to make them a medal too that matches the others :)

And that's all for now! I enjoyed drawing this character despite me not liking Nyan-Fan-kai that much since there are already too many Nyan-kai, but a 6th Gemnyan wasn't so bad. Plus, it allowed me to practice drawing that crystal texture for both render and medal, which will be very useful for when I draw other crystal-like Yo-kai :]

New Fan-kai: Shylvia! (Thanks again to Yokai Benja for the anime styled Classic medal^^)

The story behind the creation of this Yo-kai is a bit funny. @ashliez91 found this image in a vector website and due to its similarities with Blizzaria, she asked me if I could turn her into a Yo-kai!

As for her name? Well since the other Hime-kai have names that tend to combine real names with something related with that Yo-kai (like Damona combining "Damon" and "Ramona") I tried to do something similar! So I modified the name "Silvia" so that it looks similar to the word "Shaved" (As in shaved ice), and while unintentional at first, it also has the word "Shy" which I think fits the Yo-kai herself^^

For her design I tried to make her resemble Blizzaria while also trying to maintain the features of the original illustration (lack of hairclip/ribbon, no sandals, slightly different hair). Her iris being white is a not to the og drawing lacking pupils while also done because I thought it'd fit the "snowy ghost" theme.

As for her backstory, Ashley and I came up with something that kept the concept of her looking like a "fake" Blizzaria, while also trying to tie her with the Yuki-onna (the Youkai that Frostina is based on) so here it is:

Shylvia was an old knock off toy at the local Christmas flea market, which is now buried and abandoned inside an avalanche. now she's turned into one of the local Yo-kai after managing to come to life and escape.

Lastly and certainly not least: Her medal^^

It has been a while since I last shown one of these hehe. Her tribe being Mysterious is due to not only fitting with her theme, but also since she's a Yo-kai born from an object (similar to Wazzat or Mirapo). And since she's also based on the Yuki-onna, I used it as an excuse to make her Classic >:)

And that's all I have to say! Again, thank all of you for all the recent support, it may not look like it from your point of view but it really makes me happy and is one of the main reasons I keep making these silly doodles <3

And off-topic but about the medal requests: I'll start doing them once I finish some pending drawings I have to do first. Once that time comes, I'll let you know :)

Happy Pride Month!!!!

Yes I am aware it's late, but unfortunately I couldn't finish it in time because I got ill 💔

For this I drew a bunch of Reborn Yo-kai who transitioned + Rinna who I already showed before :)

Goku Blizzaria isn't a Reborn Yo-kai, but since both Goku and Reborn Yo-kai are related to Rinna I used it as an excuse to draw her kissing Rinna and her little Snowman brother to support her 🤭

Since I feel better now, next drawing will hopefully take less time^^
