Omnimancy: Chaos Magic and my practice
An analysis
I was listening to a book called chaos magic. The book touched on various types of magic in the form of omnimancy. Omnimancy is the ability and practice of using different types of magic and switching between them in an instant while fully immersing oneself in them. This got me thinking about my own practice. The following is a list of magic types I use based around the frequency in which I use them.
- Bibliomancy: Book and information based magic, writing magic. This is the practice of divination and magic by books, automatic writing, literary conjuration, reading, and research on the internet. Basically all of literary magic can be encompassed here.
- Cybermancy: While I don’t perform technomancy as it is described by many other people, I find that Cybermancy is a good way to define my practice of digital spellcraft. This includes writing spells in pseudocode, creating digital charm bags, casting spells by playing video games and pretty much anything to do with internet and digital media.
- Audiomancy: Magic cast by using audio as a conduit for channeling the power, probably the most useful for when you don’t want to be heard casting a spell. Music playlists, audio-bibliomancy, soundscapes for meditation, listening to the radio, listening to tv shows instead of watching them, creating beat mixes, and voice recording and playback. These are examples of how to use Audiomancy. In essence, what you listen to ends up being what energies you channel. A very alchemical process.
- Videomancy: Tv shows, movies, cartoons, YouTube videos, video journaling, social media reels, Live streaming, and video calls. These are all examples of using Videomancy. The videomancer can use these as conduits by feeding the screen emotional energy and then casting a spell either verbally or non-verbally.
These forms of magic can be used individually or simultaneously. Overarching all of these in my personal practice is the use of technology to maximize my versatility. For this reason, my toolkit contains a bunch of different tech that can be used for various types of magic.
Tools I carry around:
- Main Smartphone with video game emulators, word processing software and kindle app.
- Headphones
- USB drive with video folders
- Secondary smartphone for tv shows and digital notes
- Kindle e-reader
- iPad mini w/ Apple Pencil
- Backbone controller for iPhone
- Chargers (x2)
- Power cords
- MP3 player with fm radio and 64 gb of music

Witchcraft and creative applications
Let us be honest for a moment. Part of the reason that a lot of us came to the Craft in any regard is due to the desire to either protect ourselves, others, or to otherwise make our childhood dreams a reality. Now, I recently read a book about digital chaos magic that helped me realize that my love of combat magic wasn't entirely misplaced. In fact, it made me realize that there was a lot of childhood dreams when it came to magic that I could very much accomplish.
One of the things that I pride myself on is my abilities in divination. If you look at divination outside of the fortune telling aspect, almost all diviners and seers are capable of applying their skills to information brokering or espionage. There was always a dream I had to become a psychic detective and while I found that my abilities lent themselves to that pursuit, I came across several psychic detectives who told me that it is not an easy path as you can't relay information without having a concrete source to prevent yourself from being considered a suspect.
Other creative applications of witchcraft include: inventing magical tools
channeling powers from tv shows
healing physical and mental wounds via alternative healing methods
summoning spirits to aid you from video games or books
channeling music playlists to create an alchemical spell
In short, if you have ever had a dream to use magic in a way that challenges the norm, I highly recommend you go for it, so long as you are safe about it. You are the only one who can say for certain how your practice will evolve. What it looks like is between you and the spirits you work with.

As summer begins, I just wanna say this: Witchcraft is about taking something you personally vibe with and making it work for you. This was inspired by reading about pop culture witchcraft. Respect all paths please. No one should invalidate another person’s craft. As the saying goes, “we’re all mad here.”

Geekomancy and Techno witchcraft
If you haven’t heard me raving about the book series by Michael R Underwood, you will now. Geekomancy is about a girl who discovers she can use pop culture props and media to work magic. While I was at work yesterday, I had an idea. Genre emulation, the ability to watch a tv show or movie and borrow powers of the characters for a limited amount of time, is very similar to videomancy in Unknown armies. Now in the series, Geekomancy has the downside of being potentially overrun by digital versions of comics, trading card games and such, most would see this as a good thing, but nostalgia is the battery of magic type. What would happen to using trading cards as one off spells if there is no physical card to destroy? My response to this is that Geekomancy will evolve to allow one to take a picture of the card and delete it as a virtual action of destroying the card. Then your phone becomes the conduit for your magic and aside from the need for physical props at times, your entire bag of tricks just got several pounds lighter and you can blend in better when you’re hunting down some nasty creature.
The comparison between unknown armies and geekomancy is that videomancy requires that you watch the show religiously. Geekomancy is just giving you a charge or mojo (to use unknown armies terminology). The downside is that there’s a limit to the time you can hold that charge. I just thought the comparison was cool.
These were just my thoughts.

Pop culture witchcraft: techno style
While I’m sure I’ve touched on this topic in the past, I wanted to say how this practice has worked for me and given me a feeling of confidence. First of all, I don’t know how many of you believe in otherkin, however, I am a leanan sidhe. Essentially it’s a fairy muse. With that in mind, I rarely, if ever, tell people about that for the sole purpose of the lack of understanding people have regarding it. I want you all to know that I am still very much human and live a human life, being otherkin doesn’t make me any better than anyone else. It just makes me different. This is important to the topic of pop culture magic and techno magic as I want to share with you my thoughts and experiences about how I work.
Music as a shield:
I am highly telepathic and empathic and it is downright overwhelming. Thus, I use music to shield myself by dampening my ability to hear the outside world. This is mostly due to my psychic abilities being highly linked to my physical sense of hearing.
Video as power source:
Videos and tv shows and movies are passion projects of a lot of people. Part of my ability is to draw creativity into myself and channel magic through what I’m watching or listening to. This includes borrowing powers of characters.
Bibliomancy:
Audiobooks and e-books are useful for drawing inspiration and powers out of the story and into myself. Within limits, it also allows me to communicate with the characters of the stories as if they are spirits. Can also be used through fanfiction. Also works with comics
Trading cards as talismans:
When I use a trading card to invoke the spell it describes, I focus on the artwork and how much it makes me feel. The passion is the key.
Video games as spell casting:
When I play video games (especially the ones stored on my phone), I can game my way to an outcome so long as I stay focused. In addition, I can channel certain powers and abilities to give me a boost if I need it.
Creative writing:
My craft will always involve creative writing and as such, creative writing is how I express myself fully. Even by writing on this blog, I am putting all I have into this. Some witches would call it a form of manifestation, but I just call it conjuring. Character sketches become glamours, stories become spells and poems become prophecies.
Share your thoughts, I’d love to hear about your experiences with pop culture magic.

A Wordcraft vision
There are a lot of times when I use my abilities as a writer to help my abilities as a seer. This is one of those times. I created a concept known as the Book of Words. Much like a Wiccan Book of Shadows, the Book of Words is the Word Witch equivalent of a magical diary. The added bonus of the Book of Words is that it also serves as a writer’s altar. This type of magic has always been at the heart of my craft no matter how I adapt and change. So, below is how I used my Book of Words to tap into my abilities as a seer and channel a focused message from what I was sensing.
This is also a way that one can use their diary or journal or even blog. That is why I’m going to also post this on the bewitching blogger page.

Ok so I have a few things to say about this post.
1. Great message. Absolutely amazing that you stick to your beliefs regardless of what other people say.
2. As a techno witch, I have literally been told by people that tech isn’t magical and that techno magic isn’t witchcraft at all. Have also been told that I need to “touch grass and get in touch with the divine through natural things”. Let me be the first to say that I am not, nor will I ever be an outdoor person. I am also terrified of certain animals and creatures that exist in nature. So again, good job on sticking to your beliefs.
3. Witchcraft is a craft thus the name. Craft is artistic, so be your own artist and burn with fury at those who try to knock you down cause you don’t come from the same school of thought as them.
4. Please make more inspiring posts like this.
Since one or two folks have expressed “disappointment” in me because of my “shadow work isn’t a requirement for practicing magic” post, I’m doubling down and reminding everyone that as far as I’m concerned nothing is a requirement for practicing magic except actually practicing magic. Nothing is a requirement for being a witch except practicing magic and choosing to call yourself a witch.
I have a theory that some people find themselves unable to progress in their practices until they master a certain skill because that skill was a requirement FOR THEM, for their particular practice, laid out for them by their specific spirits, to accommodate their specific needs. And then sometimes they assume that their experience is universal. Did you have to 100% master protect spells, banishments, and divination before you could get spirit contact to work for you consistently? Then maybe those were the requirements for your particular path to get to spirit work. That wasn’t my experience. I started with spirit work, no pre-requisites to speak of. We had different paths to get to same goal, and that’s fine. Some people are born with amazing singing voices, some people have to take years of lessons to be able to carry tune. We’re all doing our own thing, and it’s going to look different for everyone - even two people in the same lineage with the same teacher are going to have variations.
So let’s stop pretending that there are universal milestones that everyone and their mother has to acomplish. You can do what you believe is necessary for you, and I will continue to never do shadow work.

Witch tips for the Neurodivergent witches
I don’t know if any of you know this, but I am on the spectrum and as such have a hard time remembering things that most people do automatically (specifically in self care). With that in mind, I was just brushing my teeth a few minutes ago when it came to me. Why not use witchcraft in the daily routine of self care. As a techno witch, most of my self care tools are electronic. So, here is the breakdown.
Brushing teeth
- your electronic toothbrush is a wand that can not only heal your mouth, but also allow you to amplify your verbal abilities in magic and communication. Bonus points for mint toothpaste.
- use the time you brush your teeth to meditate and relax your mind a bit. This is quite useful for those of us who are empaths or telepaths.
Shaving
- for those of you who are biologically male and shave your face, consider this a form of glamour. You’re cutting away the excess problems and focusing your mind on what is important. You’re also making yourself more attractive to those who you want to gain favor with.
- for those who are biologically female or shave your legs, the above applies with the added effect of enhancing physical speed and strength. By shaving your legs you’re cutting out weaknesses that you perceive (men can do this too with the face shaving) and you’re allowing yourself to be seen as your best self.
Showering
- consider the shower itself as a cleansing bath. Possibly using a shower speaker to create a sound bath and revitalize your aura. Create playlists that benefit what you want to achieve.
Non tech self care witchcraft
- Deoderant: protection of your body and your aura. Also useful for glamours.
- Makeup: The following list is a collection of uses.
- Lipstick: color magic, glamours, enchanted speech.
- Flavored lip balm: depending on the flavor, everything from truth to persuasion.
- Foundation: Mental stability and resolve
- Concealer: Invisibility and protection
- Blush: Bring out attractive qualities
- Eye shadow: color magic and psychic enhancement
- Mascara: Energy revitalization since it makes your eyelashes look fuller.
- Brush: untangling knots and problems as well as straightening your tangled thoughts out.
This is a small look into neurodiversity and witchcraft.

Update on some techno witchery
So I recently got an app on my laptop that allows me to see the entire solar system and specific stars up close as well as constellations. I found that by enlarging the image I could tap into the power of the heavens and use that as a power source for spells. The app is called Night Sky and it has got me interested in using it on my other devices. In addition to that, I have reopened myself to gaming magic and am using video games to play my way to spells like speed and accuracy and in some cases psychic powers. This just gives me a boost when I need it. Additionally, I have taken to doing videomancy daily and using videomancy as a form of divination. There are some rather interesting ways of using divination as a magical tool for spell casting. Definitely worth seeing how people make apps for divination going forward. I have also taken to using color changing candles that have a remote. This combined with my galaxy projector and my iPad mini and Apple Pencil is absolutely wonderful. There was so much energy in the circle I felt like I could do anything. This was my foray into ritual magic as a cyber witch.

Projector magic for the cyber witch
In my previous post, I mentioned a galaxy projector. Well I also purchased a projector for my phone or tablet that will be quite useful in my practice. Since I can’t handle blue light from my tv, this will work to allow me to project onto the ceiling. This might also help with the desire I have to do sleep time astral projection and spell work. My path is rather trance oriented due to my abilities as an oracle. So I will keep you all posted with my findings about this.

Celestial magic for the cyber witch
Celestial magic is the magic of the stars. Using imagery of the stars to borrow powers and channel the powers of the stories and myths that circulate through the heavens. Cyber witches have an advantage as we’re able to use technological representations as the real thing. My twin sister used to have a “moon in my room” it was a moon that was mounted on the wall and the remote changed the phase of the moon. With the use of a moon tracking app, you can match the moon phase and channel moon based magic without being outdoors. Alternatively, I just bought a galaxy projector that projects a galaxy onto the ceiling. I fully intend on using this to tap into celestial magic and even astrology through the spiraling of the galaxy to induce visions. Let me know what you think.

hi! im the anon from windvexer, the one that was looking for ideas on how to attract buyers to my digital shop for my pet browser game. windvexer gave me some great ideas, but i also wanted to ask you to see if you maybe had some additional thoughts on it :) no worries if you dont though! thank you for your timee
So first I recommend a pseudocode spell. Something similar to Python. Then I recommend doing a bit of techno witchery. We are talking LED battery operated candles surrounding your computer as you work. If you’re interested in working with the gods, Apollo is always a good one when it comes to creative endeavors. A charm bag might also be a good option. Aside from all that, you can also play the game and use the game to grow your fan base via Ludomancy (game magic). Basically, play the game and turn playing the game into part of your ritual. Additionally, i would be glad to help you on this if you want to attack this on more than one side. I have a few ideas I’ve not touched on here since they are extremely personal to my craft.

Email Altars
Email is quite useful in cyber witchcraft. Some of the ways that it can be used include the following:
- Email Grimoire: A specific email address with folders for whatever spells and information you write.
- Email Altar: Communing with the spirits of the cyber realm and casting spells through writing an email and sending it to the altar.
- Email Charms: Think of paper charms or petition spells, sending the email to a specific folder on the altar or to the grimoire can cast the spell.
- Email Rituals: imagine using email as the focus of your practice and crafting rituals that reside within the email address.
- Email Poppet magic: using the email address of another person in the text of your email spell, you can essentially create an email based poppet that will never miss it’s mark if you have a bit of hexing to do.
The best part is that you can use your own email that you use personally as your “avatar”. It becomes you in the sense of your magical fingerprint. You can also use images, audio, entire books, video, and links to get creative and cast spells through email.

Techno witch tool: Projector and ritual work
So, I just did a search on Amazon for a phone projector and what I came up with after doing this search was that projectors have uses in techno witchcraft. Specifically, they have the potential to be useful for divination and even work as a portal of sorts.
To use a projector for divination, simply turn it on and link it to your phone and pull up whatever video streaming app you use or digital tarot deck you use. With that, you can use it as a way to perform videomancy on a big screen or show a larger audience your spell in the working.
To use a projector for portals, simply turn it on and put on a video that induces trance. There are some great ones that are mandala effects and are useful for entering trance states. It also helps if you have a Bluetooth speaker handy and maybe some battery powered candles. Sitting cross legged in the center of the circle of candles and bluetooth speakers and facing the screen projected, use your phone or a separate device to type out where you want to go in an email and send it to the spirits (an email altar is required). Then, you just need to zone out.

Witch Tip
When I was making a healing potion this morning (a digital one), I heard my familiar say to me, "Sometimes the most powerful spells and potions come from the smallest amount of ingredients. Do not overcomplicate your spells by adding things that you don't feel you need. Let the words do the rest."

Smartwatches: the modern charm bracelet for witches
While I am pretty sure that I have mentioned my use of this before, I feel it bears repeating. In my personal craft, I have developed a way to write spells in a form of pseudocode and save them to google keep. Once there, I sync them to my Apple Watch and can activate them at will by saying the trigger phrase. This is basically subliminal programming where the spell is linked in my mind to the trigger phrase and can be cast quickly without me saying the whole spell. The catch is that I need to be wearing my watch for this to work. That being said it really is useful for spells I use daily or need to invoke quickly. I have come to see it as a form of charm bracelet and thus label each spell as a charm. When I work on this particular method, I often feel as if I’m actually crafting a physical thing. Something about this method makes it feel like it has a form of mass. Maybe that is just me. Regardless, that is what I wanted to share with you all today.

A new facet of Apollo
Apollo has always been the Greco-Roman god of the arts, healing, prophecy, the sun (at least in modern times), music, poetry, and so many others. After watching American Gods and seeing the goddess Media, I came to the conclusion that Apollo had a new face. His new title was as the god of media, and technology. Let’s be honest, there is a lot of creativity when it comes to technology and media. The inspiration has to come from somewhere. I personally believe that Apollo has adapted himself to modern times and resides within all aspects of creative thought and expression. It’s easy to reimagine Apollo as a god of technology, coding, media, and artistic expression.
These are just my thoughts.
