Looking back! Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde welcomed two children together before splitting in November 2020.

The former couple started dating in 2011 and got engaged two years later. Their son, Otis, and their daughter, Daisy, arrived in 2014 and 2016, respectively.

For the actor, he sees “staying around” was the key to being a great parent to his little ones. “Being present is a good quality,” the Saturday Night Live alum told Us Weekly in April 2018. “At least I’ll know how I screwed them up!”

He went on to joke about the siblings’ dynamic, telling Us, “All Daisy wants to do is play, but playing to her is putting his toys in her mouth. So he gets really mad about that, understandably. When I explained to him that that’s Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson is Michael’s younger sister, it’s like of like, ‘Oh, she might be useful!’ He recognizes that, which is good.”

The following year, Wilde exclusively told Us about taking working motherhood “day by day, step by step” so as not to become overwhelmed.

“I think it’s just biting off as much as you can chew, you know, slowly and incrementally,” the filmmaker explained in January 2019. “And I think [it’s] knowing what you’re getting yourself into.”

The New York native added that with so much going on at home and on set, she and the Ted Lasso star had to “prioritize date night.” Wilde gushed at the time: “We go out and have a lot of fun. We were both really social people when we met, and we didn’t want to give that up when we became parents, so we’re really consistent about our time with them, but we also prioritize a couple of date nights a week. We go to the theater. I love to eat food, so we go to a lot of restaurants, see shows, music — it’s New York! It’s a good thing about living here, live entertainment.”

By November of the following year, Us confirmed that Otis and Daisy’s parents had split, calling off their engagement. The exes “butted heads on many occasions,” a source exclusively told Us in January 2021. “There were arguments and fights over career decisions and where to live.”

The actress moved on with former One Direction member Harry Styles, making their relationship public at his manager’s wedding in January 2021. This “devastated” Sudeikis, the insider said.

Following the pair’s split, Wilde and Sudeikis continued to coparent Otis and Daisy. However, things came to a head in April 2022 when the Don’t Worry Darling director was served custody papers while onstage at CinemaCon.

“First, Olivia said that if I did not reside full-time in Los Angeles, she would allow me to spend time with Otis and Daisy on weekends and during vacation periods — thus depriving me of my right to parent the children during important periods of their lives,” Sudeikis claimed in the court docs of his reasoning for filing the motion, which were published by the Daily Mail the following August. “Second, Olivia said that she intended to relocate with the children to London following the close of school in 2023.”

Wilde, for her part, filed her own custody petition in August 2022, slamming Sudeikis’ “outrageous” legal tactics. She alleged in her paperwork: “Jason’s actions were clearly intended to threaten me and catch me off guard. He could have served me discreetly, but instead, he chose to serve me in the most aggressive manner possible. … Since Jason has made it clear that we will not be able to work this out for our children’s sake outside of the court system, I filed a petition for custody in Los Angeles.”

I found myself getting lost in what was happening and then finding myself wanting to see specific variations based on what we had already seen. This the kind of engagement that you want as a writer, to get folks involved in the story and become invested in the property.     I still love Jason's work on the intro, exit of the story and the way he can bring TV Head to life and show those snippets on his screen is amazing to me. That his linework is so strong and his creativity and imagination so impeccably brought to life blows me away every time.     The main story here is fantastic and the way it moves through the story & plot development as we see through the sequence of events unfolding as well as how the reader learns information is beautifully done. The character development is great and since we're only focusing on Wheeler it makes all the difference in the world in how developed he does become. While we can never know the true motivation for his undying devotion to Myron I am still impressed with him as a man and character. I think what Brockton is able to do here is one his best stories to date and with each new book that comes out we see him grow stronger as a writer. Also I will admit that while we didn't get the chance to really see Ernestina and Otis at all their appearance does make me want to revisit this franchise and get to see stories that focus on them as well.     Carlos does some extremely good work on the interiors here. I am super impressed with the quality and strength of the linework that we see and how it works with the varying weights to create the attention to detail. From the way we see eyes, shapes of heads and the various scenarios which were brought to life have now made me a huge fan of his work. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a very strong eye for storytelling. The way that backgrounds are utilised and how the work within the composition of the panels to bring us this depth perception, scale and overall sense of size and scope to the story is wonderful to see. The colour work here is also wonderfully rendered. I like seeing the various hues and tones within the colours to create the shading, highlights and shadow work. The various tones in the different segments and how they are equally as hued within their tones to begin with is even more impressive. ​     Whether you are a Full Moon fanatic or just a fan of some damn good storytelling then you really need to make sure that this is something your store has or will order for you. There is nothing quite like this out there and it's high time a new Crypt Keeper came along to entertain the sorry masses.

Things are definitely heating up in the WWE. Three very solid shows this week as we rev up to the Royal Rumble. Returning stars are definitely making their mark as we see The Big Show for the first time in two years, showing up on Monday Night RAW to help out Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe against Seth Rollins and the Authors of Pain. Robert Roode is back from his 30-day Wellness Policy suspension, taking out Roman Reigns with help from King Corbin and Dolph Ziggler. You can see all the factions forming which should make a very interesting Royal Rumble later this month in Houston.

NXT continues to build on its very strong end to 2019 and start to 2020. With NXT TakeOver: Portland up next, we get a pair of matches confirmed as Finn Balor will tangle with Johnny Gargano while NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley will take on the winner of January 15th’s battle royale. It also looks like Daddy’s coming back for Goldie as Tommaso Ciampa is still looking for NXT Champion Adam Cole.

Kudos to the biggest feud on Friday nights for continuing to make their storyline move forward while also connecting the dots for the new audience on FOX that may not know of their past. By uniquely reminding us about Bryan’s past with joining Bray Wyatt’s family six years ago and The Fiend’s attempt at a Bryan makeover, the story is in the details. Plus, this week, a few killer lines. Bray’s “We love you – not you Daniel – we love the Fireflies.” Then, later, as Ramblin’ Rabbit is about to give Bryan the secret to beating The Fiend, Wyatt covers his mouth and declares “snitches get stitches.” Love it! Brock’s #1 – What a way to start the year for the WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar. Not only does he declare for the Royal Rumble, but Paul Heyman says he’ll start the match at #1. That just screams for numerous WWE superstars to meet an early exit by way of the Beast come Houston. What also screams out if for a surprise entry to take the Beast out somewhere in the match to set up a huge match at WrestleMania!

It’s not over – When Aleister Black beat Buddy Murphy last week, we thought maybe it was over and done between the two. Yet, after Black squashed Shelton Benjamin in less than 3 minutes, Buddy Murphy returned to reignite the feud. And we are damn happy he did! Now, we can look forward to more brutal physicality between these two in what are becoming must see matches in 2020.

What’s in the cage – Are we finally going to see what’s in the cage? Mojo Rawley got an eyeful, something he’ll never forget! I for one am looking forward to Erick Rowan revealing it once and for all!

The Big Show – Welcome back after nearly two years of inactivity on the main roster, Big Show. It’s always good to see him and yes, he was a surprise we all didn’t see coming.

What was just ok:

Lana and Live, the follow-up – After an epic wedding one week ago, the “honeymoon” wasn’t all that great. So, we get a lot of talking between Lana, Rusev and Lashley to set up a match this coming Monday on RAW, but left out was Liv. Not until the next segment’s backstage segment did we even see or mention Liv Morgan, teasing that she might be in Rusev’s corner next week. That one could’ve been done better. Needed another face-to-face with Lana there, IMHO.

What we didn’t like:

Really, Rey? – Didn’t we already do the Rey Mysterio, Jr. loses the mask gimmick back in WCW thanks to the NWO? And of course, again in 2009 in the WWE by Chris Jericho? I’m glad he got the mask back the same night, but home it doesn’t head into a mask vs. title match in the future.

Fist Fight Match – After The Big Show’s return in the main event eventually led to a disqualification for Seth Rollins and the AOP, we get a fist fight rematch between the six this week. Huh? OK, we get that Show has a big punch, nailing Rollins down for the count. But now we get all six battling in fist fight rules? Is it first one down by a punch? Will Show, the easy favorite in this one, stay true or turn on Owens and Joe?

What we loved:

NXT is #1 – Pound for pound, and it’s not even close, NXT delivers the most in-ring action each and every week. For that, we are thankful. With two very good Dusty Rhodes tournament matches this week along with the opening spotlight on the women’s division and ending with Keith Lee becoming the #1 contender to the North American Title, it’s two hours of pro wrestling at its finest in 2020. Well done.

Keith Lee – With a tag-team pinfall victory over Roderick Strong already in his back pocket, we were glad to see Lee gain a one-on-one shot at Strong’s title coming up in two weeks. Lee’s been on fire the past three months and we’re hoping a title victory is coming soon!

Finn vs. Johnny – So, if Johnny Gargano, or Johnny Promo as Finn Balor would call him, can get cleared, we get these two battling at NXT TakeOver: Portland. Can’t wait to see that one.

Intrigued:

The Robb Stone Brand – So, Robb Stone’s a manger and has Chelsea Green as his first client. Is this the next stable in NXT about to form? And will it be a coed one at that? Questions abound and that’s good. Keep us guessing Robbie E!

Meh:

The start of NXT – For a moment or two, I thought I was watching Monday Night Raw. What started off as a show opening talking promo, a staple of RAW unfortunately, between Rhea Ripley and Toni Storm, we got superstar after superstar added in until we of course got a six-woman tag-team match. Very RAW-like creative there. Lucky for us, it was a damn good match with the faces going over. Hopefully, it’s just a one and done for that type of start to NXT.

Mandy’s sorry – Otis and Mandy are simply one of the best things going on Friday nights! The “I’m sorry” cake Mandy made for Otis after letting Dolph Ziggler squash his Momma’s fruitcake over the holidays was a so sweet, awwww moment. Now, granted it was a little odd with Otis and Heavy Machinery walking to the ring with the cake, interrupting the match between Rose and Alexa Bliss, distracting Bliss to give Mandy the victory. But it moves the story forward. You have to wonder what Sonya Deville thinks of all this, right? Keep it going guys! Can’t get enough!

The Miz and Morrison – Thank you for not John Morrison for not letting The Miz not forget his “bad day” and get more shots at The New Day. With a flip off the top rope to nail Big E, Morrison lets The Miz get his revenge on Kofi with a skull-crushing finale pin fall win. Up next has to be a tag team match between these four which is will mean more good days for all of us in the WWE Universe. But first, we get Big E vs. Morrison next week on Smackdown.

Braun Strowman vs. Shinsuke Nakamura – Don’t get us wrong, we’re happy for Strowman for getting the non-title win over Nakamura. What we don’t get it, is that Cesaro brought a chair in the ring, Sami Zayn brings Nakamura the I-C Belt to use and the ref sees it all, never calls for a DQ as Strowman avoids a head shot and gets the pin. On RAW, we get a double-team of The Big Show and the bell rings for a DQ. Double standard much, WWE?

Parting shots:

It may have been short and sweet between WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Asuka this week, but it was effective. Becky showed doubt then strength, knocking out the current tag-team champ with a quick right hand. Looking forward to see what Asuka brings to the table next.

AJ’s a thief! Yes, that was AJ Styles doing a middle-rope DDT and an RKO Monday night. Will Randy Orton counter with a calf crusher or a top-rope forearm? Doubt it, but I do know that The Viper will have SOMETHING!

And finally, Alex Shelley will be on NXT as Kushida’s tag-team partner in the Dusty Rhodes Classic against The Grizzled Young Veterans. Yes, it’s a Time Splitter reunion in Shelley’s debut at Full Sail. That’s my friends, is must-see TV!

Halloween 2020.

Here we are, my annual Halloween playlist (kind of.  I didn’t do one last year).  Not all of these songs are traditional Halloween songs but I think they still get the vibe across.  And I think you should be able to figure out the other theme I’m trying to address here.

I hope everyone’s having a good fall.  It’s been an interesting one for me, especially with music.  I haven’t spent as much time listening to some of my classic fall bands like The Misfits, The Cramps, Black Sabbath, Lita Ford, etc. Believe it or not, I’ve had a little less time than I would have expected and at night I’ve been spending a lot of time with a couple of other music goals: 1. I listen to the new Bruce album every day.  It gets better and better with each listen.  2. I am trying to listen to every Neil Young album I own on vinyl in the fall.  3. I am working my way through the incredible Sign O The Times box set.  Maybe I will be able to pull out some Misfits and Cramps over the next couple of days.  We’ll see.

Penelope Bradley attended the wedding of friend Naomi Owens and her new husband Michael Otis on May 2nd 2020 which took place at Kenan Chapel in Landfall with the reception following at Wrightsville Manor in Wilmington, North Carolina. Miss Bradley wore a dress from Moonlight, a boutique based in Wilmington and Manolo Blahnik high heels. Penelope was accompanied by Samuel Dryden as her entirely platonic date ( and future common law husband )

It seemed that the dancing went on for hours rather than mere minutes, but it didn’t take long for her heels to start to fight back with vengeance, the toes rubbing brutally and the spindly heel starting to massively protest. Really high heels in themselves were a scaffolding masterpiece, and given how long they’d held up, she had no room to complain. But that didn’t stop her from disentangling herself from the group she’d found herself dancing with at the end of the song and a cry that she would return for round two before she staggered her way over to the banks of chairs that lined the dance floor. “God” she sighed, grabbing another glass of champagne from the waiters that were manning corners of the room before she flopped down into the chair, a heavy sigh escaping her as she finally stopped bearing weight against the heels. “You know, people always say make sure you break in your shoes before you go out for a full day in them and” she bent down, undoing the straps around her ankles to give her even more relief. “-As much as I hate to admit it, they were completely right”

Like everything else in the wedding, dinner had been spectacular, a feast for the eyes as well as the mouths, and it had almost been a shame to watch them clear away the plates and tables. But soon the room had changed, and as the evening had worn on the DJ had taken his place at the back of the hall. She had missed the first dance, too busy fixing up her own makeup in the bathroom when they’d announced that the new Mr and Mrs Otis were taking to the floor, but soon the pulsing beat had drawn her away from the open bar and towards the main floor. There were plenty of people dancing alone of course, in between the couples who had their arms around each other and were swinging to the beat, and even more dancing in groups. Out of the corner of her eye though, she spotted Samuel mid conversation with two people she didn’t recognise. She didn’t miss the slightly desperate look in his eye though, and wasted no time in cutting across the floor and extending a hand out to Samuel. “Sorry to butt in, but I do believe my common law husband to be owes me a dance?”

It was an unwritten rule that at all weddings, the bar had to be open and free. And Naomi and Michael hadn’t let them down. Between the champagne floating around on trays carried by kids trying to earn some extra cash, to the endless line of shots that bar tenders were pouring out, and fancy cocktails being mixed behind the bar, it was essentially wall to wall alcohol. Which was why it had taken Penelope Bradley all of an hour to pass tipsy and into sloppy drunk. As she made her way over to the bar for another vodka and tonic ( she could pretend it was water if anyone asked ) she noticed a familiar figure standing at the bar already. Well, familiar might have been a little presumptive -- it was the woman who had been searching for her cat all those weeks back in the aftermath of the storm. “Hey, Trashbag-” she slurred, before remembering, “sorry, no you’re not Trashbag, Trashbag is the cat. Did you ever find him-her-it by the way?”

It had taken her a long time to eventually admit defeat, and that dancing in heels with blisters the size of small countries was a no go -- not that it had stopped her trying to return to the dance floor twice. Both times she’d made it all of one song before peeling off to curse her aching feet and swipe a glass of champagne, fooling herself that the pain would have dissipated by the time she returned to dance. Sam had already disappeared off, to where she did not want to question, she’d seen the look in his eye as he’d danced with Tessa, but she suspected he was about to engage in some pretty inadvisable behaviour. She’d go and look for him, she decided, limping her way out of the room and out towards the bar. That was where she spotted him, Carter Henderson, looking smarter than she’d seen him in a long time. “Henderson” she greeted him with a smile, standing next to him at the bar. “You do scrub up well don’t you?” she commented, gaze running up and down the suited man as she ordered herself ( and Carter ) two whiskey and cokes.

There had been no question of Penelope not turning up to the wedding. Not really at least. Still when she’d woken up that morning and remembered that she had to spend the day smiling and feeling joy for her friends and trying to forget her own miserable excuse for a love life, she had almost been tempted to phone Sam and tell him to find an emergency date. But a long shower and a cup of coffee later and she was feeling ready to face the day. And, it had to be said the wedding had been beautiful -- subtle, lovely, intimate. There had been an endless flood of tears from the second Naomi stepped down the aisle, through to the vows and all the way to when the married couple left together hand in hand. But she had to admit that those floods of tears had been at least in part, due to the loss she was feeling. She didn’t begrudge Naomi her happiness, but the big wedding? The happy husband? The sweet baby? That was supposed to be her life, and she felt like she’d lost that race. Which was why she was spending the interim period before the reception truly kicked off at the bar, along with the rest of the sad singletons. One by one they lined up their shots and knocked them back, but when Penelope spotted Sam she moved to get his attention, a glass of champagne in her hand. It was inevitable really that she was going to crash into someone. “Sammy-” she called after him, though he was too far away to hear her. “Slow the f-oh shit”. Champagne spilled from her glass and onto the floor, narrowly missing the woman she had just walked into. “I am so sorry, oh my god, I didn’t get any on you did I?”

Welcome back to the roaring 20’s my friends! It’s time to have 20/20 vision as we enter the year 2020 for the WWE. And with it, it begins the road to the Royal Rumble and more importantly, the road to WrestleMania in Tampa this April!

Star of the week – Lana and Liv.

How could it not be, right! Lana absolutely stole the show this Monday night as the overbearing bride-to-be in the near nuptials with Bobby Lashley. We now know of course that Liv Morgan spoiled the party by coming out as Lana’s lover while Ruse crashed and crushed Lashley after hiding out in the oversized wedding cake in the ring. While some on social media panned it, I absolutely found it entertaining as hell! What once was a storyline we all wanted to just go away, now has legs and a new twist with I’m sure a mixed tag-team match to come.

Plus, it looks like we’ll be seeing more of AJ Styles and Randy Orton as Orton faked a knee injury to RKO Styles with a rope-a-dope promo bringing back memories of Mark Henry’s faux retirement to squash John Cena.

How about the newcomers? John Morrison, Sheamus and The Usos all found their way back to the WWE Friday night on the first Smackdown of the year. The most intriguing of the trio to me is Morrison as it appears The Miz is headed down the heel turn road. While the crowd may love the babyface Miz, a more serious, in it for me Miz is him at his best. The question will be can the WWE Universe hate him in the ring while loving him on Miz & Mrs.? A dilemma indeed!

Viva La Lana & Liv – Absolutely loved the wedding! Sure, it probably went a tad too long and messed up some folks DVR tapings, but as far as entertaining, it was an absolute grand slam!  From it all being about Lana to Rusev in the cake to Liv Morgan coming out as Lana’s lover, it hit all the buttons. And kudos to the Reverend, actor Scott Malone who said it was the craziest 20 minutes of his acting career. Welcome to a WWE wedding Mr. Malone. Now to those ECW fans out there, this one was surely a Paul Heyman storyline with shades of Beulah McGillicutty and Kimona in the ECW Arena.

Black vs. Murphy – These two delivered once again. The only thing I ask is that somewhere down the road, they give these two an hour to do an IronMan Match! Physical and exciting as hell!

The Street Profits get some street cred – A much needed win against top competition for the The Street Profits. With the victory, they thrust themselves into the tag team title picture, facing The O.C. and The Viking Raiders in a triple-threat match this Monday night on RAW.

What we didn’t love:

TV 101 – Ok, to those who don’t know, I’ve produced a bit of tv in my day, so when things don’t make sense it drives me crazy! So, when you announce that Andrade will take on Rey Mysterio, Jr. in a rematch for the US Title next week before you show the footage of Andrade winning the title, it makes no sense. It’s the look things that make continuity folks! Make it seamless.

A taped show for the first episode of NXT of the new decade. While it’s nice to showcase some of the best matches not shown on broadcast TV, I didn’t quite get the awards portion of the show. Why did we get Steven Regal handing out awards in an empty arena in the middle of the ring? It all seemed flat and with no purpose to showcase the best of NXT, especially after the momentum they built all year long. It just seemed like a throwaway. The ratings definitely proved it as a live edition of All Elite Wrestling nearly doubled NXT in ratings.

One good thing, we get the brackets for the 2020 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic:

Welcome back – 2020 kicks off with a trio of returns. First, John Morrison is back to help out his old friend The Miz after his loss to Kofi Kingston. Then, Sheamus gets a huge pop to chase off The Revival only to lay out Shorty Gable. Finally, The Usos end the night to save their cousin Roman Reigns from another dog food beatdown from Dolph Ziggler and King Corbin. Good things ahead should be coming from all three (or four).

Mike The Miz-erable – It looks like we have a heel turn coming ladies and gentleman. Of course, we get The Miz is still bitter about The Fiend and missing out on a shot to get back at him at Royal Rumble now that Daniel Bryan beat him last week. But now, we get that frustration being taken out on The New Day and John Morrison is suddenly back to help his former tag team partner. Intriguing indeed could be The New Day vs. The Miz and Morrison. A slo-mo entrance is sure to follow!

The obligatory Otis – We have got to see Mama Otis, don’t we! I hope it doesn’t disappoint when Mamma meets Mandy Rose! Just a bit each week does us good!

What we didn’t get:

Where was The Miz – If The Miz is so hell bent on getting back at The Fiend, where was he during the main event when The Fiend attacked Daniel Bryan? Shouldn’t he have been racing out there to save the man he started the show wishing good luck to against The Fiend? It’s all in the details my friends.

The start – Why can’t we just start a WWE show with a match? The ladies tag team match was a very good one with the triple threat, but we had to endure the first segment of talk and a commercial break before getting to it. Sometimes less is more and the crowd, both at the arena and at home watching on tv, would get more into the show with action to start. Agree? Disagree? Let us know!

Parting shots:

Brock Lesnar – what will the Beast bring in 2020? We find out Monday night on RAW. Will we get an off-beat challenger for Royal Rumble – can you say Erick Rowan? Or does Seth Rollins and the Authors of Pain make him the next victim? Eiher way, you’ve got a bunch of unpredictability to Lesnar and the future of the Universal Champion.
