◟ ⋆ ❛ despite  having  been  there  for  over  a  year  ,  scott  had  yet  to  adjust  to  the  town  .  it  always  left  him  on  edge  ,  and  the  nightmares  never  stopped  .  he  was  a  mess  ,  one  bad  moment  away  from  completely  losing  it  .  having  scout  there  was  of  little  relief  ,  because  it  just  meant  she  was  stuck  ,  same  as  him  .  he  couldn't  seem  to  get  to  them  there  ,  but  it  didn't  mean  the  dream  demon  fled  his  mind  .  if  anything  ,  it  became  worse  .  he'd  been  sitting  there  on  the  couch  ,  staring  at  the  line  he'd  laid  out  fifteen  minutes  ago  .  he  knew  scout  would  be  disappointed  in  him  if  she  saw  him  like  this  ,  knew  he  wasn't  supposed  to  be  near  this  shit  ,  but  old  habits  didn't  die  easily  .  his  foot  was  tapping  rapidly  against  the  carpet  ,  at  war  with  his  inner  demons  .  the  sound  of  the  door  to  their  apartment  closing  caught  his  attention  ,  he  quickly  looked  up  ,  knowing  damn  well  he  wouldn't  be  able  to  lie  this  away  .  “  jesus christ . you're  not  supposed  to  be  here  for  another  hour  ,  ”  he  stated  ,  brows  furrowing  .  not  his  best  chance  at  dodging  the  obvious  topic  ,  but  he  didn't  exactly  have  the  opportunity  to  hide  anything  or  come  up  with  anything  better  .

◟ ⋆ ❛ all  of  this  sounded  so  absurd  to  molly  ,  but  she  maintained  a  friendly  face  .  she  was  glad  she  wasn't  part  of  any  sort  of  chaos  ruthie  was  describing  ,  because  it  sounded  like  it  would  make  daily  life  a  lot  more  stressful  .  she  already  got  stressed  as  an  only  child  as  it  was  .  “  i  can  only  imagine  ,  ”  molly  said  with  a  laugh  .  “  a  dog  ,  too  ?  wow  .  that's   .  .  .  really  a  full  house  .  ”  how  else  could  it  be  put  into  words  ?  she  didn't  know  .  molly  felt  bad  for  the  girl  ,  but  there  wasn't  an  ounce  of  recognition  there  .  she  was  still  trying  to  understand  why  so  many  new  people  were  suddenly  showing  up  to  begin  with  .  in  all  her  time  spent  there  ,  she  couldn't  recall  anything  like  this  happening  before  .  “  oh  ,  well   .  .   .  welcome  to  mystic  .  if  you  have  any  questions  about  the  place  ,  you  can  always  ask  me  considering  i've  spent  my  whole  life  here  .  i  know  this  place  pretty  well  .  ”

ruthie wondered if, because molly didn't remember her was her life somehow different here than it was how she knew her? she wanted to ask more questions, but it wasn't like she could. she knew molly. she knew her and couldn't ask questions about her life to see what might be different and what might be exactly the same. even if she wanted to know. "it gets totally chaotic." ruthie replied with a chuckle. it was hard to imagine a time when it wasn't as chaotic as it had been. "oh, and we've got the dog too. happy. so it's really a full house." she nodded. they also had a somewhat revolving door of people who needed help in town. it was difficult to say no as a reverend, or the kid's of a reverend. they were just the kind of people who needed to help others. she didn't like having to explain this all again to someone who had been there, seen the house and the family, but she would. "just about two and a half months?" ruthie answered after a pause while she tried to count.
