Lord’s work???!? I really just love the Maitlands. I’m not anyone special like that please don’t give me that level of pressure I’ll cry ; w;

I know Halloween passed already but I still wanted to include a few spooky headcanons for what I think happens post-movie (as always with some Musical inspiration mixed in)

the Maitlands are only visible to people inside the house

though they tend to hide in the attic whenever guests are over, they make themselves known to everyone nonetheless because Lydia loves seeing her parents and the guests’ expressions and they like feeling a lil spoopy now and then

rumors go around that Lydia aka the weird goth chick brought back the spirits of the Maitlands in an attempt to replace her dad and step-mom with them. the kids around town hear Lydia talking about them sometimes with her actual parents and they always freak when she does

literally the whole town is concerned as to how Lydia the weird goth girl knows about the recently deceased couple that once owned their current home but are too afraid to ask

when Halloween rolls around, Lydia asks the Maitlands to put on their ghost sheets to give out candy to the kids. ofc since none of the kids enter the house, all they see are two sheets mysteriously floating around the house and everyone freaks out. some concerned parents ask for Charles and Delia but bc Lydia doesn’t want her dad learning about what’s going on she tries so hard to convince everyone it’s just props. DONT WORRY EVERYONE ITS JUST REALLY ELABORATE MOVIE MAGIC AT WORK HAHA

Adam is a soft, lovable baby that used to live with two dogs of polar opposite sizes and loved them both equally. one was a massive dog practically the same size as him on its hind legs and the other was a smol nervous chihuahua

he also made friends with a lot of the neighborhood squirrels & birds

Adam is basically the Disney princess of Winter Rivers

Barbara is enthralled when she sees him magically produce peanuts from thin air to give to a squirrel that hopped on his shoulder

the Maitland house is a no-kill zone for animals

the Deetzes learn this very quickly after Delia finds a few rodents in the basement and the resident ghosts refuse to allow them to be killed

Adam teaches Lydia some of his tricks on how to speak to the animals and despite being told it’s to help be rid of the rats, Charles does not approve

the Deetz family knows how deeply protective the Maitlands become once they get attached to a living creature so Lydia and Charles rush to get any and all critters out while Delia distracts them before chaos ensues

Lydia gets all the leftover love and affection and loves it but she doesn’t always say she does because then Barbara will provide EXCESS LOVE and Adam and Delia will join and too much love makes things EMOTIONAL but sometimes it’s GOOD TO CRY LYDIA JUST ACCEPT IT ITS HEALTHY

Adam. Maitland. Loves. His. Wife. and if you are not nice to his W I F E you will not be spoken to ever again what do you think he’s gonna do??? do you even know Adam Maitland???? that’s a man who can’t even frighten a fly. do you think he’d hurt you? are you okay? do the Maitlands need to come hug you too???

BY THE WAY, in my spare time which I definitely have a lot of I MAY HAVE come up with a Maitlands child because I am VERY WEAK for these two and I JUST CAN OKAY

the child is named Charlie

can be any pronouns. I personally choose she/they but I like leaving it open to interpretation

Charlie lovessssssss exploring and going on adventures

it’s very hard to contain Charlie once they learn how to crawl/walk because they are so full of energyyy

their favorite thing to do is ask their dad to pick them up because he never says no and they like feeling tall (yes this is a That 70′s show reference)

when teaching Charlie their ABCs, Barbara came up with the idea of “A is for Adam, B is for Barbara, and C is for Charlie Maitland!”

from then on the Maitlands are referred to as the ABC family, the ABCs, ABC Maitlands, the Alphabets, etc.

Charlie is the hide and seek champion of the house to the point where her parents are concerned as to how she’s hiding so well. they still don’t know her secret to this day

when Charlie meets the Deetz family, Lydia immediately becomes Cool Goth Big Sister

Delia is second mom/silly god mom with all the cool rocks and sparkly clothes

Charlie is convinced Delia is a fairy and Delia loves it because that makes her Charlie’s Fairy God Mother

“D is for Deetz! ABC and the Deetz!” -Charlie at some point after she just met them all

Charlie attempts periodic bonding sessions with Charles whenever they’re in the same room

because they have similar names, Charlie refers to him as Grumpy Me or Grumpy Charlie

Charles secretly adores them and at this point just pretends to be grumpy because it makes Charlie laugh. he knows when to crack funny jokes versus when to actually be serious with them

when Lydia babysits Charlie, they always go out for walks through Winter Rivers together

Lydia always takes pics of things Charlie finds and they keep a scrapbook/photo album of all the Polaroids and neat things they decide to keep

Charlie is very imaginative and comes up with dozens of wild ideas as to where all the stuff comes from

one day they find a birds nest with a momma and her babies in it and Charlie asks Lydia where babies come from

Lydia panics and says that’s a question for their parents to answer

Adam and Barbara freak out when Charlie comes to them with that question and Adam’s scooping them up into his arms and saying “no no not until your older okay??? that’s not something you need to learn about yet!!” meanwhile Barbara’s holding back screams as Lydia explains why the topic came up

whenever Charlie gets in trouble or knows she’s gonna get into trouble, she hides in an easy to find location like under her bed and her parents always console her and tell her it’s okay to make mistakes because you’re only human and making mistakes helps you grow, especially when you admit to them

they’re always proud to hear the teachers’ compliments on how honest Charlie is, even if sometimes it’s a bit blunt

Charlie’s favorite movies are Road to El Dorado, Inside Out, and the Toy Story series

though like their parents, Charlie loves animals, they are scared of spiders because they swear one bit them

in reality some kids were throwing pebbles at a spider web and one of them scratched her leg but she cannot be unconvinced of THE TRUTH

I think that’s all I have for now??? I MOSTLY COULDN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT A MAITLANDS KID OKAY I WANT TO GIVE THE GHOST PARENTS A HAPPY ENDING WITH THEIR CHILD PLEASE I CRY THEY DESERVE SO MUCH

The smile that had been widely plastered on your face and danced on your lips threatened to fall as your friend furrowed her brows in guilt.

“I know how much you were looking forward to going, but my mom…”

You shook your head furiously, your hands held out mirroring your quick movements. “No, it’s fine! There’s always next time right? Whenever that may be…” She smiled with a touch of melancholy on the corners of her mouth. “I’m really sorry, Y/N. I promise to plan something else after all of this blows over. I gotta get going now!” She briefly embraces your slightly tense body and takes her leave, walking down the street to her sky blue Prius.

You turn the opposite direction, a slight sigh escaping your lips. Looks like I’ll use that doofus after all. You pulled out your device from your right back pocket and your thumbs begrudgingly moved on their own.

Is your offer still up? A minute passes and your phone vibrates as the screen lights up. Always ;) Meet me there in fifteen? You sigh. What else have you got to lose? I have no choice, do I? Don’t be late!

You glanced at your phone for the twentieth time. “How has it only been five minutes?” You mutter exasperatedly. There was still an ample amount of time left before the fifteen minute mark hit since you arrived there too early for your liking.

“Hey loser!”

You grimaced at the familiar nickname. You sucked in a sharp breath, your eyes closed. Just for today, Y/N, just for today.

You turned around to meet a… pleasant surprise to say the least. Your eyes slightly widened at the exposure of his toned arms and how his jeans hugged him just a little excessively. His bedhead was more fashionably windswept and relaxed. Was that a red flannel tied around his waist?

He stopped in front of you, your eyes still widened. “What’s wrong? Is there something on my face?” You shook your head and mentally cursed yourself for slightly stammering. “U-uh, no, you just… dress differently than at school.” You both started browsing along the streets of the outlet mall, the sun brightly illuminating the stores (not to mention how much more prominent the muscles on Vernon’s arms appeared).

He blinked and then laughed amusedly. “As much as I like my sweaters and Vans, sometimes I just like throwing on a sleeveless tee. The weather is nice today, so what better reason to wear one?” He winked at you. “You look fancy today, too. Impressing anyone?” He teased.

You suddenly felt self-conscious about being overly dressed. You subconsciously tugged your button up and let out a slightly shaky laugh. “Well, I was originally going to my favorite author’s book signing, but my friend had something come up at the last minute.”

Vernon caught the quick flicker of disappointment in your pupils. He softly chuckled. “Am I just a backup option then?” You abruptly turned to him and shook your head in panic for the second time within that hour. “No, I didn’t mean—“

He laughs and ruffles your neat hairstyle. “Don’t sweat it, Y/N. I knew what I was getting myself into when I asked.” Before you could further question him, he pulled you in the nearest clothing store and bombarded you with stacks of tees and more sweaters. “And this is why we don’t hang out!” Your voice would always come muffled behind the colossal mountain of shirts in your arms, and he would always laugh and retort back, “but you’re here, aren’t you?”

For the rest of the day, you wondered about what he said at the beginning of your hangout. I knew what I was getting myself into when I asked, his voice rings clearly. What does that even mean? Your thoughts would always be interrupted as he points at odd stores and drags you to distinct ice cream parlors and boba places with funky names.

As you were waiting for your drink, you noticed the cashier and all the other cashiers had been familial with him. Your eyes lingered on him enough for him to sense the hole you were drilling in his back. “What’s up, Y/N? You’ve been giving me weird stares all day.” He leans closer with a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Could it be… you’re starting to notice my charms?”

He had backed you up against the window and you coughed loudly, your head turned to the side as you rapidly scanned the ground with a slightly burning sensation on your cheeks. “Stop with the jokes! I just, um, noticed everyone seems to know you. Do you go here often?”

He nods, a soft smile making its way on his lips. “I go here often to relieve stress. Actually… you’re the first to know about this place. Not even the guys know.” You stare at him with your mouth agape. But… why?

After you grab your drink from the counter and head out the door, he merely shrugs and sips on his tea with a smile still evident on the straw. “You’re the only one who responds to my memes back with more memes.”

You blink at him in disbelief. He meets your gaze and you stare at him for what feels like 7 minutes but rather just 7 seconds and burst into laughter.

“You’re—you’re telling me,” you say in between your struggling attempts to calm down, “you went out of your way to get my number through my friend, send me derpy faces of your friends, somehow respond to all my texts with memes, all because I’m the only person to do the same?”

Your infectious giggles made a few chuckles bubble up inside his chest. “Okay, maybe it’s also the fact that I kinda like you.”

You shake your head and let out one last laugh. “Is this what a confession is supposed to be like?” He grins and bounces his head meaningfully. “Well, it’s not anything you didn’t know already.” He glances at you and gives you another playful smile, the light reflecting on his pearly whites.

“Well, if we’re gonna make this relationship work, I’m not gonna be your pack mule for your tees and sweaters. Clothes are actually really heavy, you know!”

He gently grabs your left hand. “Only if you save those fancy outfits for me and not for a book signing.” Your cheeks heat up again but it wasn’t only from the sun engulfing the both of you in a warm embrace.

VOICE!! and when he says double b i just FEEL his confidence and that aura i was talking about before now i have the habit of yelling out or at least mouthing double b along with him its actually everything??? omg and his meme game like i know i already rambled about how dumb he was but like specifically his meme game and his TWITTER OML like the whole dabbing thing, idk who started it but he made dabbing his bitch like he gave zero shits what other people thought, dAB ON THEM HATERS AMIRITE, and even on that one vlive where he claimed that dab was history he ended up saying he IS the history of dab and then dabbed in the next japan promotions with yugyeom anyways. the dab is not dead. the dab will never die. and his twitter holy fuck did you guys see the whole steven deng fiasco where he agreed to his petition to rename bambam to dabdab bc he couldnt be stopped then he INTRODUCED HIMSELF AS AKA DABDAB ON LIVE TV WHAT AN IDIOT IM SO IN LOVE and like in the video where everyone was saying you dont pick your bias, your bias picks you (bambam didnt “pick” me, he grabbed my hair and yanked me down into hell) he fucking said “i pick you” like hES THE KING OF FANSERVICE FOR A REASON OMG hes always flirting with his fans on twitter and calling them baby or babygirl and like at fansigns and concerts whenever a fan goes on stage with him he just flirts with them so much and calls them his queen, his everything etc, just i cant even begin to list all the times where he flirts with ahgases idk if hes naturally flirty or he just likes to give the fans what they want but BOTH IS GOOD TBH bc flirty ppl are attractive and like if its just for fanservice then that just proves how much he appreciates and cares for his fans like wow he really loves ahgase?? I channeled En for about a week and was too lazy to quit playing Resident Evil and finish this liveblog buuuut better late than never, right?! I may only manage one of these a week but I just had a bunch of fanfic ideas (unrelated to watching the episode) so I figured I’d press onward and finish these. Mostly cuz I’m really interested in getting to season 2 because the Beppus are my favorite. But for now- IT’S THE EPISODE WHERE THEY GET BABYFIED! OMG CUTENESS ABOUND.

I mean, he might be meaning he’s since forgotten the wish (which would explain his falling out with Kinshirou in another dimension other than the curry thing) but showing that flashback in such detail and then having Atsushi remember it (or hinted that he remembers it) but without hinting that he knows what Kinshirou wished for is just kind of.... idk it bothers me. That line wasn’t 100% necessary, or perhaps it could have been something like “I don’t remember what he wished for”. Of course, for all I know he could have said that but crunchyroll could have translated it poorly idk.

Buuuut that’s the end! That was mostly just an enjoyable “aww” episode with not a lot of substance other than we discover that Kinshirou is dramatic AF, En is self conscious (perhaps even moreso than Atsushi, or possibly just vain) and Io is definitely embarrassed by public nudity. Hm. Maybe you guys have some more intelligent commentary.

I’m gonna shoot to get Ep 5 done in the next couple days (maybe hours... but this shit takes forever) because I want to finish compiling all this stuff so I can get to writing these plot bunnies that just bit me in the ass... buuuut I need research. (P.S: You know I mentioned a piano recital? It’s not happening. There was an incident with the teachers at the place where I was learning piano so I don’t go there anymore.

Basically, my mom was already sort of frustrated, because they also teach violin there and my litle sister used to learn violin- the teacher told us we’d have to come way earlier for lessons because she was busy with other lessons too, so we did, but she was like literally never on time? We came early but my little sister had to have piano lessons first because the violin teacher didn’t show up until later. So there was that.

And then there was the thing where they just didn’t let us decide the lesson times at all? Like, always “we’re too busy at that time, that’s too early, too many children at that time…” and they were kinda rude about it too (also once I went there at a later time and there actually weren’t that many kids? Wth)

Then they sent my mom a message. You know how usually you have to study with music theory books too when you learn how to use an instrument? My little sister’s only five (turning six this August) and she was often tired out from soccer lessons by the time she went to piano, so my mom asked the teachers if she could just not do music theory when she was too tired. they agreed.

But the message was basically 'she keeps saying she doesn’t want to do music theory and when we let her rest she keeps wandering around and bothering other people/interrupting other people’s lessons’. Like, ok, if she’d been doing stuff like that since the beginning we could understand that, but I had piano lessons at around the same time as her and she literally just sat and read books when her lessons are over and she’s not doing music theory? Also, until that message all the teachers just kept telling us what a wonderful, intelligent student she was and there was literally no mention of her bothering anyone so it was like??? what is this???

And when my mom called the teacher and asked her about the message she was like “I don’t see how that’s rude, please stop being so pushy/bossy, also I was always on time for the violin lessons what are you talking about?” Just. Wow.

When we went to pick up our music books after mom said we weren’t going to take lessons there anymore, one of the teachers came out and kept gushing about how 'Evans and her sister were SUCH amazing students, we’ll be so sad to see them go’ and she hugged me? tbh it felt really awkward and I was screaming internally through the whole thing because WOW I hate being touched by people I’m not close with lol)
