Aubrey is worried that this was a stupid idea... this wasn't what their 'friendship' (if you could call it that) was about. She joined his training of the pups as he trained not only her own pup but the others in the litter, and in return she helped him with his own.... issues. Never had they really seen each other outside of that... but she was about to change that. if he wanted. God she really hoped that he did.

Standing outside of his door with a huge basket balanced in her arms filled to the brim with food and drink, she kicked at his door by way of knocking, waiting for him to answer... and once he did? She lowered the basket to reveal a beaming smile, dark eyes alight with joy in a manner that hid the anxiety and nerves that churned violently in her stomach.

"Wanna join me for a picnic? I went a little overboard."

befriending someone like aubrey was something he'd never thought could, nor would happen. too rough, too blunt -- most found his presence a bit too tense at times. aubrey, though she was kinda forced into it, stuck along just fine. even moments that weren't about the trainings.. the quieter, and even the louder moments. she still was trailing along nearby. suddenly, it became more odd to not see them with the other.

it wasn't a surprise when she was at his door. all the hounds were practically yelling at him to 'hurry to the door' , 'the sweet lady is back', 'open open !'. ozemir clicked his tongue at their excitement ( despite being more than content that she came around too ).

" well if you let me open the damn door she can come --" the door opened as he scolded the hounds for blocking his way. mismatches eyes started from her head before following down to the basket held in her hands. " in .." he finished. the beaming smile was hard to say no to. but regardless, he raised a brow.

" didn't know you were chef .." he swore, she couldn't cook anything for shit. so he was skeptical that he picnic would actually be edible. but still.. he couldn't say no. he hummed before looking down at the pups, who were awaiting the command to be let out the door to greet her.

" should be a nice day .. i know a spot unless you had an idea for one. " nothing seemed too out of the ordinary - sure the picnic was a bit odd, but her coming over and wanting to do something seemingly was just another day. /@never-surrender

" it does." it counted for something. not everyday someone stayed this long anyways. usually his gruff, blunt nature was enough to send them packing. maybe it was the drink, maybe he really was growing a soft spot for this puppy.

though at the suggestion of going to the dance floor, there was finally some hesitation. he eyed the area before letting out a huff of breath.

" that would have to be some good convincing.." less willing to make a fool out of himself, and even more unwilling to dance in front of others. ozemir could only eye the puppy dog look that other had. " more of a watcher -- maybe your moves can change my mind. "

"You are right about that, but..." Dante chewed at the inside of his cheek. "You have my attention now if it counts for anything. Even without the uniform."

He put his elbow on the bar, resting his chin in the palm of his hand. He looks over at the other, contemplating on if he should push his luck. "I don't suppose I could convince you to join me on the dance floor, could I?" He's looking up at him through his thick dark lashes. Dante had already embarrassed himself enough, so what was one more attempt at this point? Besides, it seemed like this Ozemir guy found his blunders endearing, or he hoped so.

HEADCANON || the Aubrey Effect™ Okay so many people know by now that Aubrey has a fairly unique personality. She seems innocent and naive, sweet natured and actively looks for the good and the beauty in everything that’s around her. Especially in the people that she meets and interacts with. While its true that she might not trust people all that much, that doesn’t stop her from being kind and keeping an open sort of dialogue with them, giving an allusion of easy trust and naivety … and its because of this that Aubrey will either bring out the best in another person, or she will bring out the absolute worst (sometimes both).

To those that she brings out the best in, its a lot like how it is between herself and her canon ship, Ozemir. She knows that there are some obvious flaws, she knows that there are things that should be worked on… and she inspires that change, and fully supports it. Even if there are moments where old habits return, moments where you slip up, Aubrey never blames him, never blames the other person… just continues to be that silent and sometimes vocal support. Its because of her personality and her outlook in the world, that people tend to want to be a better person, that people tend to want to protect her and do right by her.

On the flip side? Its that very same personality and outlook that can just as easily bring out the worst in somebody. Whether its because they take advantage of her personality so that they can get something out of her (because she will still go out of her way to try to help you with something), or its because her small stature and apparent demeanor makes her an easy target. Whether its to mock her, bully her, target her, or manipulate her, or any other number of things, there are many times that who Aubrey is can bring this out in a person.

Regardless, Aubrey generally has some kind of effect on anybody that she is around for a length of time.

16. what’s the best way to approach you to start playing together?

I mean literally anything. Like a starter call, send a random ass meme, or just yell "hey fuck head" in my ims all work. lmao. I'm super open and super easy to approach I think? or at least I try to put off that sense, but yeah.

lmfao bitch you know I do. For Emma, its my ship with your Caspian and Lee's Asahi. Ella, I will forever live for her with Todd, ngl ... and Daichi. I think you two are about the only ones that have like ... FULLY developed a ship with her? I have one or two other people is all that I'm trying to build something more with. And then Aubrey you know damn well its Ozemir lmao. And then for Blue ... I think its Nerissa ( @risinglegacy ) but I'm really fucking digging where the ship is going with Blue and Mateo right now. And ... come to think of it, there's really only a small handful of people that bother to try to ship with me LOL.

oh god alksdfhasd I love it. I find it so funny to kinda sit on the sidelines, and half the time it'll lead to me following the other person. I enjoy a fun dash.

Uh ..... tiktok? LMFAO JUST KIDDING. But seriously I don't know if I do have inspiration other than myself for Ella's muse? I mean, talking horses with you is always enjoyable, but like most of my other muses, she just kind of ... came out of nowhere. lol.

Y’know what?? At this point I think I’m just gonna drop. Everything. I think a fresh start with threads might be good for me. There are a few threads that are clearly leading up to something else so I think I’d like to just skip to the next section of a particular plot, or develop interactions beyond the ones we currently have. i'll be damned if i didnt say that emma or aubrey are top favorites solely because they were the ones that brought me to writing more with you. but your characters have complex depths that i always love learning more about. all of your characters just feel ... ALIVE. like theyre actual people with flaws, strengths, past, and dreams. which some people cant do, and here you are giving life to so many characters. i cant help but love them all in the end and be excited for everyone new one!

Because we had Emma and Daichi before we had Aubrey and Ozemir, and the both of them have come so damn far since we started interacting together … hell that was what? 2? 3 years ago? now? Erebus was just as much of a miniature steamroller as she was ... and she damn well knew it. Unable to help how she was laughing at the interaction between two very important men in her life, she let herself be tugged along, giving Ozemir what she hoped was a passably hopeless look and a shrug before her full attention turned to Erebus. It was true ... it had been far too long since the two of them got to go out and actually do something together. Besides, generally they always had a good time together ... so how could she possibly deny him?

Closing her eyes briefly as she rested her head on his shoulder, Aubrey relied heavily on Erebus for balance and to keep her from running into somebody or something ... and with her arm hooked with his? It was fairly easy to remain like they were until they had to stop. 

Even then, when they got some food that was god awful for them (but tasted oh so good) and finally found a proper tree to rest beneath, all it took was a second for her to shuffle close and rest her head on Erebus’ shoulder once more, making a soft sound of pure content. “...I missed this...” murmuring the words softly, she knew that she got plenty of affection with Ozemir ... but there was something to be said about love from a friend.

this party was a bit much. he wished he could excuse himself as easily as akar did ( the party barely started before he watched the vampire walk clearly out of the living room ). it was the socializing aspect that was a bit challenging. especially with the faces of daichi's patients and friend, that seemed to approach him now and then. even worse when the person he clung to had disappeared for a moment ( shuni had dragged her off somewhere with a smirk on his face ).

finally escaping a conversation, he looked around for aubrey. moving through the groups of people. it wasn't until there was a sudden push to his back that he finally found her. but not before really knocking into her. his arm quickly wrapping around her waist before she fell to the floor -- catching her in a dip. mismatched eyes stared at her with a bit of disbelief.

" you okay ? " he mumbled, before helping her onto her feet again. looking over her outfit, then her hair to ensure she was. the flushness on her face was enough to raise concern, tilting his head to a side before a familiar -- shuni once again -- voice spoke.

" you gonna kiss her or what ?? "

ozemir paused before his eyes followed towards the dangling plant.

" oh."

he thought for a moment, and of course because of said voice, everyone was staring. in his head, he knew he didn't have to. not a fan of weird traditions, nor being tricked into doing so. he was stubborn enough to not do it. while also knowing aubrey would say he didn't have to. though .. he also didn't like rejecting her in any sort of way. always giving into her desires, wants, needs, when he could. much rather would ozemir like to see aubrey smiling than pouting in any way. not that he knew if she would want to or not -- it just seemed .. right in this moment.

ozemir leaned down, fingers cradling her chin to have her look upward. looking down into her eyes and rosy cheeks. there was a softness in his own before placing a small peck to her cheek.

" can we go for a walk ? " he whispered beside her ear, needing a moment away from the looks of others. though he wished to be alone with aubrey much more.

guess he was going to get another free drink. he remained sat, watching the bartender once again. dante's reaction was amusing, really. the open mouth look was enough to make ozemir let out a airy chuckle. he took the neutral reply as an okay sign though. that he was unbothered by his words. which, with another drink, would make him either more sleepy or talkative.

he shrugs, drinking from the glass of his freshly made drink. " too bad. both free now, and i don't think i'd get all your attention when you're actually on the clock. " not that he'd intentionally go up to him either the next time though. especially if he was working - he'd mind his own business if that were the case again.

Dante could feel the flush creep all the way down his neck. The wolf's jaw dropped slightly for a moment, quickly snapping it shut when he realized he must be joking.

The grin was a bit of a relief. if he was honest. "Mm... Can't say it was or wasn't?" A real noncommittal answer. He took to downing the rest of his drink. He hastily waved down another, of which the bartender ever so kindly brought one for both of them. This wasn't the bartender's first rodeo with Dante's making an ass of himself, it would seem.

            HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DARLING AUBREY ! 

me: makes this knowing i should also make some for your other characters because i love them all so dearly. 

me: but remembers this is aubrey’s day and she as a character is so well rounded and brilliant despite everything she has gone through has continued to push through and through to keep fucking trying and keep going. keep going, which is something that has inspired not just one but two of my characters that hardly get any sort of development. for ozemir, who was just a hothead evil fuckhead with no route for redemption in his story until aubrey came along and made me realize how much he disliked himself and his own anger towards people. how aubrey helped him through and through and stuck by him despite everything everyone and even i will say about him. aubrey has made ozemir into a more tolerable version of himself, also a much kinder and warmer version of himself who has undergone a massive development due to her interactions. and for erebus, who knew there were many times that he could hide away by big words and do nothing else, to give up and not try — learned and appreciated aubrey’s keep going attitude despite everything she has gone through. erebus looks up to her as a person, as a close friend, but also considers her family as well. erebus learned to keep going despite whatever comes him way. and of course all her family members: from her daichi, akar, joaquin, asahi, zipporah, grey, shuni, and nobu ( even tully ! ) — they all found a eternal and beautiful light within their life. aubrey not only makes grey less despressed but also makes akar more comfortable. asahi will always be proud to call her daughter no matter whenever verse or when they meet. aubrey is such a light and a wonderful character that is just as resilient as her mother. so from the cordiibus family ! we say happy birthday to aubrey ! and thank you jess for making such a wonderful and brilliant character. // @glittergcld​

he had managed to pry the drain open, but needed someone to make sure to hold the ones he brings out. he layed back down on the concrete, reaching for the next few.
