❝ My limit, ❞ she began in reaction to his smirk  ( In hindsight, perhaps REACTION was the issue )  ❝ is not being defined by skill. I’m not testing my strength or my coordination or my abilities. ❞ There’s a distinct air of DEFIANCE in the curt tone she uses. She’s angry  but not at him, this isn’t his fault, he’s the only one trying to help her  and that anger replaces exhaustion. 

It scorches her from the inside out with every breath that she takes leaving NOTHING but a hollow emptiness in its wake ;; this is worse than the NIGHTMARES.

Vers doesn’t move, she roots herself into the ground, tips her chin up at him and stares. ❝ I’m not  l e a v i n g  until I can SLEEP. ❞

At first, Vers is hit with this twang of guilt, because there was no denying that she had a large role in agitating his injuries. ( Injuries he sustained trying to protect her and the team  even if she had been right all along . ) ❝ Of course it--- Yon! ❞ Despite the flush to her cheeks, she grinned down at her plate, moving some of the eggs around with her fork. ❝I’m glad it will heal, I’d hate to have to go easy on you the next time we spar, ❞ Vers smirked, letting out a quiet sigh. 

❝ Though I think fucking might be a better alternative to sparring--- I didn’t have any dreams last night. ❞
