#(full disclosure I love dion)
Note
mm. i like your aquato headcanons a lot. i would like to hear more from you. give me your thoughts; they are tasty 🤲
Wow, thanks! This is a very cool ask I’ve always wanted to know how tasty my thoughts are. I always have thoughts on the aquatos because every time people post nice things about them it makes me love them more and every time people post mean things about them it makes me love them more out of SPITE. And when people post neutral things about them I remember they exist and then love them more. It’s an endless cycle of me loving the aquatos.
(Although full disclosure: I didn’t particularly like them when I first watched a play through, at least not Donatella or Dion. I’ve changed.)
For some reason, something that comes to mind is one of the songs from the Matilda musical, where she’s telling the story of the escapologist and the acrobat and says that people came not just to see their tricks, but also to see the love between them. I just imagine that when people go to see the family’s shows, they have this really tangible connection onstage. Like, they very much make the fact that it’s a family circus part of their branding, and I like to imagine that you can really see that connection between them. Especially after the end of the second game, when their issues are…more worked out. Idk I’m writing this when I’m not totally awake but you get my gist right?

My Thoughts on Psychonauts 2
Speaking candidly about Psychonauts 2, overall I love this game and think it's a great experience, but I have a surprising amount of cons alongside my huge list of pros. I'll talk about them under the cut to avoid potential spoilers. Once again, below the cut you may see spoilers. Reader discretion advised.
Full Disclosure: I haven't yet beaten the entire game myself, but I know everything that happens from watching streams, gameplay videos and listening to people talk about it. As of this writing I'm nearly done with Compton's Cookout.
I'm a little put off but how hostile, aggressive and dismissive everyone is of Raz. Given the circumstances it makes sense but it really does feel extremely offputting to see a character we've known and loved for over a decade now get shit on by so many people around him, even if they're just misguided or at the beginning of their character arcs. The interns are particularly bad about this because they do something really mean to Raz at the beginning and never really apologize or learn from it. Adam apologizes but still justifies the hazing as something that "had to be done." They never really seem to learn a lesson and it seems like Raz forgives them too easily after he saves their sorry asses. In a lot of ways this mirrors the campers' from Psychonauts 1, but for the most part they were just in their own little bubbles doing other stuff, not being rude to you. I get that pathos is an important thing for a protagonist but they really hammer it in here. Yeesh.
Raz's family are all really likable but also suffer from this problem. Dion is an especially bad case because he's just a brooding, edgy jerk pretty much the entire time. Sure, he looks regretful when it seems like he actually hurt Raz's feelings, and the fact that he was the first one to hug Raz near the end made me straight up cry, but we don't get to see a lot of him being nice or trying to make up for the way he acted. It's a plot element that could have definitely been improved if say, Dion had a series of side quests that you could slowly complete and make him warm up to you.
The only side characters that don't seem to get either put on a backburned or act like total jerks are the Psychic 7, which makes sense since the main story centers around them. The only thing that really gives me pause is how heavily the game strains the relationship between Ford and Raz, and in a way that isn't really something you can repair with a talk and hug. Some dark shit went down and huge mistakes are mad, and I wouldn't exactly blame Raz if he never wanted to speak to Ford until his funeral. Which is really, really upsetting because the relationship between Raz and Ford and the way Ford believed in and supported him unconditionally was one of the most emotional parts of the original game.
Lili was great and got a lot of cool stuff to do throughout the game, but I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't a little unsatisfied with how their relationship was handled. They had a lot of cute moments together, sure, but from what I can tell they don't kiss again (though they do hug!) and at the end of the game you don't get to really chill with her or enjoy her company, because she's more preoccupied with hanging out with her dad. Which makes perfect sense narratively, given that he almost died and they both obviously need a minute to decompress and bond, but considering how the relationship between Raz and Lili is easily one of the best parts of the franchise, it felt a little disappointing. Truman seeing Raz as Lili's nervous prom date really made me feel better about all this, though. That's friggin' adorable.
The biggest problem with the side characters is they seem to have not a lot to do. While in the original game the characters were doing something new in the overworld every time you finished a level, the characters here just kind of find a comfortable place and just stay there until post-game. There was a lot of potential there for character arcs and expansions that I felt was a big miss.
Cutting you off from the rest of the overworld until you finish Green Needle Gulch was also a really bad design decision, IMO. I think it might've been done to keep players from thinking the overworld seemed to repetitive and empty? But it makes collecting stuff take longer and means you can't get changable costumes or the best power upgrades in the game until it's pretty much over, and all that's left to do is use them on whatever enemies respawn in whatever minds you can find. The addition of a New Game+ or an Arena mode would really help this. Could you imagine you awesome an Arena mode would be? You could even have the other characters there watching or fight them or whatever. It'd be pretty sweet.
Overall, it's a good experience and I'm really happy the game came out and I got to play it after all this time, and I'll definitely be incorporating stuff from the game into my comic moving forward, but it ultimately left me with some conflicting feelings here and there, and wanting more.
With all that in mind, there's absolutely nothing in this critique that couldn't be fixed with a followup. So basically the worst thing I can say about the game is "there needs to be more" which is very, VERY good. Make a DLC, sequel, show or comic where Raz beats down hordes of enemies, have all the interns go on a journey of self-discovery that ends with them all apologizing to Raz and baking him a cake, have Dion and Frazie hug the little guy and tell him he's a great little brother, let's him blow up the moon with a giant piss cannon and end it all with him and Lili smooching like greeting Italians and you'll have checkmated ever criticism I've had.

The Las Vegas desert brings in scorching hot summers, which is why we don’t like leaving the apartment until sundown. Even when going you’re out at night, it feels like there’s a hair dryer blowing hot air on you.
Now that we’re more experienced adventurers and we slow , we can be more strategic on where we explore. We reserve late to early for outdoor activities, and when the heat sets in, you’ll find us indoors. If you’re visiting in the summer or live here and can’t seem to escape like the other sunbirds, here’s a list of the best indoor activities in Las Vegas.

25 Fun Indoor Activities in Las Vegas for Scorching Hot Summers and Rainy Days
It is our second year working with CORT, and it has been such an amazing experience being able to move from city to city without having to worry about our furniture.
For the first 4 years, we would either move our own furniture or deal with the stress of buying and selling every year. Once we discovered that we could rent furniture from CORT, it was a game changer.
We order the pieces that we want, they deliver it right to our apartment and help us get it set up. When we’re ready to move, they’ll come pick it up! Check out our home tour here.
Having a comfortable home was extremely important for us moving back to Vegas. Not only will we be spending a lot of time indoors during the summer, we’ve been hosting guests every other week. It’s been nice having a home furnished and decorated to help us relax and host. Read more on the CORT blog

SO GOOD! The Tom Ford 2017 Summer Soleil Cream and Powder Eye Colors in Young Adonis and Sun Worship
Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Color in Sun Worship (left) and Young Adonis (right), $62 each
Will life go on if you pass on these outrageously expensive stackable Tom Ford potted shadow duos (OMG! They’re $62!)?
Of course it will. You’ll survive… To paraphrase Celine Dion, life will go on. Your heart will continue to beat, your lungs will continue to function, but on a makeup level? Honestly, I don’t know. I can’t say for sure.
You’ll live, but chances are good that your eye makeup won’t be as sassy or sparkly as it would be if had one of Tom’s new Cream and Powder Eye Colors in your life.
Girl, I’m freaking out over these!
Tom did something similar back in 2015. They combine a cream shadow and a glitter into a stackable duo, to which I have to say, YES.
There are four of them in the 2017 Summer Soleil Collection, and here are pics of two of the four in Young Adonis and Sun Worship. I’ve seen the other two, which are called Naked Bronze and Golden Peach, in previous TF summer collections. I have an older version of them, and I love ’em, but I haven’t seen the new ones in person yet.
Wearing Young Adonis on my lids
Like Tom’s past Cream and Powder Eye Colors, Sun Worship and Young Adonis come in a stackable, screw-top jar. Your cream shadow is in the bottom, and then you flip open the top, and that’s where you see the glitter eyeshadow, which I want to call more of a glitter top coat because it isn’t highly ‎pigmented.
FYI, nobody does eye glitter like Tom Ford does. The flecks are so microscopically minuscule that they look almost gloss on your lids.
UGH! I love it. It kills me every single time I see those signature glossy, glittery Tom Ford lids.
As I get older, I’m becoming more of a makeup minimalist, and I LOVE these cream/glitter duos for simple yet sassy, sparkly looks.
Simply sassy
I’ll use a finger to apply one of the cream shadows on my lids, going just barely into the crease. Then I’ll smudge out the edges and, using that same finger, swirl it in the pan of the glittery top coat a few times (don’t use a brush because it won’t pick up anything). Then I’ll pat the glitter directly on top of the cream shadow for a glossy eye look that looks fancier than it really is.
Sometimes, if I’m really feelin’ it, I’ll also sweep some bronzer or MAC Soba into my crease to give my hooded eye sitch more depth.
Then I’ll curl my lashes, throw on some waterproof mascara and tightline.
Swatches of Sun Worship (top) and Young Adonis (bottom)
FULL DISCLOSURE: I’m a Tom Ford Cream Shadow junkie
Tom Ford Cream shadows are…OH! They’re my favorite thing about these duos.
Yeah, the glitter topcoats are great too, but the creams? SO pigmented, SO easy to blend, SO reliable (they don’t scoot around on my dry lids), and they don’ feel or look heavy.
I’ve heard that some folks have issues with them creasing, but that hasn’t been an issue for me. When I have them on, they stay put all day long and steer clear of my fine lines.
The final verdict
I FREAKING LOVE THESE THINGS, even though they’re obnoxiously expensive.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

It hasn’t changed. But they’re out here now. They’re talking about it in their music, in interviews, everything.”. Mets manager Terry Collins reminisced about Fernandez’s debut against his team three years ago.”When the first pitch left his hand, the first thought is, oh, wow, this is something special,” Collins said. “This was not only one of the greatest pitchers in the modern game, but one of the finest young men you’d ever meet, who played the game with passion and fun and enjoyed being out there.”Marlins players and team officials gathered at the ballpark to grieve together.”All I can do is scream in disbelief,” said Hall of Famer Tony Perez, a Marlins executive and native of Cuba. “Jose won the love of all.
