middle school is too early to be exposing kids who think too much to the existential pit that is the concepts of zero, infinity, non-integers, and so forth
#picture me. age 13. spending an entire twenty minutes not doing homework but instead staring out the window#trying to comprehend that not only are there an infinite amount of numbers on either side of zero#(relatively easy. like looking at a horizon that just sorta fades out)#but that the guy in my math videos is now telling me there are infinite numbers between zero and one?#(incomprehensible. I've known zero and one since I was a toddler. the horrors are in my backyard)#and then I cried and I made sure to let the tears drip on the pages of my math book so that my mom would see the wrinkled pages#and feel regret at making me do pre algebra#(I asked her recently. she did not notice)#pickle pontificates
