            sawyer   wasn't   someone   who   liked   being   in   the   water      ,      didn't   like   to   engage   in   such   a   behavior   that   he   had   been   shunned   for   by   his   parents   even   though   they   were   exactly   what   he   was      ,      a   siren      .      but   when   he   did   swim      ,      it   was   for   hours      &      to   distant   places   where   he   could   learn   new   cultures      &      numb   himself   with   the   way   of   life   that   his   new   friends   led      .      tonight   he   finds   himself   in   a   small   lounge   on   the   coast   of   some   french   town      ,      where   the   flowers   seem   to   always   bloom      &      the   wind   carried   the   scent   of   sea   salt   and   pastries   around      .      this   was   his   favorite   place   to   escape   to      ,      his   favorite   place   to   perform   for   a   couple   extra   dollars   and   the   promise   of   someone   to   warm   his   bed   that   night   before   the   substances   wore   off      &      he   was   lost   in   the   wind      .

         tonight   he   is   there   for   the   performance      ,      having   heard   of   the   person   who   was   performing   tonight      ,      Marie      ---      someone   that   he   could   sense   was   just   like   him      .      he   wondered   if   she   would   use   her   song   to   lure   people   in   for   tips      ,      but   mostly   he   was   intrigued   because   he   had   never   met   someone   like   him      .      so   he's   sitting   in   the   back   of   the   lounge      ,      drink   in   hand   as   he's   watching   her   perform      ,      waiting   for   her   to   finish   so   he   could   approach   her      .      when   she   does   come   back   to   the   public   area   he   is   waiting   at   the   bar      ,      a   shot   ready   for   her   as   he   gestures   her   over      ,      smile   wide   on   his   lips   as   he   lifts   his   glass   off   the   bar      .

            '      a   shot   for   a   hauntingly   beautiful   performance      .      one   might   say   you   are   a   siren   in   disguise      .      '
