I think Alexstrasza is more affectionate in private, but Korialstrasz is more affectionate in public. They’re both pretty affectionate actually, but I feel Alex tries to hold back most (and often fails but anyways) when they are in public, if only because she’s always very conscious of the appearance she has to give, being queen of dragons. So even when she wants to, she’ll usually hold back from being affectionate in public, although that’s only when it comes to initiating anything; if he tries to be affectionate towards her, Alexstrasza will definitely not refuse him. I think Korialstrasz might try to hold back from it too, but I think he fails more often aksjndkjasdnf

In private, not having such concerns, Alexstrasza is very affectionate.

♡: who is the bigger romantic openly? secretly?

I’m not sure either of them would be romantic in the sense of, hm, Idk things the mortals would find romantic? I think there’s infinite love between them, that both of them would see each other as soulmates (Alex definitely does!), and that they are very affectionate towards each other in general, but I don’t think either of them really romanticizes the other in the sense of not seeing flaws and etc, just like I don’t see either of them being a romantic in the sense of idealizing romance itself. They are deeply in love, but I think their love isn’t of the blinding sort, but rather that they love everything about the other, flaws included. In the sense of purposefully making romantic gestures, I think Korialstrasz would do those more often, though what would ‘romantic gesture’ mean for dragons might not the same as it is for mortals, I suppose. 

❥: who is more likely to plan something big for valentine’s day?

Korialstrasz tbh. Specially considering he’s the one who has a close relationship with the mortals and I doubt dragons have a valentine’s day or equivalent, I think it’s cute he’d adopt the holiday even if it’s really just an excuse to love on Alex more (◡‿◡ ✿)

Alex because while she would try to hold back from being overly affectionate in public hand holding is nice and discreet and she likes maintaining contact even if they are in public.

And she loves hand-holding. Alexstrasza loves a lot of the mortal ways to demonstrate love, actually, and hand-holding is one of her favorites. 

💕: who is more likely to make huge declarations of love in front of other people?

While they are affectionate and very in love and you can see how in love they are just from seeing them together and I think the huge declarations of love would happen, I think they’d be mostly in private.

That said, Kori would be more likely to make huge declarations of love in front of other people.

Korialstrasz (◡‿◡ ✿)

Alex because she is so concerned with giving something that will be absolutely perfect and make him very happy. She definitely overthinks gifts in general.

Hmm, I feel like both of them would be likely to initiate physical contact, actually. They’re probably pretty even on that.

That’s difficult actually because I feel both can be really protective. I’ll go with Alexstrasza. Not because she thinks he needs protection, but because she is very protective of people/things she loves. It isn’t easy to get Alexstrasza truly angry, but she will be both angry and merciless if she needs to be to protect someone she loves, and threatening Korialstrasz in any way would be high on the list of things that could make her threatening. She’d be protective of him in every sense (as she is even in canon!), which means she’s concerned with defending not only Korialstrasz himself but his name/reputation too. No bad words against him allowed in her house tbh

💚: who tends to get sick more often? who is better at taking care of the other?

I wouldn’t say either of them gets sick often tbh. Alex is the better caretaker though.

💜: who said “i love you” first? or, if neither has said it yet, who is more likely to say it first?

Listen there is no counting the amount of times the two of them said I love you to each other okay. They love each other. A lot. And they never tired of saying it. 

The first, however, I think it was Alexstrasza.

💛: who believes in soulmates?

She most certainly does!! Not only does she believe soulmates, she is 100% sure Korialstrasz is her soulmate (rip the other consorts but Alex has a clear favorite). Considering how the two of them consciously feel the need to be together, and that they really belong with each other, I feel like Korialstrasz might too. On Alexstrasza’s part though, it really is more a certainty than even a belief, the way she feels about it.

you should write about Alex's reaction to Korialstrasz accidentally adopting Wrathion;;

Alexstrasza would be actually very glad that he does, and that Wrathion lets Korialstrasz near him. Canon never made it explicit if the reds hunted Wrathion on her orders, but I personally cannot see it being the case — or her even being aware of what Rhea did until much too late. Alex is not vengeful, she’s not cruel, and she’s not the kind of person who’d be willing to do anything to reach a certain goal. Even if the Red Dragonflight would not forgive the orcs, or the Blacks, for Grim Batol and everything else, Alexstrasza’s only act is against the one orc who directly wielded the Dragon Soul to keep her captive, and who repeatedly killed her unborn children to force her into cooperation, and enslaved the ones who survived. The entire point that eventually leads to Wrathion is that she wants the Black Flight saved, not destroyed. So yeah, my take on it is that she would not have participated, and much less ordered, all the shitty things her flight did towards Wrathion.

That said, she considers herself responsible, if indirectly. Alexstrasza did give the order for them to find ways to purify the blacks, and definitely put too much trust in none of them crossing lines that she would have deemed obviously should not be crossed. It was under her rule that they went after Wrathion, and all her flight did caused him to grow up alone and scared, with no one to look after him. Because of that, even if she would have tried to reach out to Wrathion, she does not; she’s not a presence he welcomes, because he obviously blames her, and Alex thinks giving him as much distance as he needs to feel safe and comfortable is all she can really do, even it she only wanted to help.

This is all to establish that her feelings towards Wrathion aren’t at all antagonistic. She’s not distrusting of him, she doesn’t resent him; she feels guilty about what happened to him. She wanted to help, but she never feels like she is in a position she has any right to. 

So she would be reasonably surprised that Wrathion ends up allowing Korialstrasz to get close to him at all, but it would be a welcome surprise; while she wouldn’t ever expect him to trust one of the Red flight, it is the kind of thing that beyond the initial ‘wait what how did this happen’ reaction would make her somewhat content. Because if anyone could look after Wrathion and guide him towards a better path, Alex definitely thinks Korial to be the best possible option. 

So ultimately, this doesn’t change that she’d keep her distance, but she would be more than glad to hear anything Korialstrasz wished to tell her about Wrathion, and that Wrathion wouldn’t be all alone. At the same time, I think she’d be glad for Korialstrasz too; because he has always been a great dad to their children, but even more so, one who likes being a dad, and that his bond with Wrathion would make him good in light of that, and of the guilt he carries in regards to having had to destroy the eggs. Specially considering when Wrathion is born, and that it is after Korialstrasz had been through so many awful things that are likely not things one can recover from completely, Alex would certainly hope this would make him as much good as it would Wrathion. 

tldr: it is a development she definitely didn’t foresee, so she’s a little !!! at first, but she’s very glad her boys have each other, and she thinks it’s very good for them both that they do.

Korialstrasz gushes about Alex, but she gushes just as much about him

It’s true. But how wouldn’t she gush about him when he is so amazing? He is wonderful in every way, and she loves him more dearly than her own life. She loves every single thing about him, from the tiny details to the big things. If she is life, then surely he is the sun, because nothing in her world ever flourishes without his light and warmth. There is no one she has ever loved, or will love, more than Korialstrasz.

Their kind is not so prone to affections made public, even less in gestures quite so open. And, though she has not spent time dwelling deep within mortal cultures, Alexstrasza knows most of them to not find it suitable to an environment such as this, either. The Chamber of the Heart near demands a particular sort of reverence, even to those as ancient as they are; it is, after all, of a titan keeper’s making, brought to light again by Azeroth herself. That there are others surrounding them only adds to reasons why such a display might be deemed inappropriate (the Speaker is there, of course, and he is hardly the only one; there are adventurers in search of aiding the world survive the next threat, surely enough, but they are hardly the only dragons either, one representative of each other Flight there as well — even one of the Blacks in the form of Wrathion, who she was particularly mindful not to stand too close to, for him more so than herself). 

No, all things considered it would hardly be called an appropriate place for such display of affection; and yet the Dragon Queen does nothing to stop her most beloved. Rather, she welcomes the embrace with a smile (there is nowhere she belongs as much as in his arms), soft lips pressed against hers in a kiss so full of fondness that it soothes the heaviness in her heart, replaces it with the warm feeling of love that he always causes to bloom within her, comforting and familiar.

They have been too close to losing each other far too many times for her to ever deny him affection, as brief as it may have to be; he has too much of a hold over her heart for Alexstrasza to ever deny him in any way, equally unable and unwilling when it came to Korialstrasz. To others, it would be something so inconsequential in the grand scheme of things; to her, each moment like this one meant the world, meant life, meant everything. Once again, they stood so close to defeat, the looming threat one of so overwhelming proportions; yet one more impossible danger the world ought to be protected of. And this --- this simple gesture of tenderness, this display of care that may seem so tiny as to mean nothing to an outside observer, this was what gave her strength to fight tirelessly for Azeroth, even when the burden seemed much too heavy to bear.

It was love, pure and unblemished, true and fulfilling. If the others would take issue with it, still it wouldn’t have stopped her.

When their lips part, she makes no motion to free herself of his arms; quite the contrary. Instead, the Dragon Queen only further sinks into his embrace, content to stay there for as long as he would be willing to hold her.

" My heart and soul," Kori greets his queen with a love filled smile and warm gaze. He draws her in to a mortal like kiss, before producing a pot filled with colorful flowers. ( She would hate the ones cut from their stems, he knows. ) " I love you."

Smile that greets him is just as loving, bright in way reserved to him alone; the Life Binder may be capable of endless love, but even she is not immune to holding some more dearly in her heart, and none is more beloved by Alexstrasza than Korialstrasz (none would ever be, regardless of how many centuries passed, regardless of how many ages would the world see; none would ever have love akin to what she felt for him who was first in her heart, he who was her better half, he who she loved more than own life itself).

Gesture of affection so much more mortal-like than dragon-like may not be standard to others of their kin, but more than growing accustomed to it, Alexstrasza enjoys it dearly; gentler than those native to their kind, softer, and thus perfectly well suited to one who had always been more tenderness than most would expect of a Dragon Queen.  

“Oh, they are beautiful.” Cannot help but offer him a stunning smile once more, nose rubbed against his in an affectionate gesture; she is content for the gift as much as for loving gesture that it is (content that he knows her well, that he does not overlook that life is and always will be more beautiful and better appreciated by Alexstrasza than beauty by itself). 

Something that they could learn from mortals, she thinks; while love is always important and ought to be felt and shown every day, dedicating time to celebrate it and those you love is not a bad idea, far from it. Own magic less creates and more brings to her hands gift she had sought for him, difficult as it was to think of something that felt right. The Dragon Queen is fairly certain of her choice, still, leather-bound and lengthy book that appears as ancient as it is offered to him by delicate-looking mortal hands. “It wasn’t easy to find something you have yet to read, but I did my best. I hope you like it, my heart. I love you too, more than anything.”

Korialstrasz survives AU: his wings are tattered and he has trouble flying, so sometimes he just hitches a ride on Alexstrasza because;; bonding

She would have, of course, done everything to heal him as best as possible, but it would have been a miracle for him to have survived, so some things are beyond healing. Alexstrasza will always be thankful that he has kept his life, though; even if it isn’t good he cannot fly as well as before. He’s welcome to do it whenever he needs…. or wants to. She’ll take him on longer flights or just more complicated ones, or when the effort is too much, or just so he’s more comfortable and they’re flying together. It would never even cross her mind to see this as a problem: it’s not.

Lighthearted laughter escapes her lips (it comes so easily, so sincerely, whenever she is with him), showered in affection so. He spoils her, her most beloved, love for her unbound just as hers is for him. They are complementary in the best of ways, meant to be, parts of a whole; others may doubt there is such a thing as soulmates, but she cannot, not when he is right here, not when she can feel his warmth, not when his lips cover her in kisses, not when the mere sight of him makes her heart soar with love unmatched. Alexstrasza has had other consorts, of course; but unwilling as she might be to admit it, she has loved none like she loves Korialstrasz.

What would she be without him? (Prefers not even to imagine; a world without him would be devoid of color, of love, of meaning — a world without him wouldn’t be one she would be willing to live in). Instead, slender arms wrap around his neck, hair of crimson rumbling down her shoulders; rosy lips curled in a smile as they meet his, relishing in the kiss, in him, for as long as it lasts. 

“Sometimes I think I am the luckiest being in this world, my love.” When they break apart, one of her hands remains on his neck, fingers entwined in long tresses; the other caresses his cheek, all tenderness in her touch, gaze of pure gold filled with loving warmth as she melts in his embrace. “I must be, to have one as wonderful as you in my life.”

She understood him, better than anyone else could. She knew he wouldn't take their children's life away lightly, not for anything. He wouldn't let her go through that awful pain of watching her children be perversed by an outside force, not ever again.

MY HEART // always accepting.

He would not. She knows he would not, would never — not him, not her Korialstrasz, not her most beloved, not he who had her heart and body and soul like no other could ever hope to have. He would not, he would not, he would not. The mere suggestion of it (the acceptance all else show towards such an outrageous notion!) rips her heart in pieces that cannot be mended, that would never heal, that she would not want to heal if there was any truth to it.

There is not. She knows there is not, knows this isn’t him. If everyone else doubts it, she cannot. He would not do this to himself, to their children, to her. Korialstrasz would never harm any of them unless he had undeniable reason to act as he did. They forced from her the replies that agreed with the foolish notion of betrayal (bitter in her mouth even as wings take her away and away and away, endlessly, aimlessly, as if she could outrun her sorrow, as if she did not carry it with her even then, as if it did not tear at her heart in a manner more painful than any physical suffering the Life-Binder had ever endured). 

She knows him, he would not. And yet she can find no reason that would excuse it, and so the ground was taken from beneath her feet, leaving her at a loss so great the world itself does not make sense any longer, reality itself impossible to grasp. What sense is there in a reality where he is no longer? What sense is there in a world where he has taken their children’s lives alongside his own? Alexstrasza tries to reason that she knows him like none else, that this must be wrong, that they all must be wrong but…

…but she falters. 

Try as she might, there is no answer to such inquiries. There is no reasoning to what he has done, no clue to find different answer, no hypothesis, no excuse. It is the only logical answer they all found. If it made even Kalecgos waver in his conviction in Korialstrasz… but he would not. Why would he betray them? No, he loved their kind, loved their children — loved her. She knows in her heart there must be a reason, that he wouldn’t ever hurt her so for nothing. It isn’t betrayal, it can’t be. He wouldn’t betray her, nor their kin. 

How many thousands of years had they shared? (Not enough, not nearly enough, she knows now that he is no longer here — never enough if she was to end up without him, suffering his absence so, suffering this supposed betrayal that could not be, yet was). 

Why did you do it? 

You — my love, my heart, my everything — how could you take our own children’s lives that way? 

Why did you do it?

But he was gone, torn from her, beyond her reach; and even if she roared questions in deafening pain, the echo of her sorrow was all that was left to haunt her.
