Things has been good between them, yes he has his episodes and they only are getting stronger out of it. Something was also different, since they actually did finally got married for real this time. Who would've thought that she would actually get married and yet here she is. She loves him and she didn't wanted to imagine life without him in it. Her mom comes to visit from time to time to see how everything was going. Today was different, she hadn't been feeling well for a few days or maybe even weeks. And she didn't even know what was going on to begin with, yet she kept on going to the woods to hunt even when she wasn't feeling 100%. When then she finally figured out what was wrong since her mom had been visiting and just left to go back to 13. As Katniss was in utterly shock and she was about to freak out. No, no this can't be happening. Yes they talked about having kids and he finally managed to convince her and yet she didn't expected to end up pregnant this fast.

Katniss went for a walk to just let this all sink in and not sure how to tell Peeta, she was not going to be a good mom. Or at least she was thinking she wasn't going to be a good one. Once she was back home and closed the door behind her she took a deep breath. Still having a panic attack, walking to the kitchen where she saw Peeta was. "Peeta..." Katniss mumbled as she just had to tell him. "I-I know why I haven't been feeling well for the past weeks." Taking a deep breath again. "I'm pregnant... we're going to be parents." There she said it and she didn't know how he would reply to it.

Right after she told him, she felt like she had to run to the bathroom as she turned around and ran out of the kitchen and threw up in the toilet. Yes, this all definitely made sense the constant throwing up, especially during the mornings. She then sat down on the floor by the toilet as she sighed. Was this going to be like this for nine months? If that was the case it was going to be a long pregnancy. She was still freaking out, this can't be happening. Slowly getting up and then she was sliding down the front door as she pulled up her legs. "I can't do this, I am not going to be a good mom. I know we talked about this and I agreed. I just didn't expected it to happen so quick. You, I am absolutely sure you are going to be an amazing father. Me? a good parent? Don't think so."

Did she just heard it correctly what he was saying to her, has he learned nothing from everything. From everything the have been through and he just is questioning no wait assuming that she doesn't love him. Does he still thinks it's an act from her point? Because it is not and he knows that. "No, I know that I love you. I don't have to think about that anymore. You know that." She would lie if she said his words didn't hurt a bit, no way she was going to admit that to him. his brain truly was playing tricks on him a lot lately and Katniss just doesn't know what to do about it. Or it seems like it has been more lately. Never in a million years would she leave Peeta because it was getting too much, it's her and him together as a team. No one else understands what they have going through, maybe other survivors like Haymitch, Johanna, Annie etc. Still it felt it was only them that understood what they went through.

She sighed as she was still just staring at him as she just doesn't know what to say to him. Then again she never was good with words to begin with and he knew that. "What do I need to do, to show you that I love you and that isn't an act or me pretending I love you or am in love with you." Wait, did she just say she's in love with him... She never said that out loud before. Only said it in her head and to herself. Whatever doesn't really matter now, does it.

Katniss wasn't in the mood for an argument, she would just get her bow and arrow and go to the woods to hunt. Maybe that's what she needs, some fresh air and hunting animals. Expressing how she felt she has done enough for today. "If you need me, I am in the woods hunting." With that the brunette turned around and walked away, sitting on the steps while she put on her shoes and making herself ready to go out and be out of the house for a few hours max. It was always easier to just walk away from an argument than just solve it. Once the shoes were on she put on her jacket, opening the door taking her bow and arrow with her as she then walked out and closed the door behind her.

It had been sometime after everything had happened in the Capitol, District 12 was rebuild. It wasn’t the same as it used to be, her mother stayed in 13 which Katniss didn’t blame her for, not after the death of Prim which had such a huge impact on her and her mother. She and Peeta are living together, they even rebuild the bakery. they actually got married this time, who would have thought. The brunette was still hunting in the woods whenever she had to, just to keep her mind of things and to think more clearly. Does she still hate Gale? Absolutely  yes, she doesn’t want anything to do with him. Every letter she has gotten she has thrown away or she has burnt down. 

Katniss came home from hunting as she walked into the house and looked around, maybe Peeta wasn’t home yet. Maybe she can still see if she can trade the turkey she had shot. Knowing things are different now doesn’t mean people stopped trading things with each other. The brunette walked into town to trade the turkey with something before she headed to the bakery to see if Peeta was ready to go home. 

Opening the door of the bakery. “Peeta?” Katniss was looking around as she doesn’t really come here that often. Every once in a while when she was in the neighbourhood.

The nightmares never left, even years later that she was living a life she never thought she would ever live. And with that she means having kids and just having a nice life. Despite her mother not living in District 12 and stayed in 13. Which Katniss doesn’t blame her mother for it. Peeta owns the bakery of his family and has been there a lot. While Katniss was still out hunting every day and being a mom. Does she talk to Gale? No, absolutely not, she doesn’t want to ever see him again. Not after what he has done, it may have been years ago, Katniss just never forgave him. The kids were at school and the woman thought it was the perfect time to go hunting, Peeta was at the bakery. 

Grabbing her jacket and her bow and arrow, making sure she had everything as she walked out of the house and closed the door behind her. On her way to the forest to hunt and maybe she can even sell some of the things, only difference now is that she has the money for things, yet she wants to help people out and give it out, not necessarily needing to sell it. Not sure how long she was out hunting, walking back to town. Handing out some of the turkeys she shot to some people. Katniss then was on her way back home.

Years had past after they had won from President Snow​ and they were able to even rebuild District 12. Not that she ever expected to go back here in the first place and yet here she is living in District 12 with Peeta and their daughter and son. Her mother didn’t dared to come back and live here anymore not after Prim got killed. Katniss never forgave Gale for what he had done. Haymitch was also back in 12, Peeta took over the bakery of his family so it was all his. All Katniss still did was hunt in the woods and trading it with other people from the district. Of course her mother visits from time to time, especially to see her grandkids. Does Katniss still get nightmares? Oh absolutely for sure, same counts for Peeta but they accepted it that they will never leave. 

Katniss also took the Prim her cat in because it was the only thing she had left from her sister. And somehow she grew attached to the animal. Once someone knocked on the door a little girl ran up to the front door and opened it. Calling right away for Katniss. “Coming.” The brunette walked downstairs and saw Plutarch standing there. “Plutarch, this is surely a surprise. Come on in.”

Katniss was looking at Peeta as soon as she heard him ask that. Right away shaking her head when a sigh follows. "Not really no." The brunette wasn't really someone who talks about what is bothering her or what is just been troubling her and Peeta knows that. Yet he never stops trying to ask about it. Probably in the hope she would someday finally say what is on her mind and what is bothering her. But today is not that day. "I'm fine. Don't worry about me."

Katniss was looking at Peeta when he said that the worried look he had on his face. It was never her intention to scare him like that. "You're not going to lose me. I promise you that. I'm sorry that I scared you." She walked towards him as she was still looking at him. "I'm sorry, It never was my intention to scare you like that." She was fine she was more than fine. Only the look on Peeta his face just says it all of how he was feeling and that he truly was scared. To be honest she knows what she was doing or is doing.

She can't take if she would lose him and the fact he started to mean a lot to her during the Games. First she didn't wanted to do anything of him and look at her now.

Did she ever thought of going back to twelve after everything that went down. Especially after losing her sister. Yet she did it anyway to help rebuilt the district and then ended up living there anyway together with Peeta. The nightmares didn’t stop would it ever be. Of course it isn’t as bad as with Peeta. They were helping each other with it, her mother didn’t wanted to return to District 12 and Katniss didn’t blame her that doesn’t mean that she never came to visit that she did for sure. Gale the other hand was someone Katniss never wanted to see anymore, he ruined everything about their friendship when he dropped the bombs that killed her sister. They had a good life they can’t complain. She’s still hunting and Peeting is owning the bakery of his family and working there. 

The past few days Katniss wasn’t really feeling well the way she woke up every morning with morning sickness and occasionally throwing up. Only one thing came to mind after she had talked to her mother. No this couldn’t be it right. Although it wasn’t even a surprise to her to begin with. Yet Katniss went hunting and once she came home she truly was exhausted and feeling like absolute shit. 

She went upstairs while she ran her hand through her hair. The moment she heard the front door Katniss walked downstairs as she was looking at Peeta. “I-I’m pregnant.” She said and just right away said it.

The brunette was looking at Peeta when he said that. She knows how he feels. She has been tired all the time too and then she wasn't counting the fact she woke up from nightmares most of the time.  The girl was looking concerned just the way how tired and no how exhausted Peeta was looking. "I know." Was what the girl only said. She hates to see him like this. "Want to try and get some rest now?"
