Captain America Rewatch: Civil War Part 4

Only an hour left. I can do this. I can do this? Yeah, it’ll be fine. Oh right, I forgot, this scene goes on for freaking ever. Everyone has to have a pairing to face off with and then Wanda goes in and ends it. Because she’s perfection. Let her fight in IW, Russos, you cowards. She’ll slap that glove right off Thanos and beat him with it.

Uggggggh. This fight takes forever. It just keeps going and going and like we’ve got bigger fish to fry here. Like I want to bang pots and pans together and shout out, THIS DOESN’T MATTER GET ON WITH IT.

Ugh and then when we finally get our lovebirds away we get this garbage about Bucky thinking he’s not worth it and Steve doesn’t answer it directly and like are you kidding with this? Have we been watching the same trilogy? There were so many things that could have been said other than “you didn’t do it.” C’mon, Steve. At least Natasha knows what’s up. She gets to lead the Avengers now. She calls the plays now. I fixed it.

How are there forty minutes still left? UGH. 

Now, we have another NO HOMO, but a fairly innocent one a la you remember when we were young and totally in love I mean no you were dating this pretty girl I remember her name and her nick name because I was totally not jealous don’t worry about it oh no our eyes met slightly too long I must look away now I like women only you saw Sharon earlier right she wasn’t at the tarmac do not ask any more questions oh no your eyes are so pretty we must spend the whole elevator ride staring at each other as bros do it’s tactical don’t worry about it.

When I saw this movie, I couldn’t go with my usual Marvel pal and I remember I was allowed to text one single thing as review, whether or not Steve lived. And around this time I started to get a little concerned we pegged the wrong guy. Like I legit thought Tony was going to bite the bullet here because a pissed off Steve Rogers is terrifyingly hot.

Then we have our beautiful, forgiving, compassionate, attractive T’Challa going out to meet his enemies and actually talking and letting go. What a good King. What a good man. I would say he could lead the Avengers but he is too busy.

And our climax, finally. “He’s my friend” / “So was I.” Like I mean, yeah but he’s...ugh. If it was me. It’s not me, but if it was, I would have had Steve drop the line “What if it had been Pepper Rhodey?” Like I just want some acknowledgment of like yes you are my friend but duuuuuuuude. Dude. This is my friend. You get me? You picking up what I’m laying down? Like especially in his letter to Tony when he’s like oh I’ve been alone since I was 18 and like dude, I just watched TFA. You were doing okay there.

Then I love Steve, our little shit, saying that the Avengers are Tony’s and then he basically takes all of them along in his suitcase? Like he’s left with War Machine and Vision and I think that might be it? Great team there. Good work.

My personal favourite look for Bucky is just when he’s about to go for treatment. Best hair. Best smile. A+++ And my man, T’Challa, my good T’Challa who just wants peace for all but also will take no shit from no man. I am so happy I’ve gotten to see T’Challa in three films. #blessed
