I know, for a fact, the writers put no thought into making the Velaryons black.

There was no way these writers saw how fucked over the House was in the books and could have not seen how bad it would look for all their black characters to be so second fiddle, so subservient to their main white leads. Its so obvious they only wanted to focus on Rhaenyra and Alicent and use every other character as tools, they straight up take out characters so they won't have to lose time building them up, Daeron and Maelor and Nettles and Sara Snow and Black Aly and Sabitha Frey and Jessamyne Redfort...

In the case of Daeron and Maelor, they did not intend for either to exist till they got backlash and are now implying Daeron as if he's this big reveal and Maelor this Helaena/Aemond bastard when they really just didn't want to use screentime and their own thoughts into writing them.

But in the case of House Velaryon, from the beginning the story fucks them over, from Rhaenys and her unborn child being passed over to 12 year old Laena being pushed for marriage by her parents to an old man, to Laenor being murdered by his lover or Daemon, to Laena being killed in the birthing bed and getting taken out of the story so soon, to Corlys having bastards and being a shit dad, to Rhaena and Baela being Rhaenyra Stans only. Why would you make them black? And I know the twins had waaay more personality in the books but I've already said they never intended to stray from Rhaenyra and Alicent

I wholeheartedly believe they only made them black so they could highlight the Bastardy of Rhaenyra's boys.

Happy pride month post, 2024 edition. Slightly late this year but better late than never!

She glanced at Balor—then back toward the fish.

Then back at Balor—trying to keep it to a quick glance from the corner of her eye—and tried to muster up the courage that had faltered somewhere between her intentions and her vocal cords.

“Is there something you wanted to ask me, Ari?” Balor asked.

She couldn’t decide whether she wanted to duck her head from embarassment or roll her eyes—so she settled for neither, and just glanced around the empty museum wing around them. Each season had a branch off the main hub of the piscine wing—and the winter wing was at the very back, to leave enough space for all the equipment that kept the water cool. If there was anyone else in this part of the museum at the moment, they were so deep into a branch that they wouldn’t be able to hear what was going on among the winter fish.

“Well, I was just thinking—I don’t think you’ve been back to the farm since I settled in,” Aryn mused, trying to keep it casual. Next to her, Balor watched the fish dart through the water in the tank in front of them—the winter cold frosted glass causing his breath to condense on the front of the aquarium. “Would you like to stop by, maybe?”

She glanced at him after making her offer. He didn’t look away from the fish, a cluster of dace sending flickering silver shadows across his face. He’d mostly kept control of his expression, as he worked through whatever answer he’d give her, but there was a slight uneven furrow between his brows—something between a raised eyebrow and a look of concentration.

His fingers tapped against the loose silky fabric of his pants. Balor was twitchy when he got cornered, and Aryn raised a hand to wave off her offer. “If you’re busy with another run into the city—”

“Yeah, sure,” Balor interrupted. “I don’t see why not—I’d like to see what you’ve done with the place. Next Saturday, after the vendors leave from Market Day?”

Her heart had lodged itself between her sternum and collarbones, all tangled up in her lungs. She could feel her heartbeat in her throat as she nodded and agreed weakly. “Oh—alright then. Sounds good.”

Rock Band AU for OCs coming through!

My Malchar is the lead singer of Irredeemables, very popular rock band and his shtick is to be very very sexy on stage and music videos.

The band consists mostly of my OCsm with one exception. From left to right: Aryn on keyboard, Ilmara on guitar and backup vocals, Malchar is lead vocals, @kromitar's Aecath on bass and Garot on drums.

The last picture is from music video shoot for a song Irredeemables made a collab song with Ryleth's band. It's very horny. For drama obviously!
