yinyue is not the type to utter a lie unless there is a need for it. her core self is extremely honest. this doesn't mean she cannot lie, however, it's simply because she sees no point in lying or deceiving people even though she has the ability to read someone's wavelength and flow in order to tell if they're lying or not. if there comes a time that she would lie, it is most likely she is doing it to protect the other party, not herself. and because it comes from someone who rarely, almost never, told a lie, that makes it extremely difficult to tell.

YINYUE ( the rover - wuthering waves ) had been moved from test muses to primary muselist !

while yinyue's ability as a resonator ( and vessel of sound ) allows her to read people's waves, there are limits to this ability. for example, she can tell when someone is telling a lie, but that doesn't mean she would know what is the truth. she never tells others how she was able to detect their lies in order to prevent them from manipulating it. there are powers and abilities out there that could tamper with her own and either enhance it or hinder it from working properly. the full extent to this ability of hers still remained unknown, and yinyue herself is still learning its limits and changes as she goes.
