I was thinking of my fic and thought it was pretty amusing how I asked myself the question of "If Pit was associated with an actual ancient Greek city, which one he would be from?", and without hesitation answered Tegea.
Like not Athens, Sparta, Knossos, Mycenae, Corinth, Thebes, Olympia or any place that people would actually think of if presented this question... Just this weird Arcadian city.
#personal thoughts#kid icarus#kid icarus uprising#ki#kiu#granted tegea did have this cult of athena in which the head priest was a young boy#& i based my version of pit's mum on a tegean princess so i did have my reasons#even if it had some silly side effects - like if the family tree of pit's mum was the same as her mythological inspiration...#... pit would be related to lycaon. you know the first werewolf#how 'arcadia' has ever managed to become synonymous with 'paradise' is truly beyond me#it's such a weird place mythologically speaking
